Aw this place was such a disappoint. We tried it spontaneously (without checking Yelp ratings, unfortunately) and it was such a bummer! The jackfruit tacos were very unnecessarily sweet (even without the maple sauce) and we couldn't taste the chipotle at all. I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant on Tuesday. I brought my mom, who was visiting from out of town, because I had previously dined here and really enjoyed both the food and the Seaport location. Unfortunately, our visit started off poorly. The host spent about 15 minutes engaged in a personal conversation before acknowledging and seating us, which felt unprofessional. After being seated, we ordered chips and guacamole as an appetizer along with our entrees. More than an hour passed, and our server never checked on us. Instead, he was standing at the bar watching the World Cup game. We eventually had to flag down another server to ask about our fajitas. Our server finally returned and told us that he had forgotten to enter our order. Rather than apologizing, he simply asked if we wanted him to put it in now. There was no genuine apology, no effort to make things right, and his attitude came across as dismissive. At that point, we decided to cancel our meals. The server dropped the checkout tablet on the table without saying much and walked away. We ended up paying about $20 for chips and guacamole, never received our entrees, and never received so much as an apology. This was an incredibly disappointing experience, especially since I had recommended this restaurant to my mom based on a previous positive visit. I decided to come here the evening we are in Boston with my friend Matt because they have the same Rosa Mexicano, the Swan and dolphin resort at Disney in Orlando. I ordered a V Jack for tacos and I had a mango spicy. Margarita and my friend Matt had a Diet Coke and the black bean empanadas. Our server completely disappeared and went MIA; he saw that we were done. He had a whole stack of menus in his hand and has not come and checked it on us since. The food here is really good. My jackfruit tacos were really yummy. I had three for $18 and I had a really yummy tasting mango. Margarita and my friend Matt told me his beef and bananas were very yummy. However, my friend Matt is completely out of his soda. We have not once been asked for a refill and we did not get a refill on our chips and salsa either. Came here for a baby shower event and generally enjoyed the food and cocktails, but some misses from the bar and ambiance. For food I liked the queso, birria tacos, carnitas (the tortillas were sitting in the juices so it was a bit soggy) and surprisingly a potato onion veggie spring roll thing. Shrimp tacos left a bit to be desired, a little on the dry side. The server was very friendly, but the bar seemed like they struggled to keep up with our orders with some noticeable delays. The person of honor / Mom-to-be waited a long time for their first mocktail. I enjoyed the mojito, but the mango marg was a bit too sweet for me. It was also a bit stuffy and uncomfortable in the room, the A/C didn't seem to be working as well as the rest of the restaurant. They opened the door at one point but it was 82 degrees out. For some reason our waiter was the exact opposite of friendly. Bro did not gaf, but little did he knew a yelper was sitting at his table. Unfortunately service is a make or break at a restaurant like this because Mexican food is extremely common and the prices were steep. We came in at 5pm and tables were plenty open, the hostess had us wait five minutes while she searched for tables even though the restaurant was 90% empty. Ok, benefit of the doubt they had a lot of reservations. Complimentary salsa and chips but my party was five people (two of which were males) and it was impossible to track down our wait for a chip refill. Angry face emoji. On the premise of food, yes I ordered fried rice and cheeseburger at a Mexican restaurant, SUE ME. But the fried rice was glorified dirty rice with an egg on top, surprisingly very much enjoyed it. Burger, wasn't wowed. And then the tacos were just tacos, good. Hard to mess up when you are a Mexican restaurant. Although there was a huge selection of proteins and our waiter was zero help in dwindling our options. I wouldn't come back because I feel like it wasn't special. There's a lot of mediocre service in restaurants nowadays but this place gets the prize for the worst. Our server was nothing more than an order taker - he barely said a word, took our order and we never saw him again until he came to collect payment. He never checked to see how our food was, never offered another drink, zero. He said "how was everything" after we sat there with empty plates for what seemed like forever. When I said "I would have liked another beer if you came back a half hour ago," he ignored me. He cleared our table only after we paid and left. Besides the lousy service, the music was too loud and the acoustics were terrible so it was difficult to have a regular conversation in a nearly empty restaurant. Rosa Mexicano in Boston's Seaport was honestly just okay for me. The location is great and the service was stellar, which was easily the best part of the experience. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout the meal. The space itself has potential, but it feels a bit off. The inside is very dimly lit and could definitely use some brightening up. There also seems to be a lot of wasted space, with a huge bar area and a much smaller dining room, which makes the layout feel a little unbalanced. The drinks were good, and the homemade guacamole was excellent. That was by far the highlight of the food. Unfortunately, the rest of the meal was pretty underwhelming. Nothing was terrible, but most of it was just bland and forgettable. The biggest issue is the price tag. For what you get, it feels outrageously expensive. My friends and I stopped by Rosa Mexicano in Boston Seaport after a boat cruise, it was conveniently within walking distance, which made it an easy choice. We got there around 10pm (they close at 11), and thankfully they were still seating and serving. Our server, Yasmina, was friendly and mostly attentive. That said, since it was close to closing time, the staff seemed to be in clean-up mode, so it took a little while to get her attention when we needed something. I ordered a frozen guava margarita, which was disappointing, it tasted more like grapefruit than guava, and definitely wasn't what I was expecting. I also got the Birria Quesatacos. Flavor wise they were okay, but there were tough, big pieces of meat that made them hard to chew, and the birria sauce lacked flavor. One nice highlight of the night was that we were celebrating a friend's birthday, and the staff brought out a complimentary birthday treat and sang to her (upon request). It was a thoughtful touch and much appreciated. Overall, Rosa Mexicano has a fun vibe and a great location for late-night eats in the Seaport. I loved the overall pink aesthetic as pink is my favorite color, but for me, the food and drinks fell a bit short. read more

