I found a new love for iced Mexican mochas! Wow, this place is the cutest! Trendy red brick shop on a corner, easy street access parking, handicap ramp entrance, lots of windows, very spacious and decorated so nicely! Maybe it's because I had my first visit here around the holidays so I was captivated by the jolly Christmas theme, or maybe it's because they nailed an iced Mexican mocha without it feeling chalky... but this place hit the spot! Staff was very friendly and welcoming, made my drink right away and even recommended a yummy pastry - morning glory I believe it was called. So good!! I can here for a coffee to go and this place was kind of a hole in the wall amongst lots of warehouses and other large buildings. There is a couple of street parking spots nearby that are decent to park in. Inside, everything is super festive and the christmas vibes are golden. The decoration is somewhat sports bars/coffee house. The workers are super great and are willing to exchange and use alternatives for any drink. I got one of the older drinks, which was a green tea infused smoothie. Unfortunately, the drink did not have any dominating flavor, nor was it cold. I definitely would not order one of those again, but perhaps their coffee and normal tea lattes are better. Great customer service, average smoothies but definitely will need to try some of their more popular items to see. read more

You can really feel the sense of community this super cute coffee shop is trying to build. The inside (while seating is closed due to COVID) has a plethora of seats and next time I'm working on report cards, I think I'll come here. I got a cold brew French vanilla latte and an espresso vanilla latte along with a main street special burrito.  Burrito is not huge but very good.  The cold brews here are really good.  The hot expresso vanilla latte is also very good.  I preferred the the hot drink over the cold brew.  I was good energy wise for the rest of the say after enjoying them both. Staff is very friendly and happy to explain the different drinks.  I like the handle taps to pour the different cold brews.  The counter reminds me of a bar with the dark wood counter. My first visit was during the height of the pandemic, I was volunteering for Family Health Centers and needed a break from the emotional stress of it all --- when I entered, the staff immediately calmed me down with their friendly service. That's after asking the barely 22 year old kids running the place. Service was decent at best again the wait was ridiculous specially for a place that was not busy at all. My boss suggested I check out Ryan Bros Coffee before leaving San Diego. We're both really big coffee drinkers and get super excited talking about it, lol. I didn't know what to expect when walking in I was surprised to find all those taps, which happen to dispense some tasty coffee. The best part about it is that you can mix the different kinds of cold brews. I got the 20oz. Cold Brew, about 80 percent of the Raceway, and 20 percent Mexicano. The Raceway is just a plain brew. The Mexicano is sweet, with a hint of cinnamon. It was a good mix and wasn't too sweet. However, I still prefer my coffee black. It's definitely worth giving a try. It's very different from most coffee shops you'll go to. They also have baked goods, and food items. This is clearly a popular place. Lots of people were here for the food. The girl at the counter was outstanding, and spent time helping me pick out the right drink. Plenty of parking on the streets. Wifi is free, but limited to 2 hours. You need to ask the front counter for a token to access the internet. I'm not sure what would have happened if I actually needed to use their internet for a longer period. Not as good as it used to be six years ago. Thanks to the gentrification of Barrio Logan, this place is less of a refuge for me. It's mainly the annoying customers and all the annoyingly bright painted menu signs that kill it for me. The product, the food, and the overall hangout space are still worthwhile. I guess I hate change? Anyway, I remember a time when they used to serve beer and wine! It was nice to park myself with a sandwich and a glass of wine while I was doing homework with my boyfriend. Those were the days. To be fair, they pour a consistently decent cup of cold brew and they have satisfying food choices. If you're in the area and you have time to kill, this place will do the job. For me, it's the space to hang out and the addition of food that brings me back once in a while. read more

What a great coffee place in downtown!! The staff are super helpful and let you sample the different nitro brews they have on tap to ensure you love the drink you purchase. I got the cookies & creme frappe with the nitro boost and it was soooo good!!! Definitely will be coming back for their vanilla cold brew and peanut butter frappe! I really loved this place. I came here after an interview around the corner to reward myself with some food and coffee. The chicken quesadilla was perfect, and the coffee was delicious. The staff were courteous, and the bathroom clean. I love the ambience of this place. There was plenty of room to sit, and it wasn't overly crowded or noisy. The WiFi worked well. I've been looking for a new coffee shop to frequent when I write and work on my website, and I think it'll be a good workspace - quieter and more mellow than the Starbucks in Mission Valley I frequent. Personally, I'm not a huge fan or fan of coffee. I love the smell, but don't appreciate the bitter taste. I've tried coffee at many places, but never have tasted coffee that didn't taste bitter at all. Trust me when I say this. Their motto is "Life is too short to be bitter" and they carry that out very well. One of the best things about Ryan's is that they let you sample their coffee (on tap) before you buy it. They also let you mix and match different flavors. It's definitely an interesting and fun experience to experiment with the variety of flavors. I tried the Mexican mocha mixed with the caramel latte, a 1:1 ratio. It was soooo good!! Definitely would come again to try something new :) BUT you might not like their coffee if you don't like sweet tastes, because it might come off too sweet to some. read more

Then gave me a plastic glass, but once the ice melted you can see calcium and other residue at the bottom of my glass. As I was waiting for my food, a cock roach ran past me feet. Then a weird man tried to solicit sunglasses to me. By the time my Tuna Melt came, I was too afraid to eat it. There is a reason why a great place like this is empty on a Monday afternoon. One of my bestfriends introduced me to Ryan Bros Coffee and I became a huge fan in an instant! I personally prefer coming here on weekdays because of parking (street) and there are less people. I can work here and be guaranteed to have a table. This is also my go-to places to meet my friend on a random weekday. The staff is so nice here and I love the "open air" setting. Well furnished with tables and chairs. There are also some plugs which makes this place a great spot to work if needed. My go-to here is their iced latte! I've had their iced coffee and love the way they make it as well. Their coffee does a great job in keeping me awake as well. Highly recommend their innovative "Hot Draft" coffee. Smooth as cold brew, comforting as your typical hot cup. I also bought some beans to brew at home, San Diego Sunrise blend. I'm not usually a fan of dark roasts, but San Diego Sunrise really surprised me. It's not as smoky and bitter as a french roast, and it has a light cirtusy flavor profile that complements its darker character. It goes down as smooth as a medium or light roast without the need to dilute it with milk. Going to incorporate this into my regular rotation of beans for sure. For reference, I brewed my batch using 40 grams of medium-coarse grind and 4 cups of water in my Bonavita drip machine. Looking forward to my next cup! read more

Stopped in for a light lunch and caffeine boost yesterday while I was waiting on a vendor to complete a project for my client up the road. What a super cool corner warehouse spot. I ordered a West Coast panini, hot mocha latte, and double chocolate muffin (for later). The panini was pretty tasty, though I think I'd prefer it without the cilantro (it wasn't bad, just not sure I love cilantro on a panini - glad I tried it though). It didn't look that big, but I was able to get through about half of the second half of the panini before I had to tap out. The chips that came with it were thick, but surprisingly light and crispy without being greasy. The mocha latte was just ok to my surprise. I'm so used to getting it iced when I'm at Petco. I think I just prefer it that way. I look forward to going back and trying some of the brews they have on tap. It's something I'd like to check out when I've got more time. read more

The place is huge like a warehouse directly next to the Barrio Logan sign in the heart of Barrio Logan. The barista at the coffee bar was awesome. He let me sample several different kinds before I made up my mind on one. Every one that I tried was truly magically delicious. I will certainly be back.
