    Garlic noodles, $12
    Sue S.

IMHO We love the food trucks at the South Maui Gardens in Kihei. There is so much variety for every taste bud. My hubby was craving garlic noodles and found them at Sokai Pacific Rim! One order was only $12. While ordering through a screen tablet, he accidentally ordered two orders of garlic noodles. This is what happens when your stomach is hungry and you just indiscriminately start pressing buttons. Anyways, we figured two orders would allow us to enjoy a late night snack with the extra! My husband loved the noodles. I, on the other hand, thought it lacked in garlicky flavor, and it was almost sweet. It was okay, but it was not Star Noodle garlic noodle quality. Would I return? Sure! I might try other items on their menu!

Garlic noodles are a 5/5. Only thing that brought down the rating was the boba- do not recommend tried 3 different flavors all mid for hoe expensive they are. But the garlic noodles are AWESOME and I'd come back every day if I could. Service was fast and so kind. Definitely recommend.

Garlic noodles with ribeye Prime Ribeye Steak and chicken Skewers

Absolutely one of the best things I've eaten in a long time! The garlic noodles are to die for. So much flavor, tender, perfectly cooked and some type of a crunchy garlic flaky thing on top that just is amazing. We also had the ribeye skewers and they were melt in your mouth tender as was the chicken. A little spendy, but it's Maui and it was worth it. I would go back in a heartbeat! Friendly people too. Thank you!

While at this food oasis waiting on my açaí bowl from sweet hula I could smell the garlic heaven wafting through the air and had to come back later to give them a try. The storefront is simple, modern, clean appearance, and the lady behind the register was very sweet and was excited for us to try all of the different options, service was 5/5. We ordered the chicken yakitori with rice, garlic noodles with yakitori, ribeye, and shrimp. The flavor and cook of each meat was perfect, and seasoned to perfection. Finger licking good 5/5. The only complaint was how small the portion of meat is. I expected adding $12 dollars of shrimp & $14 of ribeye would come with more skewers, so price of $22 and $25 a plate vs quantity you receive didn't really align for me. The noodles are amazing. The bread crumbs in it really put it over the top, I only wish there had been more noodles 4.75/5. Overall I rate Sokai a 4.9/5.

We ordered on the tablet, the food came out within 10 mins. We ordered the garlic noodles with chicken yakitori, came out to $20ish. Usually any garlic noodles are oily, but not these! I love the little bits of fried garlic bits, added a different texture. The chicken was perfectly charred, juicy, and was delicious.

Loved their garlic noodles. Chicken was tender Would recommend to try them when in Maui or around

This food was delicious! I am not a huge fan of ordering on the tablet just because I prefer having someone to ask questions to, but the people at the window were available if you caught them while they called ready orders. I got the garlic noodles and shrimp skewer. WOW! You can really taste the fresh garlic and seasonings and can tell it was cooked fresh on a nice hot wok. I did get garlic fatigue after a little, but it heats up well so leftovers are totally fine with me! My mom and sister didn't prefer the breadcrumbs, but I enjoyed the textural element. The gentleman working in the window was really kind as well! A great addition to south Maui gardens

Couldn't pass up the chance to get a refreshing boba tea. The banana macadamia and guava passion fruit were both refreshing!

Soy-Garlic Noodles ($12) with Garlic Shrimp Skewer ($11)

I tried the Soy-Garlic Noodles ($12) with a Garlic Shrimp Skewer ($11) from Sokai Pacific Rim, located in the beautiful oasis of South Maui Gardens, and while the dish was enjoyable overall, it didn't quite live up to its name. First off, service was great--friendly staff and my food came out fast (about 6 minutes), which is perfect when you're grabbing a quick bite. The noodles were well-cooked with a solid savory flavor and good texture. Sesame seeds and green onions added a nice touch. However, the "soy-garlic" flavor leaned heavily toward soy--the garlic was very mild and honestly hard to detect, which made the dish feel a bit misleading. The garlic shrimp were juicy and cooked properly, but again, the garlic flavor didn't really come through. Also, $11 for just four shrimp feels a bit steep, even for Maui. Portion size was decent, but overall it felt like a good dish that didn't fully deliver on its advertised flavor.

the best food truck meal I had in Maui. Great flavors, great spice and perfect kick. The shrimp was cooked to perfection, the garlic was crispy. Chef's kiss

I had Thai-Railway Fried Rice, which has diced, cooked NY steak chunks, in a bed of brown rice, as well as peas, carrots, scallions, Maui onions (yum!), with an egg over easy on top, with toasted onions. I dialed the spicyness at "medium". It was *perfect*! My wife had Pad Thai with chicken, and she left it at the default spicyness (medium), which ended up being too hot for her, but she soldiered on nevertheless enjoying the wonderful flavor. Perhaps because of the noodles and curry, the spiciness of the Pad Thai seemed much stronger than the Thai-Railway fried rice dish. Of course, we had leftovers and I'll probably end up eating hers, and she'll eat mine. The service was prompt, and the girl waiting on the tables was courteous, with a beautiful smile. The restaurant is deceptively roomy, seeming to be smaller from the outside, but once inside, it was quiet, clean, with comfortable chairs, clean tables, and large windows to enjoy some of Kihei's views (like today's gentle rain). As with most things these day on Maui, where everything comes in a shipping container, food costs are very noticable. Our meal, including thai ice tea and a soda, with a coconut ice-cream to finish it was about $44/person. Not cheap, but also not as bad as, say, Tommy Bahamas.

