I was so excited to try this spot, but it did not live up to expectations, and I would rather have gone to Eller or tried the neighboring milligram next door. Their menu states that you can get eggs your way for the breakfast sandwich; however, they do not offer egg whites, which should be included in the eggs your way statement. It should specify except egg whites. Also, they were out of avocado, which was super disappointing. I don't like that their coffees or Matcha only come in one size, but the vanilla Matcha was delicious. They also do not offer many flavors for their drinks, except vanilla mocha or honey. The flavor on the croissant breakfast sandwich was good but the turkey sausage or whatever meat was included was funky and not my fav. Also, you order and then take a number and they bring you your order, except you have to go back up for your drinks, which no one told me, so our drinks were sitting out for a while, but I do really love that you can sit outside and they have live music. I always enjoyed getting food here when this spot was in Newport. Visited new location in Costa Mesa. Very cute space but hard to find parking. My biggest issue is the wait time. Ordered a plain bagel with chive cream cheese on a not so busy Monday morning. Took 15 min to get my order. When I asked about my order after 10 min, the young lady replied snooty "they are working on it". Like really? Not a thank you for your patience or sorry for the wait. So .. yes I love it it's not uncommon for me to go 4-5 times per week it's great and the customer service is lovely. My ONE beef is that the can't warm up a pastry ... which like okay fair that would add to the overall wait of every single customer .... And I know everyone is scared of microwaves whatever but it's truly criminal that I have to buy a pastry to go, then walk or drive home and THEN heat it up basically being taunted the entire time. No one in front of me, but the cashier kept taking more and more orders. Last two times I was here also waited an insane amount of time. We were THRILLED to see a Rye Goods open here! My wife and I used to travel from Anaheim Hills down to Lido Village just for that location. We recently moved and now we can walk to this one. We'll probably be here every day. The baked goods don't miss. From the breakfast burrito to the sweet scones. You really can't go wrong. This location also has a ton of indoor and outdoor seating. Came for opening day and so happy they moved to this location. Much more spacious, cute little outdoor area. Ok but let's start with the goods. First off all everything is organic, sourdough and delicious. I have a gluten allergy but I can tolerate their sourdough. I don't have flare ups or any wild stomach cramping from their sourdough which is incredible. The one thing I do wish they had were Refined Sugar Free pastries. So it is a bummer I haven't had anything other than their loafs (without the sugar) and a couple other breakfast/lunch items that also don't have sugar. Also service is AMAZING! Everyone is so friendly. Riley has helped me out a couple of times and he is such a sweetheart! All in all 10/10. If you happen to make pastries that are refined sugar free I'd give them a 12/10. read more

Got the fried chicken sandwich. Can I get some chicken with the salt? We were looking forward to trying this place out, when the food came out it was promising but unfortunately no. The fried chicken sandwich was overcooked, and extremely salty. I had to throw it out and I really tried because given how much we spent I can't be throwing out food for any reason. Very expensive for one of the worse sandwiches I have ever had. My partner had the honey mustard chicken sandwich and it was equally disappointing. $80 for 3 sandwiches and 2 coffees and 2 kids juices. 2 stars because the coffee was ok. Been here enough times to write a fair review, I think. The place is cute, and the outdoor seating is very pretty, under big old trees I wish I knew the names of. The staff is pleasant. The jalapeno-cheese bread had virtually neither. My first thought when I see things like this is that the place is more concerned with profit than quality. As an aside, I'm a business owner, so I understand the importance of profit. But quality needs to be there. The egg Provence dish had one small egg, that was burnt, and an enormous pile of peppers that sadly went in the trash because I cannot eat a dozen peppers just like that. Again the thought came to me, cutting costs to maximize profit. The baguette was much too hard to eat. I've had a few of the breads. They're not bad, but after a while they tend to taste the same. None of the breads are labeled so you have to ask what they are, I guess until you become a "local." It's not a bad place. But I doubt it would survive in the UK or EU. read more

I was recently here for Breakfast w/ a friend and I was really looking forward to eating here. The establishment is really nice the food however could use improvement. The food specifically because we didn't have any of their pasteries. We ordered the sourdough pancakes, breakfast burrito, sun-dried tomato bagel sandwhich we had ordered the egg bagel Sammy but they were out of bagels already so they suggested this sandwhich. All dishes lacked flavor, literally didn't taste like anything. The breakfast burrito has more potato's than egg. There is no option to add any meat. Overall really bland and flavorless burrito. The sandwhich was also very bland and flavorless. All you could taste were the pieces of basil the sandwhich had. You barely noticed the sun-dried tomato on the bread, absolutely had not hint of taste either. Sandwhich bread wasn't good either it had no flavor and was not toasted. The pancakes where the last item I had a little hope for but those were a disappointment too. They had no flavor whatsoever and the blueberries compote on top and maple syrup didn't help make them taste better either. Not to be mean but worst pancakes I've had anywhere. I also order a jasmine matcha latte and although the matcha has a good color you got no hint of matcha the drink itself was to sweet for my liking and tasted like fruity pepples cereal milk. I wasn't impressed with the matcha so I ordered a latte but that was even worse than the matcha. The coffee tasted very bitter and grainy. We left most of what we ordered there even my drinks only thing we finished was the burrito. I'm really not try to bash this place I really wish I were writing a spectacular review especially bc the place is really nice but it's not the place to go for food or matcha and coffee if you're really particular about how your coffee and matcha taste. read more
