This is my second review for ruby' diner different location.This one is located in the heart of Anaheim close to the freeway. Service was very inconsistent, some were very cheerful and others didn't seem like they want to be there. My waiter had a good personality, a man on roller blade but service was very slow. Food was average, however they had shakes which was good. I waited a long time for my bill. The decor was new (you can tell it trendy....in the 80's). i will not come back to this diner due to the service received. Meh.Ive experience better. way better. read more

First time having rubys. Great experience! Food was awesome with the refillable cajun fries, gluten free options for the Mrs. and she actually enjoyed them (for a gluten free picky eater that says a lot), and the shakes are actually old fashioned, not to mention the service. My wife and I had early dinner at this location (Lincoln Blvd). I had the Sea Platter Combo and my wife the Burger with mushrooms; it was delicious and well prepared, the server was friendly and attentive to our needs without being overbearing. Price was reasonable and the service very professional. This is a good, informal place for a casual bite to eat. read more

We had time to waste so we decided to have dinner at Ruby's! Amber was our server! Went here on Sunday afternoon, rainy day, but not too bad. The wait was really short, only about 10 minutes. Got seated and got our drinks ordered right away. Waitress was really nice, and was punctual and constantly asked if we needed anything. Ordered our food and was nothing spectacular. But it was good. Ruby Burger was cooked great and their fries were just the right amount of crip and fluff. Overall, felt nothing was wrong with our service and our food. I went here not too long ago for a Yelp event and didn't really know this place existed in Anaheim until then. After that event I was set on coming back here for the Hickory Burger, which is a 1/2 lb burger on their special burger menu. It rocked a 1/2 lb patty of all-natural beef, onion rings, Cheddar cheese bacon, BBQ sauce, lettuce, tomato, and sauce on a lightly toasted bun. You can substitute a gluten-free bun for another $1. You can also get it on a wheat bun, which is what I did. I also opted out of the cheese to reduce the calories since this burger by itself is already a little over 1000 calories. The burgers all come with refillable fries. For another $1 you can upgrade to sweet potato fries, which is what I did. They also have options to upgrade to onion rings, Cajun fries, and something else for a little more as well. Or for something healthier you can get tomato slices or cole slaw instead (why on Earth you would do this if you're even eating this burger?) We were quickly seated, and because I was super hungry, we ordered right away. I ordered the Hickory Burger ($12.99) with sweet potato fries ($1 more), and my dad had the Cobb Burger with Swiss Cheese instead of Blue cheese ($12.99) and regular fries. most other burgers here are only $10, but since we wanted to chow down on 1.2 lb patties we went for a bit more. The server was really nice, and our food came out in a timely manner. It would have been faster, but it sounded like the kitchen messed up on the cheese for my dad's burger. The burger was super delicious, and I know it's sacrilege to say this, but this burger was 10 times better than the burgers I ate at Gordon Ramsey Burgr or Holstein's. Well, it's true. It was cooked medium rare, exactly how I asked for it, and the burger was just bursting with flavor due to the awesome combination of ingredients. The first set of sweet potato fries were bomb. My dad even enjoyed them. I'll definitely order that combo again! The service was ok. The server never really checked up on us at all after she dropped off our food, and I had to ask another staff member for silverware. I wanted more fries since they were refillable and I was hungry, but I got the refill of fries at the end of the meal after our check was presented t us as a result of the server checking back on us after we were pretty much done with our food. I had to hurry up and eat my fries since my dad wanted to go, so I didn't like that aspect of the service (hence the docking of one star here). The second set of fries I got were a bit on the burnt side, so while it was fresh, it had a more burnt taste to it. Still good though! I ate up EVERYTHING! Except the pickle on the plate. Overall, this was a good experience, and the burgers here are filling and bomb. I'll be coming back here for sure. Perhaps for another Hickory Burger! They have a special on Mondays for 2 burgers, refillable fries, and 2 shakes for $19.99 if you're into shakes. I'm not, but it's almost like getting a free shake if you do like them! I have had the shakes here, and they taste like blended ice cream. Very good stuff! read more

I've been here to this location about 5 times within the past 4-5 months. Never had any thing bad to say till tonight services. It was a group of 3 adults and one child total. We never knew till this visit the fries are endless nice to know :) lol Gets better, got our food and the girl didn't bring my order correctly she picks my plate and said I'll come back with your onion rings I'm already eating the fries which were barely warm as she walks away i told her just bring me the rings later I'd like to eat and she did. Now my complaint is as we asked for refills on my fries I assumed the onion rings do too I did pay the upgrade the manager comes back and says sorry Stephanie made a mistake it's only French fries are refillable but as a courtesy she'd " I'll give you fries and some onion rings" came back with 4 rings and a basket of fries, my complaint here is the ways it played out. Didn't feel comfortable after. Offered refills on our waters and drinks when were about to pay never asked. Sorry but after my meal I'm just feeling upset. Also we asked before even ordering our food can we separate each check and when the bill came it was all put together competent forgot when we asked for separate bills. She also divided them incorrectly had to ask and go up to the counter for a box for some left overs. Mind out my friend worked at Carl's and said we would get yelled at for making this many mistakes through this whole experience and I can't believe it would play out in a restaurant and a manager involved handling it the way it played out here at Ruby's tonight. **** Sergio (another waiter) comes for the check of the last order and he has been the person I see the past times and greets us with customer service we have come to know a friendly smile, approachable and listen to us when we speak. It's just a couple miles from Disneyland, but worth the trip compared to some of the crappier breakfast places in the area! The decor is adorable - like an old diner. Very quick and friendly service. I love the option to get beignets on the side of my two egg breakfast! The breakfast potatoes were delicious. Popped in here last Saturday AM pre-Disneyland. The kids loved the little cardboard cars they give them to build and decorate with stickers - a nice 3D change from the typical activity sheets and crayons most joints dole out. Service was excellent, the food is really good, and the atmosphere is upscale 50's diner. A great place to bring the kiddos. read more

