Again; I am very disappointed with my experience at this Round Table pizza. I have been going there for almost 20 years or more. It use to be very good. The food tastes good and there was of good quality and looked appetizing. In addition the service was good, the staff was friendly and attentive. Something has changed over the past few years. I am not a frequent customer because of the negative changes. Today, I thought that I would give them a chance. I made a simple pick-up order-a small pepperoni and sausage pizza, was told that it would be ready in 20 mins. I arrived? No customers, action in the back and the owner was sitting in the office, within view of the cash register and customers. I waited a fair amount of time, not extremely long, but still I found it odd to see the lack of attention to customers, perhaps texting on his phone was of more importance than a loyal paying customer. He eventually reluctantly got up, no apologies and no emotion, in fact I believe, not even a hello. He quickly showed me the pizza, barely opening the box. I thought that it might look a little overcooked, but I wasn't sure No thank you or goodbye initiated by him. I returned home and indeed it was more than over cooked, it was burnt, tasting of charcoal and very dry as well as minimal cheese. Overall, the experience was very displeasing and disappointing. I realize that some people will blame it on the Covid, but these are all the same type of things that I have noticed over the past years, especially the burned food and lack of friendliness. Other Round Tables in the area are still excellent. So Round Table Mission Viejo needs to improve. Or they are going to lose more customers. read more

I don't think I've been to a Round Table Pizza since the 1990s, but I had this past Monday off work and wanted to give their pizza buffet a go. I'm all about pizza and I'll never turn down a good buffet. As for the food, it was all right. I wasn't expecting Michelin-starred pizza, but it was all right. The pizza crust could have been a wee bit crispier -- it was a little doughy -- but the topping were good and abundant for a pizza chain. What I really loved were the garlic knots - yum! The salad bar is where my issue comes lies. Like Tim S mentioned, the salad dressings aren't on ice or in a refrigerator. I'm sure that has to be some sort of health violation. The lettuce and salad toppings also aren't on ice, meaning: warm lettuce. If everything was kept cold -- in a refrigerated compartment or on ice -- I'd definitely give this place another star. The salad bar selection was surprisingly good - just really too bad it was warm! As it was pointed out, the TVs are quite loud. I like to listen to CNN so I was quite all right with that! read more

Clean, nice location, good layout. Lots of room for little league sports teams, a small but adequate arcade for kids and a nice sized tv for adults. As to be expected from Mission Viejo branch locations, this Round Table is excellent. It's definitely a cut above nearby locations in Lake Forest and Irvine. I make the drive from Irvine just to get the carefree suburban atmosphere that Mission Viejo provides. It's soothing and calm in here. The residents of this city are kind and easy going, much kinder for whatever reason than surrounding cities in Orange County. It's an ideal escape for introverts who aren't too keen on the more urban/'surban', more high strung, culture to be found in the Irvine, Newport, Costa Mesa area. 4 stars for quick service and accuracy with our order, but the food quality was not that good at all. I expected a lot more for the prices they charge for pizza here. It was just over $20 for a 14" large. We ordered for pickup and it was ready quickly - only took about 20 minutes. The pizza itself was really just about average to slightly below. We ordered half garlic chicken and half pepperoni and sausage. I normally get the Guinevere's delight or the other veggie one, and I have to say the garlic chicken is WAY better! Used to be a family favorite but realllly went down hill. The pizza was really bad. We ordered a cheese pizza and I could have done better with a frozen pizza at home. The attitude of the staff has been going down too. They used to be happy to see you but this last three visits this year made me rethink coming here ever again. The girls at my work wanted pizza for lunch today, so I went by Round Table Pizza, which is only few steps away from my business. All I can say is that I regret not trying their pozza sooner. It was the best pizza I've had in a long time. The crust was perfectly baked, and the toppings were layed out beautifully, not to mention the awesome taste. If I could give 5 more stars, I would! Wow. All I can say is how much I regret not having a Round Table pizza for over 20 years until last night. I went to the Mission Viejo location of Round Table on Marguerite next to the CVS, and picked up my online order of a large King Arthur's Supreme which was about 25 bucks and a Gourmet Veggie which was about $19 with an online coupon. While there, I decided to order 12 wings for about $13. My wife and I were having 2 guests over and we usually just get basic Dominoes spending less there except for the wings which are about the same cost, or occasionally a Bj's which are priced a little higher than Round Table, but I think both Domino's and BJ's have gone WAY downhill in quality. The local Dominoes had basically deteriorated to where they were only serving a pizza that seems like dry bread with a little tomato sauce almost no cheese and crappy toppings. Basically a complete waste of money. BJ's has gone from making a delicious deep dish pizza to making a soggy inedible mess with very few toppings which is a terrible deal given their high prices in my opinion. What I received from this Round Table, on a Saturday night (at about 6pm) took only about 15 minutes for them to make. Their normal crust was slightly thicker than others thin crusts, but not as thick as a hand-tossed. Basically, it was ideal. Both pizzas had an enormous amount of toppings, and I mean FRESH toppings that you could identify. The King Arthur Supreme had meats that were large and delicious. The veggie pizza had what seemed like an endless amount of delicious tasty veggies. Both pizzas had so much cheese that when I pulled a piece away you could see the cheese pulling just like you can see in the commercials. I haven't had a pizza that did this in many years. The wings seemed larger and meatier than what you would get at Domino's or Little Caesars and yet were similarly priced. I ordered mild buffalo flavor, and they were perfect. These two pizzas and wings felt so much heavier carrying them to the car versus the kind of weight I would feel from getting a similar order at the nearby Domino's. After the four of us filled up on these delicious pizzas and wings and even after one of my daughters came home and had some pizza there was plenty left over for lunch today. I mowed down two of the veggie slices and the rest of the wings and I am still stuffed. Take my advice, spoil yourself and go to this Round Table to get the best pizza that I've had in South County in many many years. I've had gourmet pizzas from good local Italian restaurants off and on that are very good and also very expensive, but they're only slightly better than the discount chains. These moderately priced pies from this Round Table location were frankly, perfect, delicious and satisfying. I enjoyed every bite. In my opinion this Round Table location lives up to the hype that they have been bragging about in their commercials for at least 35 years which says they are " the last honest Pizza". It's good to see a franchise protect the good name of a good brand in this way. I will definitely be back, often. read more

