The food at the Beaverton location is always great whenever I go there and the staff are really good at letting you know the wait times for your food to be done. The last time I was there a party of maybe 8 people just finished placing a large order but the staff was still able to get my faster take out done in under 10 mins. The only thing that's holding back the last star would be the sticky tables and sauce area. I've been guilty of this, but pouring teriyaki sauce into the little cups they give you from the large bottle can make a mess and while there are paper napkins to clean up spills they just don't hold up so well against sticky sauce. read more

Always good, and usually busy. They are not a fast food restaurant. But they do fill orders fast. Only thing I wish is a way to pre order. They said they tried it but people wouldn't pick up. This place can be really good at times and not so good other times. I just recently went there and they over cooked my katsu chicken. Still above average food. Prices can be a little high especially for the ribs that are fatty and full of bones. I would give it a 4 star if the cooks were more consistent. I love this place and have been coming to them for years. They're garlic chicken is one of the best meals I've had.

This is the worst of the three Roxy's. Avoid it and go to one of the other locations if you can. This is the easiest one to get to for us but we had to stop going eventually, which is the reason for the one star. Their food is very inconsistent here. The last time we ever went the shoyu chicken was flavorless. We asked for extra shoyu sauce thinking that might help. They gave us some and it was literally just a cup of oil with little to no flavor. It was pretty gross and it's too bad there isn't better quality control here. read more

I am not impressed at all with their food. I've been a couple times and I keep thinking its going to be better but I think I'm going to give up. I've had their teriyaki chicken, chicken Katsu, Kalibi pork, and the kalua pork they do as a special. The teriyaki and Katsu are forgettable and you can find better pretty much everywhere else. This place opened a week or so ago. The location is OK. Limited seating and the staff are kinda stupid. While I was waiting for my food they were fiddling with the stereo not sure how hard it is to use an iPod but they sure made it seem like it was rocket science. It took forever to get my food. I ordered the loco mocho which is a fairly easy dish to make but it took 15+ min to get my food. They didn't even have a card scanner they used old fashioned carbon copy. LOL let me point out that all the negative reviews are from non-Hawaii peeps, or people who have "lived" there for a "couple" of years. Now I'm a displaced local boy who has been in OR for 4 years now, and local food is one of the things I miss most about home (yes, I am from HI and didn't just "live there for a few"!). So with all these factors in place, I think my review should be more credible than those from people who have absolutely no clue as to what "local" food should taste like! I was fortunate to meet Dean, the owner, when he first opened his doors at the Walker location almost 4 years ago and I have been a regular ever since. Not only is the food as authentic as it gets, the workers are as nice as they come (at least the local transplants). Now for all you non-local people, your reviews are very misleading. The shoyu chicken IS done up correctly, local style. In fact, it tastes almost exactly how I make mine, and I'd like to think that I'm a fairly good cook. To the reviewer, Rian, who cares if there's no all white meat option?! This is Hawaiian food if you haven't noticed, and nowhere in Hawaii will you find a plate lunch joint with an all white meat option. Maybe you should hit up The Chicken Bar in Beaverton for over-priced frozen chicken breast. I digress. The pineapple chicken is fried to perfection (Mitsu-Ken style crispy and if you don't know what that means, you're obviously not from the islands so your review will not be credible!) and glazed with an ono sauce and chunks of pineapples. The teri burger, just like the Walker location, is the best burger in OR. And if you actually think Red Robin is a good burger, please move on! Dean told me 4 years ago on the secret to how he gets those flavors from the hamburger. It's a secret so I can't tell. Sorry. And for the woman who said the Mac salad wasn't so great: are you kidding me?! It's how local mac salad should taste like! If your idea of good mac salad is Reser's or Safeway Deli crap, why did you even bother to comment on this restaurant. You and your review has nothing backing it beside the supposed "lived there" excuse. There are hidden flavors in Roxy's mac, which I believe is garlic and purée onions. It's awesome! So you guys can take my review for what it's worth, but let me reiterate that I am from HI and lived there my entire life. I am a foodie and I am picky. You go for the awesome delicious food, not for the speedy service. And I'm not hating on how long it can take to make my food, because I've never had a bad plate there. Just don't go if you're starvin like Marvin because you may get "hangry". I think we're pretty lucky to have this spot over here. Usually eat this food as take out. Especially like the shout and garlic chicken. I ate in this trip and was given 2 small plastic vials in which I could put sauces in. The choices were teriyaki, sriracha or soy. Sweet chili sauce, which would've been a logical choice for one of my entrees was 50 cents extra. If I wanted any of the other sauces more than what I could fit into the 2 small vials, it was a 25 cent charge. This is all a nit but I can go to Hapa in the next plaza over, which serves the same food and all sauces that compliment your eat in meal are free. They need to change their sauce policy for eat in meals. I'll just go to Hapa from now on. Other than that, the food was fine! I would have gone 4 stars. read more