I brought my best friend's mom here for her birthday and I don't know about you all but stakes are high when you take Haitian mamas out to try any outside cuisine that isn't their own kitchen. Add added pressure with my mom being there. But I am pleased to say they all loved every bite. In fact, we could barely make it past the appetizers. Service was good, we initially started eating outside, thinking the view at Seaport would trump the breeze, but soon learned that was not the case. So mid meal, staff were kind enough to move us indoors. I really don't have any complaints. Drinks were great, food was great. This place is so gorgeous, when you first walk in it's a bunch of low lights and water flowing from walls. I guess he did pretty quickly but also I came on a Monday at 6:00 p.m. so that could be a difference it was hardly anyone in here. It is starting to filling up around 6:30. The server in the staff are extremely nice, my first taste was the salsa and it wasn't that great so I've ordered the queso to see what that was like. My case was pretty good, it's nice and thick but so creamy. It comes out very hot, do it some cilantro and cheese. However they did not bring me any extra chips he's only had like five chips left over from the complimentary sausage and chips they give you. So I thought I'm going to end up with a bunch of cheese. But nope they brought us more. I ordered the filet mignon with the side of Mexican rice and refried black beans. The stick is fine but I wanted it to have a little bit more seasoning or be a little more flavorful , the rice and beans the rice was so hard I was crunching through my teeth . The beans are right but I don't know they're kind of tasteless . Also when we got our food we had several orders of rice and beans because the food comes with rice and beans but we didn't know that because the side said something else so I asked if my sides could be rice and beans instead . But instead he just gave us additional sides of realizing games. Those are drinks were only $5, the frozen margarita one I got was too sweet for me and I have an issue with things like that. So I told the guy that I would still pay for it, but I just wasn't going to have him any offered to make me a whole new just on the rocks. And that's what I got a pomegranate margarita on the rocks. This was far better, and tasted very good. And it's only five bucks, I'm not sure if it's not still there promotion or what but I'm glad they do it. They also have this Fiesta hour menu that has all these cool little things on it like wings small quesadillas egg rolls Ceviche shrimp and you can get a Smashburger or nachos. Calling on my conclusion is it's a good place to come for drinks maybe some appetizers but for me I wasn't happy with the food. They didn't even have steak sauce or anything to dipstate Sauce in like nothing no soy based nothing. Well and the mashed potatoes they wrap it in fried cheese the mashed potatoes isn't that good but the fried cheese is yummy yummy I will get it just to keep you in the fried cheese. It's so hard because I kind of like the place and again the staff is what makes it but they could do that on the food. So for the staff they are definitely five star top tier. But as far as some other things they could work on it like menu and food presentation and having more condiments. I don't care how fancy schmancy you are. Oh and one more thing I couldn't even eat my rice because it had like burnt rice in it or over I don't know but it's like when you scrape rice from the bottom of the pan. I would 1000% recommend going to cosmica instead if you're looking to eat somewhere in proper Boston. We came here on a Friday at 5pm and it was very empty. The restaurants theme leans into mexicos pink color. The food look the way it was supposed to but it does not. So place is pretty well decorated and we liked sitting outside. Service was great our server was personable made recommendations and was honest about what he liked and what he didn't. There was 4 of us. 2 ordered birria tacos, 1 ordered Baja fish tacos and I got queso fundido. The chips and salsa was yummy that was brought pre meal. The person with the fish put the sauce on it that came with it and couldn't eat it cause it was super super hot. I had to send back my fundido as it was super watery and not melty cheese. The chorizo on top was crumbled dry chorizo not the cooked kind I'd expect. There was peppers and onions inside which I think led to the wateryness. I did have the clarified margarita and it was good rim was Uber salty but drink was decent. Based on the food don't think I could go back. :( read more

Passed this place so many times and finally went in. Its a large nice space at the seaport. The food is standard tex mex. The portions are large and very fresh. We had the fresh guac which was 8/10. For our main meals we had the chicken fajitas and seafood enchilatas. Both I would say 8.5/10. Service was good for dinner. Some super good guacamole resides here! The chips are different, almost like a thin crispy surface layer on them that I never had before. The salsa had no true kick but it was still enjoyable. The Quesa birria tacos were great. They were served street taco size in a group of three. I would have loved the next size up or one more taco though. More queso will make them next level. I used to stop at Rosa Mexicano for a drink prior to boarding ferry for Provincetown. Today when I attempted to do so, the hostess told me I had to order food as well. I was not interested in food, having just eaten. Since when does the restaurant require food with drinks???? Guess I'll have to check out 75 Liberty for future ferry rides. This place is perfect for a girls night! First thing to mention is they had a frozen margarita pitcher option which I feel like in Boston is pretty rare to find - especially during the winter- and it was sooo good! They also make the guac in front of you and ask spice levels and if there is anything you don't want. We got the double guac which is 3 avocados, smaller than I expected but pretty good! The queso fundido was also a great appetizer option and then for the main I got the enchiladas which I'm usually picky about but it was really good and came with rice which was perfect to soak into the sauce. The server was so attentive all night even though it was busy and the food came out quickly throughout or time there. Definitely coming back here again and getting the frozen margs. read more

Quite actually the worst experience of my life. I'm not a picky gal. But this place was allergic to using salt I stg. The nachos tasted like a wet rag. The Burris tacos tasted like watered down French onion dip (think water with onions in it). Our waitress hated her life and honestly I get her but hfs. This time around I ordered the Baja fish tacos. I wish it had more flavor. Now why would you fry fish in a batter with no salt? It has potential with all the fixings. I drove three hours to this restaurant and it was pretty good. We got served instantly and had a nice waiter. The atmosphere was pretty chill as well.