Once you get your food, they only show up with your bill and ask you how the meal was. They serve the food family-style but still high-end which was exactly what we were going for so we were not disappointed. Food came out a little slower than expected and by the time our Korean fried chicken main course came out we were almost full and had to take it togo. The restaurant itself is quite tiny with limited indoor seating, bar seating, and a stretch of patio seating. We were seated at the bar and had two various experiences with the two bartenders that were looking after us - the gentleman who was the bartender was extremely kind and attentive. He was engaging and made small talk with us. The female bartender was quite rude and cold, and I debated removing a star for her poor attitude and service skills. Service aside, my husband and I decided to try a few different items, including the Szechuan garlic noodles, pickled cucumbers, aji tamago, and Lion's Mane salad. All four dishes had wonderful flavor and were the perfect amount to share and leave full without being overwhelmed. I appreciated the freshness of the ingredients and the variety of spice. All in all, it was a tasty meal, but they definitely need to work on their consistency with employee service.

It has become part of our story, and every visit continues to feel just as meaningful and memorable as the first. The setting is absolutely stunning. Between the beautifully designed interior and the outdoor seating overlooking the beach in front of the Four Seasons, it creates one of the most romantic date-night settings on Maui. The food never misses the mark. We started with an English pea soup that was exquisitely seasoned and beautifully balanced. I followed with the Broiled Miso Marinated Walu, tender, delicate, mildly sweet, served with sesame sauce and crisp cucumbers that added the perfect contrast. The rack of lamb was juicy, tender, and cooked perfectly. Dessert was unforgettable: the "Spikey Lemon" calamansi cake with yuzu curd and crunchy meringue, plus freshly baked donuts that arrived crispy, warm, and drenched in a divine chocolate sauce. Pure heaven. But what truly sets Spago apart, and what makes each visit unique, is the front-of-house staff. Over the years we've been lucky enough to be served by both Jeb and Mikayla. Jeb was also our waiter on our wedding night, which made seeing him again feel especially meaningful. He has a rare gift: he makes guests feel genuinely special. His knowledge of the menu is remarkable, he reads the flow of a meal perfectly, and he is charming, funny, and effortlessly attentive without ever being overbearing. What keeps us coming back isn't just the food or the atmosphere. it's the impeccable hospitality. One moment we'll never forget: on our wedding night, after I mentioned I was Austrian, Jeb surprised us with a Kaiserschmarrn. It was unexpected, thoughtful, and one of those gestures that instantly lets you know you're more than just another table. You're valued. Thank you to the front-of-house staff, thank you to the kitchen, and thank you, Wolfgang Puck, for creating a place that has become such an important part of our lives. We'll keep coming back.

We opted for the Omakake (Tasting) Menu along with the Wine Pairing for each course. We knew it would be expensive (prices intentionally deleted), but we felt it would be a wonderful experience. We have eaten at Morimoto at Sea on several Holland America Line ships, including our recent cruise on HAL's Nieuw Amsterdam that has a dedicated Morimoto Restaurant mid-ship on deck 11 -- those meals have always been fantastic. Back to last night. Disappointment #1 -- The wine for the first course arrived 5 minutes before Course 1, the Toro Tartare. The wine had lost most of its coolness, and intended flavor and aroma, by time the dish arrived. Disappointment #2 -- The Intermezzo dish, the Sudachi cucumber sorbet was a bit sour. Other intermezzi that I have had were a slightly sweet, perhaps lime or lemon sorbet. AND they typically were paired with a splash of champagne or a sparkling brut (why not include the Morimoto Dream Rosè?) Disappointment #3 -- Course 5, the Surf & Turf, was bad! The very small portion of the Wagyu beef was Medium Well to Well Done and appeared to have been burnt over a flame. When we told our server, his comment was, "That's why I recommended the Japanese A5 Wagyu [at an additional $80 per person!]." Sorry burnt beef if burnt beef, no matter what the price. Training/Expectations seem low: Where do they get their water glasses? On the discount table at Walmart? These two are different styles on the same table; at least our two were the same style, although different from those two. And the dessert spoons -- two different styles given to us. I expect (and I am sure others also do) a much higher standard at this famous Iron Chef restaurant. DELIGHTS: Course 1 - The Toro Tartare was so tasty. We are used to a tartare to be chopped, perhaps even finely chopped, but this one was made into a puree. The toppings (caviar and rice crackers were tasty, and the rice crackers looked like little sweet ice cream toppings. Course 2 - Red Snapper Carpaccio was liked by someone who does not normally like raw fish. The light sauce added a subtle dash of flavor, and we were able to roll the pieces with chop sticks and heat an entire price at once. Course 3 - Lobster Takoyaki. The three "lobster balls" were served warm, and they were very tasty. A large piece of lobster in each roll was a true delight. Course 4 - Sushi. The 5 pieces of nigiri were Chu Toro, Hamachi, Salmon, Campachi, and Big Eye Tuna. There was a light smear of wasabi between the fish and the rice; I had already asked for more (and hotter) wasabi that I mixed with the soy sauce. We brought a few pieces of the sushi back to the condo for a later snack. Course 6 -- the dessert was so-so in my opinion. Sharon liked it, so it was probably just my tastebuds and not the actual dessert. We had planned to go back to Morimoto Maui next week for a special Wagyu and Wine pairing, but based on last night's Wagyu failure, we have cancelled the reservation. I hope that our next dinner at a stateside Morimoto restaurant (probably Morimoto Napa in 4 weeks) is a much better experience for us.
