Very disappointed in the service. We hosted a birthday party and once food was delivered, we never saw servers again. No water refills, no options for anything extra, nothing. Then we were forced to pay a 20% gratuity on each ticket because of being a large group when the service was below par. I was only given ONE glass of water. I voiced my complaint but was told with large parties the assistant usually helps and they automatically charge gratuity. Maybe you need a new assistant? Only save was the food was great. read more

We have been on the hunt to find some good Mediterranean food in Tulsa and we found some really tasty things at Saffron. Their tabouli is some of the best I've had in awhile - vibrant, fresh, and flavorful. The falafel platter was also very delicious. They use a unique blend of spices (not as much parsley/cilantro) to give it a different taste. The pickled vegetables on the side of the platter were amazing!! Unfortunately we thought we were getting those same pickled veggies when we ordered a side of them, but sadly, they were completely different. Located in a small little plaza adjacent to a vape shop and apartments. The setting is more of a fancy place with dim lights and a very clean interior. We went In with a curious toddler who wanted to lay on the booth seat. So we rushed to pack our food to go after a couple bites since we didn't want to disturb the other guests. We ordered Hummus with pita bread. It had plenty of thin pieces of pita bread cut into triangles and hummus with seasoning/oil mixed in. I wasn't too fond of it as I've never had a hummus as thin as this before. But the taste wasn't too bad. My husband had the Lamb shank. It came with pickled cabbage, saffron rice, large delicious tender lamb shank with grilled vegetables and a sauce to rehydrate the lamb. We loved it so much! It was definitely tasty, even when it was packed and eaten at home. I got the 3 meat combo. Omg, I loved it a lot!! I got the ground beef kabob, steak kabob, and Gyro meat. It came with rice, pickled cabbage, tzatziki sauce, grilled veggies. I loved the flavors and it wasn't overwhelming in seasoning at all. It was quite tasty and the sauce was perfect. I also ordered the Baklava. In my honest opinion, it wasn't really worth the price I paid for it. It was super tiny. But I know it's a dessert that takes time to make, but it wasn't worth the price. The hardest part of writing a review is yelping the truth about restaurants you respect. The hope is help not hurt. Eating here often, my family and adore this Mediterranean restaurant. Family owned, quality is in the recipe, yet sometimes its a miss...this is the miss (with hopes for change) We ordered the saffron combo one with chicken and steak side of veggies, the other with steak and gyro side of fries. The order came out wrong. A simple mix-up easily fixed. The waiter brought out another plate so I can put the veggies on it and switch my sides with fiancé. All was well. The food however, was salty. An inedible level of salt, I had to stop eating. Never finished meal. Both meats, the steak and gyro was salty for myself and fiancé. Server polietly asked if everything was good and I told him the situation. He reported it to the owner to see if there was a chance to help. She came to the table concerned and wanted to understand the problem with the food. She said many have ate the food but no one has ever said the food was salty. She offered a dessert to balance the saltiness. Her attempt to help the matter lightened the moment. I will revisit and try the food again. When I do return in the distant future. I love Saffron. The service is great and carry out as well. I loved every dish we had and its a nice quiet atmosphere.

Had lunch there last week with a coworker. The location is in a strip mall on Harvard but the signage makes it pretty easy to find. The inside is very cute and clean. I had the Falafel Wrap and my friend had the Gyro platter. Both were very good. I love Falafels but a lot of places make them too dense, these were not. They were light and just the right amount. Their Tzatziki sauce was nice and refreshing, though I like mine with a little more garlic. The service was very fast and friendly which worked out great for a lunch date. After lunch they gave us each a piece of baklava which was a little dry but still very good. We will definitely be going back. read more

Not gonna lie, this was the best Gyro I've had in Tulsa. The fries are pretty great too. The only thing holding me back from posting 5 stars was the chicken soup. The outside looks a little obscure, inside is nice and comfortable with nice seating. We ordered the cabage roles ( which was excellent) lamb shank ( which came out cold, I ask them to warm it up. And afterwards it actually tasted good.) falafel wrap ( which tasted good but not enough falafel in it)and saffron chicken ( this again tasted good and had nice flavoring, but was undercooked. The waiter was nice but very busy. They had a lot of take out orders which kept him busy, leaving less t ime with the dine in customers. They need to have more servers so their waiters aren't overworked. There are many mediterranean restaurans available and prompt service will help maintain return service. Overall we will probably only order takeout from here. I do recommend that you give it a try and make your own decisions. Definitely, give a once try restaurant. read more

Fabulous new Persian/Iranian restaurant in Midtown Tulsa. The owners are the same as Shish Kabobs in East Tulsa. We had their 3 meat Saffron Platter ($20) which came with Koobideh, Shish, and Chicken along with basmati rice and grilled vegetables. The Chicken and Shish were both quite tasty, and we thought the Koobideh meat tasted the best. It was tender, juicy, and had a delicious flavor all around. There is a bar inside that serves beer and wine, and there is always soothing music being played in the background. The decorations inside are quite fancy and definitely a more upscale version of Shish Kabobs with the food being just as wonderful. Service was very friendly and quick, and they made sure our waters were always refilled. The only thing missing from our experience was that they did not have Doogh available yet (Persian yogurt drink), which we really wanted to sample. Would definitely come back to try more of their specialty dishes next time! read more

I am really happy to let you in on some great food. The food here is fresh, bright and so tasty. It's a very chill atmosphere and the servers are friendly. I want you to try the hummus, so good. This is a new restaurant, so they are still working out a few things, but they truly strive to make your visit relaxed and enjoyable. The owners also own Shish KaBobs on Garnett. Both restaurants are great, this one is much more upscale. Saffron is located around 32nd and Harvard. The outside is not much to look at, but the inside is lovely. I come from a family that prepares a lot of traditional Persian and Armenian food, and I can't say enough good things about Saffron! The homemade pita and rice taste exactly like the recipes from my aunt's kitchen and you can tell they take pride in careful preparation to get the flavors just right. The meat is tender and melts in your mouth and the spices are perfect. The tabouli is crisp and refreshing. I personally enjoyed the hummus the most, and couldn't stop going back for more. Given that this is my first visit I'm delighted, and can't wait to try more traditional food that will reminds me of my family out west. Thank you Saffron! read more
