It was sad to see Rudy's go down because of one person, so I'm glad to see this Salem classic being revived under new ownership. Many of the old recipes and menu items remain the same, and tasted great. They are starting out small now and will expand slowly. But I can see everyone (long-time workers from both Rudy's and golf clubhouse) being very motivated to create the next new chapter.

Our family celebrated 2 birthdays last night. We were happy to see the restaurant resembled the old Rudy's very well. The menu and food quality were superb.

    Wine selection was wonderful.

Awesome mac and cheese with added Cajun chicken. We sat in the patio in 76 degrees - perfect.

The price point versus the food quality is not worth it. I hope there are improvements since I miss Rudy's downtown so much!

It certainly was busy, so recommend calling ahead. Ordered the pork chop and was pleasantly surprised.

Its at the golf course so its slightly less than fine dining in terms of decor and attire, however the food is on par, no pun intended.

This was similar in concept, but nothing near the quality that I expected. We initially sat in the bar, but the booth was so tight to both us of us that we moved to a table. We were told by our server that they had no red wine. Huh? No red wine??? I had water. Loss sales! There was no line dancing which was fun at the Texas version. The peanut shells were scattered on the floor as I guess they are okay with that. I am used to a bag of peanuts with a container to put the shells in. The music was great, but that was the only good part. My steak ordered Medium Rare was Medium Well at best...closer to Well Done. The seasoning was odd. It seemed too strong. The salad was okay, but the container of dressing was on its side, spilling the dressing on the salad. The rolls had an odd taste. I love these from my past Texas Roadhouse version. But these were inedible. The crew looked unhappy. There were no smiles or conversations ongoing. When we left we walked by our server who didn't say a word?? But the hostess did make a point to say thanks and good night. Upon entering the parking lot, I noticed 2 of the 3 lights on the sign not working. Everything is in the details, and this Roadhouse Grill is not executing.

I was greeted by a very friendly server named Logan, he showed me to a booth, and let me settle in. After a few moments he came back with some fresh rolls and took my drink order, I opted for a glass of the house Pinot Noir. They have a nice varied menu and also offer some Chef specials. I decided on the Parmesan Crusted Halibut as my entree and a Ceaser salad to start. The salad arrived quickly and looked very good, I was informed that they had just made fresh croutons. After finishing my salad, which was very good the croutons were light and crispy, my dinner arrived. The overall presentation was excellent, the potatoes had a nice flavor and went well with the fish and asparagus. The halibut was cooked just right and the crust was perfect. Overall the meal was exceptionally delicious. I will make an effort to to come back and try more of the menu. I was informed that Saturday evening is a good time to stop in as they have live music. Highly recommended for a nice dinner with spouse, friends or work associates.

Now, you'd think a restaurant hosting a group of endurance athletes would be prepared for a marathon, but service-wise, this was more like a relay race where the baton got dropped immediately. Our poor waiter was running around like a headless chicken the entire night. Hydration is key for triathletes, but finding a water refill here turned into an absolute heroic quest. I practically needed a GPS, a compass, and a hydration pack just to self-serve a glass of water. As for the food: * Sirloin Steak (Mine): Absolutely perfect. Chef's kiss. * Steak Salad (My Girlfriend's): We asked for medium, but it arrived a bit on the rare side. Still edible, but definitely had a little too much "life" left in it. * Our Teammate's Culinary Misadventure: One guy in our group had the absolute worst luck--or the kitchen had a personal vendetta against him. He ordered a steak medium, and it came out cooked to hockey-puck well done. Naturally, he didn't want to play Russian roulette with another steak, so he pivoted to Fish & Chips. It arrives, he takes a bite, and the fish is still cold in the middle! At that point, we weren't sure if it was bad luck or if he secretly owed the chef money. The Verdict: The potential for great food is definitely there (my steak proved it!), but Chira's was completely unprepared for a large crowd. If you're coming with a big party, maybe pack your own water bottle and pray the kitchen roulette favors your table!

Their ciders are great, I tried the Viking Cherry Cider and loved it so much I bought a six pack to take home, at $18 for 6 it was still absolutely well worth it. For food my coworker got the Fish and Chips, deep fried in beef tallow for those who avoid seed oils, and said it was excellent. I had a caesar salad and fries to go with my cider and it was a lovely meal. This will absolutely be one of our go-to spots when in Salem from now on.

We shared a juicy hazy IPA and an order of scotch eggs while sitting on the patio, which is shaded and comfortable with both picnic tables and bar-top seating. I was thrilled to find that the scotch eggs were not only delicious but also authentically prepared. The yolk was soft and slightly runny, and the crust was perfectly crisp and flavorful. This establishment is a true hidden gem. While the food prices are a little steep, the quality definitely makes it worthwhile. We will be back!

The house-made tartar and fry sauces were very good. A full house kept the staff busy, but they were still attentive and friendly. A band was about four songs into their set when I left. The house sound system does a great job of making sure everyone can hear the band, but the overall noise level was such that folks had to shout to have a conversation. They do post an entertainment schedule, so if you go there to visit with friends, do it when there are no bands playing. From prior experience, I highly recommend the "Dave's Insane" sandwich.