When I'm on vacation, I prefer to try restaurants that are not in Northern California. So I Yelped for burgers and up came Ruby's (i was looking for a sit down restaurant near Disneyland). If I could go back in time, the 1950's would be it! Ruby's is themed! The coat rack next to all the booths is a nice touch. It's comparable to Johnny Rockets but a true restaurant. The menu is simple so your not overwhelmed with options. I ordered the Sriracha burger and sweet potato fries. Yum! Luckily, I dined in on a Monday night (no wait time) and walked out during Disneyland's fireworks. I sat outside to watch! Oh, beignets are offered before 11am. This Rubys is probably the nicest one I've ever been to ! It's still has its brand newly built appeal and is a very clean and nice place. The food was really good, nice & hot like it was fresh & the service was so good! My server was very respectful & always come to my table every 10 min or so. He definitely got a well deserved tip. Probably the best location of all Ruby's diners I've been to. I came here on a Saturday afternoon and it was not busy at all. I particularly loved the roomy layout of this place and how there are an array of seating options. A+ customer service when I was here; the waiters and waitresses are all so attentive to your needs and frequently check up on you. Burgers are okay and big, nothing too extraordinary in terms of flavor. Bottomless french fries are always a plus and the strawberry lemonade was delicious! I checked in on yelp and was given a coupon for a free itsy bitsy sundae. Overall, awesome location, great customer service, and satisfactory food. The wonton chicken wrap isn't not very good. The vegetables are just bell peppers and onion. I expected more julian carrots and zucchinis but there were a bit or carrot and celery. Wouldn't get it again. Also the burgers look so tiny. You get a bigger burger from the habitat or in-n-out. read more

I used to love ruby diner, good food and services, but lately they have been slipping. I order my food to go and for that past couple of times they have messed up my order, oh well can't go back. But today was the worst, I order a grilled cheese with an order of onions rings and what I got was grilled cheese with onions inside my sandwich with regular fries. Not good, my husband got his bacon burger almost raw. We understand that they had a party of 20 + when we arrive but seriously if you can not take anymore orders do not answer the phone. We would understand. Your busy, your busy but do not diminish the quality of customer service just to earn more money for the day. Never going back. read more

Our boys (6 and 11) LOVE this place - it's their favourite place to eat on our trips to Disneyland from Canada. We usually go a couple times during visits to Disneyland, and we love that we see much of the same staff over the years. Our kids love the food, the gum ball machine, the staff, and we like it too. We also like that it feels more local than most of the restaurants right by Disneyland and it's totally worth the short drive to pop over. read more

We have two Ruby's Diners closer to us but we ventured to this one because we had a coupon from an Entertainment book. We were seated promptly and our server was very nice, courteous, and friendly, (thank you, Alberto)! That goes such a long way with me these days as it is rare. Our food was all good, though the onions I had asked for didn't make it onto my burger. I didn't say anything as the burger was still delicious. I would definitely come back again. Look. Breakfast runs deep with me. The service, quality of the coffee, the cleanliness of the entire establishment, and of course the menu and quality of the meal itself- all of it matters. On a Sunday, after spending the day before at Disneyland, we came in for breakfast before hitting road. My wife found the place on yelp , good reviews , close to the freeway. Called ahead of time asking about the wait for a party of seven (including 2 under 5 years old). 10-15 minutes was the quote. We arrived a few minutes later, found a comfortable place to wait. The hostess mentioned it would be a little longer. I really appreciate an establishment that keeps you informed and up to date. Shows they stand by their words and remember what they were. It was only a few minutes longer. We were sat, had drinks and menus within a few minutes, despite the Sunday crowd with every table full. The coffees and waters were tended to, the hostess didn't rush us to take our order but when ready, she was there promptly. The food was as advertised. Again , simple food prepared as it should be at a reasonable price. I maintain that if you treat the staff the way you want to be treated , you (most the time) are treated well in return. We all enjoyed our meals , were tended to and politely. The wait was normal, given the Sunday crowd and it gave us time to talk and enjoy. If you find yourself in Anaheim, try this place out. read more

This place was great!I went as a guest for a yelp elite event and it was an amazing experience for my first time. I haven't had a Ruby's burger since I was a child so each bite was like taking a bite out of a nostalgia burger. The event was organized and the waitresses were very accommodating. I was able to sample the classic burger, the hickory burger( i think that's what it was called), the super burger, the sriracha burger, and the swiss burger. I personally liked the super and sriracha burger. They were both juicy and had the sriracha one had a kick to it. The hickory burger was ok but the bbq sauce was too sweet so I didn't like it much. The swiss burger had a weird earthy taste to it: probably because of the mushrooms and swiss cheese. After sampling the burgers, we tried 3 different types of milkshakes. There was a coffee one, kit kat, and double chocolate. My favorite personally was the kit kat because i love kit kat but the coffee one had a better texture. The double chocolate shake tasted like a wendy's frosty so it was ok. Overall, my experience was great and I would rather go here than Red Robin any day. read more
