The best almond croissant I have ever eaten. There is melted caramelized sugar butter outside. The inside was as a croissant should be. The almond paste was not pasty but heavenly. It really was the best almond croissants I have ever eaten. The blueberry muffin had lots of muffin top and the flavor of blueberries came through brightly. We came every morning on our trip to Santa Fe! The bread is incredible. We loved the pecan raisin roll toasted with butter. The eggs on toast are great and a surprisingly large amount of food. I had one of the best cookies of my life there the other day (oatmeal raisin). It took me two days to finish it, it was so rich. Anytime i go to Santa Fe, i look forward to stopping by Sage because : 1) the quality of their bread and pastries is like none other 2) exceptional customer service 3) online ordering platform and a pick up window is excellent for those who continue to avoid C19 and/or not wait in line also had a tuna/pesto panini and it was exceptional. thank you Sage Bakehouse for the miracles you make. read more

Sage Bakehouse is a jewel! After years of visiting Santa Fe we stumbled on it. Now it is our top stop when we visit. The staff is wonderful and the breads and sandwiches are exquisite! Love the location (away from the tourist areas) and the atmosphere. read more

Enjoyable bake shop in Santa Fe that has pastries as well as more substantial items. It is counter service and they give you a number. Seating options indoor felt cramped. There is also outdoor seating. On-site parking was limited with several cars waiting for spaces. The almond croissant was reportedly the best seller. I found it out to be fresh and quite good. Not the best I have had but certainly one of the better almond croissants. I also had the apple tart which I found to be OK. Coffee was good. If you can find parking, this is worth a stop. read more

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Patrons are super nice but the staff is beyond stuck up and totally rude. Found a roadside greasy spoon diner a few miles away with more class. "Sage" Diner just because you got a fancy name doesn't mean your anything but a fancy name! We spent our money elsewhere! read more

I was really excited to go to Sage Bakehouse. A local bakery with clean and fairly sourced ingredients and a small, curated menu? Yes please! Sadly, when it came to flavor, it just didn't meet my expectations. The staff at Sage was helpful in recommending food. I went with the scrambled egg tartine with avocado and cheese. The presentation was beautiful but, when it came to flavor, it was just... underwhelming. Everything was bland, which was such a disappointment given how excited I was to visit them. For dessert, I had the vanilla bean cream cheese danish, which came with an apricot jam. Sadly, this was even more of a disappointment. Again, it had very little taste. The danish was largely hollow and I found myself searching desperately (and unsuccessfully) for the vanilla bean cream cheese. I ate a few bites while the apricot jam lasted, opened it up in search for the creamy goodness I wanted to believe was there, and gave up after I saw there was none to find. Overall, there are much better places to go in Santa Fe that offer similar in-house bakery experiences. The flavorlessness of the food simply doesn't make the visit or the money worthwhile. Perhaps their loaves of bread are delicious and worth it, but skip Sage and go elsewhere if you want a meal. read more

If the smell of bread flowing from the open windows doesn't get you inside, then you should just trust that the coffee and pastry options does not disappoint. My father (who cherishes good coffee) was thoroughly impressed with his "very very very dry cappuccino" coffee I'd say is the best reason to get over here, also, their bread smells and tastes quite good and fluffy. Love, love love this place! Was in Santa Fe on vacation last week and had a short list of other bakeries to try but Sage was directly across from hotel so admittedly decided on convenience. So glad that I did. The eggs on toast with fresh avocado was delicious - and the bread - simply drool worthy. Yummy latte' as well. Hubby and I also each had a slice of cake - portions were amazing (big!) and the staff was possibly some of the best and nicest - EVER! So friendly and kind. The décor is simple and clean - I liked it! Very cozy. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone visiting the Santa Fe area. read more

