I was so pleased with the delicious flavors, hearty portions, and all around General nature of the waitstaff. They were very helpful and explained in detail every item that I wanted and needed. We visited on a Sunday morning around 10am and waited about 30 minutes. Not bad for a Sunday morning so that was a great start. The service was fast and friendly and the food was absolutely amazing. It was great to finally find real authentic Mexican food! Everyone claims to be authentic but never lives up to the hype. My husband and I both ordered Chilaquiles Divorciados because we couldn't decide on just one flavor as they all sounded delicious. Between the two of us we tried salsa verde, mole, and habanero. The verde and mole were perfection. I wouldn't dare try the habanero but his eyes were watery and his nose was runny and he ate it all anyway. I'm assuming that means it tasted great despite the heat. The real star in my opinion besides the food was the coffee! Cafe de olla 100% authentic and housemade for sure. If not I need the brand so I can buy it at home I had 3 cups and wanted to take some to go. Definitely check this place out. My bf got chilaquiles divorciados which basically if you can't decide you can choose 2 types. He got the flavors Bravos and Mole. He also added chicken and eggs. So the food is fine here. The problem is that it's a 12 dollar dish that you'd get at another Mexican place for 8. So it tastes good. I just expected more. They also have guacamole and it is an incredibly small amount. The margarita also tasted really week and watered down and wasn't fresh lime juice. Final assessment: this place is fine. But I was expecting better. I would go back if I was going out with a group of people and they all really wanted to go here. But if I'm choosing, I'm not going back here. Visited Sabor Cocinabar to celebrate Mother's Day with my wife & 3 kids (19, 15 & 5 years old) We have a thumbs up, thumbs down rating as a family. We give it 5 thumbs up! The menu is what we've been looking for in a long while. True Mexican Food with a menu that isn't overwhelming with choice after choice. Everyone loved the food. The portions were true to the price & we left the building fully satisfied with a small take home container. The service and food were amazing. We sat at the bar and the staff was really helpful and recommended great options. They even would offer to serve items as a side to taste, the asado de puerco. This is was my first time at Sabor Cocinabar for dinner - I had only been for brunch before. Brunch was lovely so I thought let me try dinner. Wow - what a negative experience. First my girlfriend and I ordered Micheladas - they were so watered down, so we asked for more michelada mix. It was not salvageable. For our next drink we got margaritas on the rocks. Margaritas were syrup-y messed ... and $10 for approx 7oz (no price on menu). For dinner we got the tampiqueña to share. The waiter informs us that instead of a skirt steak topped poblanos it will be a ribeye for $5 bucks more (for whatever reason). We accepted. We got a ribeye that had 0.000 seasoning. All the table salt in the world was not helping.. Tortillas came out so much after - it was just no good. The enchilada, to its credit, was amazing. We ended up paying 60$ for 2 people who shared a plate and each item was terrible, which is so unfortunate because the brunch was so nice (only reason for the extra star). This is a cute place. My Mexican friends love this place for Chilaquiles. So they took me here for Sunday brunch. I ordered Chilaquiles-Divorciados (En Chipotle & Mole) with Asado, which was my friend's recommendation. I liked it. But I got only 3 pieces of Asado meat. Even the nachos topped with fresh mashed black beans were very full of flavor! And then that dessert with that soft donut pastry and the sauce... I can still taste every bite! Sabor Cocinabar has definitely earned their high ratings and reviews. It's true when they say that Mexican restaurants can be judged on the quality of their salsa and this restaurant is no exception. Their salsa was packed full of flavor with a slight tang. It's spicy enough to keep the interest of spice lovers but not so spicy that it should deter those who do not do well with spicy foods. I am a coffee lover and detest weak keureg coffee that tastes more like flavored water. You will find that kind of coffee with most restaurants, not with Sabor Cocinabar. The coffee has good strength, the appropriate color and texture that comes with quality coffee, and they provide actual cream and/or milk. For my meal, this place is know for their chilaquiles, so I ordered the chilaquiles Jalisco, which is a must for pork lovers. It is the BEST chilaquiles I have ever tasted and I have lived in Texas for 16 years, San Antonio for 3.5 years. The food was hot, with lots of "Sabor" (flavor) and came out quickly. The only thing I wish I would add to the plate is eggs. I will definitely be returning and bringing out of town guests looking for authentic Mexican cuisine. read more

I wish I could give 10 stars as an update. This tine we came to eat and my husband had to take an emergency call. He was outside for about 10 minutes and his food was getting cold. At first I asked for it to be placed under a heat lamp to stay warm. Once my husband returned he was given a brand new plate. He had already eaten half of his original meal. I love the new location. Beautifully landscaped and decorated with excellent enchiladas make me feel I'm in Mexico. I enjoy eating there every other weekend. It's a great spot to take family and friends. It's a famous place, so in the mornings go early or later in the day if you don't want to have a long wait. It is a huge restaurant serving 100s of customers at a time, but they do not compromise in quality. The filete de pescado a la plancha was out of the world.