I have to say I do enjoy Roxy's food. It's fresh and tasty. They are normally a little busy. They seem to only have one cook most of the time. The last several times I have been there, they had run out of certain dish's witch makes there menu limited. And if you order the ribs expect to wait until all there chicken dish's are served. I've been kept waiting a couple times now for over 15 mins for Togo orders. Keep in mind they don't take phone orders. If they would keep there food stock up I would give another star , if they were a little quicker on the second choice order (since they were out of 1st choice order ) I would also give the extra star. So there's room for improvement here. 5 stars would be easy to give if food stocks were consistent and wait times were minimized. read more

Pretty happy they finally opened one of these near my house! Eat here about 1-2 times a week. Its still pretty new so i know there working out the kinks. Once they get a phone and a real credit card machine, they should be chugging along. The food is always good at any Roxy. If you haven't tried it, try it at least once! Great food, but they don't have any business sense. It's 2018 and I can't order food over the phone or internet? Sorry, I don't have time to wait 10-20 minutes to get my food most or the time, which is why ordering ahead is a thing. Not only is this extremely inconvenient for you and me, they're making it hard to give them my money. Business 101: make it as easy as possible for your customer to pay you. Their biggest customer complaint is that orders take too long - in fact, they got so many complaints they had to post a sign saying that Roxy's is "not fast food." Which is fine. But it's not fine to be slow AND not make any effort to fix the issue. Let people order ahead and this would no longer be an problem. (And Roxy's, this is why your reviews suck, and why you're not as successful as you could be). Your business only survives on customers that love the food and word of mouth. I ordered their Loco Moco, thinking it was going to be something amazing, it was pretty plain. I make a better loco moco honestly. Roxy's Island Grill was the first Hawaiian place I've ever tried and it was quite a disappointment. Aren't Loco Moco one of the main traditional dishes. My advice would add some flavor to your burger it was straight up a plain burger with some seasoning. The mac salad was decent and the help was alright. Probably not going to come back here again. I submitted an online order tonight, 9/27, and received an email confirmation that the order went through at 5:54PM and would be ready in 15-20 minutes. My son drove the 20 minutes that it takes to get there and was told it wasn't ready yet. He sat and waited until after 7:00 when an employee apologized for the long wait and told him that they had forgotten about our food in the warmer. Both my son and I were confused as to why it was put in the warmer in the first place when he was there waiting the entire time. We received the food an hour and fifteen minutes after submitting the initial order. When I called to complain that the food and containers were soggy, I was told the only way to get a refund or food remade was to bring the contents of the food back. The only reason we ordered takeout in the first place was that there was nothing to make at home. This would have required another order and barely getting there before close with no guarantee we could make it in time, and our children waiting another 30 minutes to eat dinner. We spoke to Chantel on the phone and she said that Lex, who is the lead, stated that they food must come back in order to get it remade or refunded. This is poor customer service and will make me think twice before ever ordering from Roxy's again. read more

If I could make this a 0 Star review I would. I have lived across the street from this Roxy's for close to two years. In that time this location quickly became our favorite location to eat. We would frequent a minimum of 3 nights a week there. Progressively the service has gotten worse and worse. There are certain people who if I see working I will literally turn around and leave. I call them the "b team" because the food is consistently lower quality when they are working. Yet we continued to dine as frequent as 4-5 nights a week until now. I will no longer be a patron of Roxy's. I came in today to order one of my favorite usuals, Teriyaki Beef, only to find that it had gone up in price by $5. This dish was $8 and suddenly you are charging $13? And trying to blame that on the fact that minimum wage has gone up by a dollar and fifty cents. I am all for paying your employees a livable wage and I understand price inflation but $5 is greedy and ridiculous. Everything here is nothing short of amazing. Some of the best mac salad i have had in my entire life. Very low prices compared to other hawaiian food in the portland area. I love that they let you have samples so you can figure out exactly what you want. You can tell that they pour all their love into the food.