Visited Santa Fe for spring break with the family, and looooved this place! We stayed nearby and just dropped in on a whim for breakfast. So glad we did! The Tartines were amazing, and very filling. All the yes. So glad this was my last stop on the way out of town. My gruyere and ham quiche was melt in your mouth magical. I asked if they had flavored lattes and he said he could do chocolate. We are obsessed with Sage. These artisans are serious about their carbs. Everything is good but if I had to get into the details I would say that: the open faced sandwiches are a tad on the greasy side. The pastries are delicious and rich but some are better than others. The real star of the show are the breads. Bread Bread Bread. And butter. And jam. The flaky croissants are also amazing. Croissant. Croissant. Croissant. The service here is also awesome. I've never been to France but I know what a croissant should taste like and this isn't it. The ham and cheese sandwich was tasteless. Nothing on it but ham, cheese and the bread was ROCK HARD. Tasteless! After reading all the reviews, I have come to the conclusion that nobody in Santa Fe has any taste. I have had Sage's bread and I like that but their restaurant food sucks. We discovered Sage Bakehoue quite by accident. And decided to go there because of a similarly-named establishment where we live. So no expectations. Pleasantly surprised when we walked in. Delicious aroma of freshly baked breads and a small but comprehensive menu of breakfast/brunch items. We had Avocado toast with crisp Serrano ham, scrambled eggs on toast with avocado, ham & gruyere tart and a kale & gruyere tart. Loved them all. A latte and chai latte rounded out the meal. Seating is tight BUT the food and staff make up for it. It's a nice breezy place which is important in these times. Who doesn't want a place that smells like a buttery croissant?!? Coffee was so good, baked goods like Pain au Chocolat were amazing and the avocado smash hit the spot. All well done and made just right! I had a picky eater in tow and even he gave it a thumbs up. This European style bakery has so many choices, it's hard to decide. We visited early on New Years Eve, and knew they'd be closed for 2 days, so bought enough to last through. Or so we thought! We ate the muffins immediately, and the pecan wreaths the same night. And heating up the quiches for breakfast today! Everything is fresh and baking goes on continuously, but get there early or you'll miss out! We're picking up some more goodies on Tuesday on our way back to Texas! Do not go to Sage Bakery with a Service dog. They won't let Service Dogs indoors and the help refused to read the law which I have on my phone for this very reason. I wanted to educate them on the law and they refuse to listen. It appears that they have no education of the law and are unwilling to listen or read the law. I have spent over three thousand dollars going there three times a week for the eight months I have been here and they suggested that I go outside to eat yesterday and it was 27°! They didn't tell me to leave until after I bought and paid for my breakfast... which is retty bad Today I went to the San Francisco Street bar and Grill , instead of Sage, and they were very knowledgeable about Service Dogs , and even said that the law says that you're not even allowed to ask if it's a service dog. They were very friendly and they welcomed my dogs I won't go back to Sage bakery. I don't want to eat outdoors alone in sub, freezing weather and frankly, I was offended. By the way they treat me... I'm 78 years old and when I was growing up, you were taught to respect your elders. Sage bakery is definitely not a dog friendly establishment. I will never go to Sage bakery again... I do not want to eat alone outdoors in 27° weather and we know it's gonna get a lot colder than that. read more

Happiness to me is warm, crusty bread from the Sage Bakehouse. A loaf of their bread, butter, and a bottle of wine. Ahh--nothing could be better. Really though, their bread is the best. The aroma of their fresh bread baking is heavenly. Their lunches cannot be beat either. Their spinach quiche is delectable. Their sandwiches are delicious as well. Everything is reasonably priced. LOVE this bakery! Staff is friendly (usually), and the baked goods are consistently wonderful. Best almond croissant in town, hands down. I love their kale quiche, flourless chocolate goodies and just about everything in the case. Wish they had some gluten-free items, and yes, they are pricey. Sage has the best almond croissant ever tasted. The cinnamon melt coffee cake was great too, my mom thought so. They also has delicious sandwiches. My favorite choice is smoked turkey and Irish cheddar. Aside from their delicious menu, their service is great. The staff are very friendly so you surely would come back. read more