I requested their zesty red sauce instead of the standard white sauce but got that nasty white sauce anyway :( I absolutely hate white sauce on my pizza! I used to love this round table location but based on my experience tonight I will never eat there again. We ordered a delivery of a large olive onion sausage and pepper pizza with lite sauce along with a personal pineapple pizza. What we received was a large pizza with no sauce and no personal pizza. I called, they refused to deliver the personal pizza so we had to go pick it up. When we let them know that the large pizza was not good they offered to remake it but we would have to pay for it. This is the worst service and pizza I have ever experienced. I don't expect a lot from a chain pizza place but this was ridiculous. read more

There is something oddly scary and flattering that Round Table already knows my order when I call in. Sure, it probably pops up on their screen when I give them my number, but still... there is something about hearing "Would you like your usual?' that makes me feel both happy and guilty at the same time. Happy that they act casually like they recognize my voice, and that it makes it a definite neighborhood-family feel. Just went in for the buffet that my boyfriend and I go to frequently and it was 2:15 pm. We asked for the buffet and he said it was over. We then went on to say that we thought it was over at 3. He got a blank stare then said he was not going to make anymore pizza and whatever was there was all he was going to have. Pizza was sitting for at least three hours, toppings were so old they were curling up and hardly had any cheese or toppings. The salad bar was meh. We were so disappointed. What a waste of money. I'm not necessarily a huge fan of the environment of this place (dark, dirty seeming)... but the PIZZA is one of my favorites around. Our whole family loves it! They just added a salad bar too which makes me happy and we LOVE their ranch dressing. They all have a cheap all-you can eat pizza and salad lunch buffet for around $6. Other than that, they are usually pretty costly, but if you ask, they almost always have a coupon available that they will apply. Food poisoning Ok now that I've got the big reason why this is getting 1 star I'll go into the "minor" reasons. I tried this place during one of my lunch breaks since my employer and coworker apparently frequent this place often. I had never been to a Round Table before so I checked their website and the reviews on here and decided it looked like a safe bet. To sweeten the deal I had a $1 off their lunch buffet, bringing it to $5.99. I'm all for trying the cheap pizza buffets like Cici's Pizza which is amazing and is a shame there are none around Mission Viejo so I went in and it was like stepping back 20 years in time. The decor reeked of a billard hall, complete with Budweiser billiard lighting in the arcade and multiple domestic beer signs posted up (which was kind of ironic in my opinion for an arcade but whatever...). The buffet itself had only 4 trays out, 2 empty and 2 with slices of random pizza. The salad bar was nothing special and honestly where I probably got the food poisoning from the lukewarm ranch... But what would have made this at least one star better was the pizza DIDNT EVEN TASTE GOOD! The pizza seems to be made with colby-jack cheese instead of mozzarella given the flavor and mottled strands of orange cheese, but no matter what toppings were on it, they all tasted like rubbery bland cheese on crust. Once I got back to work I just felt heavy. It's like the food just weighed me down for the next couple of hours until I finally had to make a visit to the office complex's bathroom to rid myself of what I'd ingested. This MV location used to be far better than it is currently. I don't mind the 80's feel, little leaguers running amuck in a small and cramped pizzeria on a Saturday or even paying quite generously for a top quality pie. I've been a customer here for several years; having told the owner who usually takes my order that I even drive out of my neighborhood (where there is another RT) that his pizza was far better, more generous toppings, fresher ingredients, and pizza crust that was rolled the same day. He always gave me a discount and told me in the beginning not to worry about bringing in a coupon. So I didn't. I didn't even collect mailer coupons any longer because for years this is how we rolled. My second to last visit here, his wife took my order and said I needed a coupon. He looked out from his tiny little office directly attached to the front counter and didn't say a word. Whatever, but I thought to myself, "Really? Whatever. Weird." Obviously, he's been demoted by his boss. Fast forward to two weeks ago, I go in with some friends for salads and pizza. The pizzas came out semi burnt - okay I guess but not at all what we''re used to and more like a Pizza Hut pizza now. Not Round Table quality at all. We had waited longer than usual for our food to arrive and because we had plans after dinner we ate and were on our way out though disappointed. A young lady who was working at the register was great ;probably the most alive employee I've ever experienced there, she smiled and asked how everything was. Here's my chance...I told her the salads were great but the pizza tanked. It was super dry do to a lack of sauce and lack of major ingredients plus it was overcooked. (I've been a Round Table fan 30 plus years, even worked at one as a teenager) so I knew what it was supposed to taste like. She was a doll but of course just an employee but she did look over to the owner who popped his head out when I began to speak. This guy didn't get up off his chair, he didn't say one word. Right then and there I decided I would never give his location my business ever again. The new Laguna Niguel location is now my spot when I'm craving an authentic Round Table Pizza in the OC. (Blakes Pizza out of Pasadena with a location just down the street is pretty awesome too!) This RT is mainly a take away mini location, but it is new owners VS. the famous former Dragon lady who owned and operated the previous Round Table that was located across the street, inside the shopping center where Whole Foods now is. The new location and owners make a Round Table Pizza like it should be. They're timely, curtious and don't take their business for granted. read more

Well Round Table you let me down today, I've been ordering here a lot ever since the Mountain Mikes nearby closed down and today's delivery was just so awful I had to review it. We have ordered every Friday for over a month and normally the pizza comes hot and fresh with the cheese nice and runny. Today the order came over a half hour later than quoted and it was obvious it had been sitting out for a long time away from heat. The cheese was barely lukewarm and it didn't even taste good like Round table normally does. I would give this place 5 stars because the pizza is still one of my most favorite around, pizza was made fast, BUT. The inside was so dirty. The game room had trash all over, dust on the napkin holders, windows and mirrors covered with hand prints and gunk. I saw a guy cleaning the floors and tables where people eat. So I'll give them that. But It seems as if the rest hasn't been cleaned in months. A little TLC would go a long way at this location because it has such great potential since the pizza is amazing. There were lots of workers but no one could take the time to clean. It's no wonder I sat inside with my family for an hour and we were the only ones inside the entire time. Round Table's gourmet veggie is an addicting pizza. I get it thin crust, and it comes with this delicious white sauce, artichokes, zucchini, mushrooms, green onions, and tomatoes. It's hard to limit yourself to three slices. I called in for delivery, and couldn't find my regular coupon of "Buy One Pizza, Get the Second 1/2 Price," but the awesome employee honored it since it's a coupon they mail locally. It's finger-licking good, and reheats really well in toaster ovens. I will say, however, that Round Table pizza does not pass the cold pizza test to me. It must be reheated for its full potential. I rarely dine-in at this location, but it looks like a regular chain pizza restaurant. It's got a few arcade games too, expectedly. read more

Best Pizza in the Mission Viejo area. Owners are great people. We have been going there for years. Their sauce is the closest to Chicago pizza I could find. Their regular crust is home made and prepared as you wait. Try the King Arthur if you are a meat eater. That's my favorite. However I often order sausage and green pepper because that's the most flavorful pizza combination to me. That is also included on the King Arthur along with lots of meat and black olives. read more

Great pizza, probably our favorite next to Rubinos. Called tonight though to use a gift certificate on a delivery and was told it was for Dine-in or carryout only even though it does not state this anywhere on the certificate. Guy answering the phone seemed annoyed from the second he answered the call and sighed when I agreed he could go ask his manager if they would take the certificate for delivery, which they would not. Ok, I understand if your busy, but c'mon is it really that difficult? Maybe I would think it were pretty difficult and annoying if I were making 9 bucks an hour too. I called Rubinos and ordered tonight because if we had gone in I figured they would know "it's that guy with the gift certificate" and probably drop some foreign objects into our already loaded pizza *sad face* Agree with another reviewer that the place does seem pretty worn down and dirty (have dined in on other occassions).
