My kids love vermicelli so we ordered several of the beef and egg roll vermicelli plus a chicken fried rice to go. Everything looked good, nice and fresh, if not hot after the drive (but not their fault - we live a little further away). Portions were good. The egg rolls were a little different than I expected but tasty. The fish sauce was completely flavorless. We loooove fish sauce and this was the most disappointing I've had. The beef was moderately good - not great, but had flavor. I'm really bummed about the sauce since it is such an important component to tie the dish together. Tried this new restaurant yesterday. I really liked their super large menu. It was hard to pick an initial menu item to start with because the selection was so large. I had the Vermicelli noodles with beef, pork and chicken and a won ton soup. My wife had a beef pho. Both were excellent and large portions. The eggroll was also delicious and freshly cooked. We also both had smoothies to go, I had a strawberry coconut one and my wife the raspberry coconut and they were very delicious. We also took a sandwich home for our son who said it was amazing. They have children in the kitchen and only one waiter who is working the tables and to go orders. It was total confusion with customers looking at each other on how short staff they are. We just moved here from So Cal which is home to little Saigon and some amazing Vietnamese/Thai/Asian cuisine and let me tell you I've never had better food than Saigon Basil. I've had the Vietnamese egg rolls, crab wontons and combo Bun vermicelli. The sweet and sour sauce that comes with the wontons is scratch made and not over sweet. It's mild, almost like a jelly consistency, and sooo delicious. Fried to perfection, not greasy but light and airy!! So awesome. An addition to the Covid 15, I'm going to have the Saigon basil 15 because I'm going to crave this food, I already want more. And they have a drive through pick up window!! How convenient is that ? I didn't know that the herbs that came with phó is optional. Ordered uber eats from this place. Got the broth in a small container AND was missing all the herbs and everything else. This is our go to restaurant for take out! Their ingredients are fresh and food is so tasty. I love that their grilled meats are lean and burn is minimal. Other restaurants I would have to peal the fat and burnt bits off. Also their portions are huge. The big plus is they also have a drivr-thru. Me being a mom of a toddler now truly appreciates this because I can easily pick up my food without having to take out my toddler from his car seat and putting him back in. Time saved. So disappointing as I work so close and wish I can use this restaurant as a quick pick up. I was warned that they take forever to prepare meals AND drinks, therefore I called in advance. They told me it would take 5-10 minutes. I waited 10 minutes before arriving. They literally had two tables (one waiting for food and the other finishing up) and they asked me to go ahead and pay. I then asked how much longer it would take since I was in a hurry during lunch, and they said 5 more minutes. I literally ordered a lychee green tea with tapioca...that's as simple as it gets. I've given this restaurant multiple tries since they have opened (at least 10 times). I have really tried to be a supporter of a local business. I don't like leaving bad reviews. Unfortunately, more often than not, I've been disappointed. Whether I've dined in, ordered takeout upon arrival, or called an order in advance, it has taken a ridiculous amount of time to get my food. In the beginning, I was patient and understanding because they were still trying to figure things out. The food is okay/decent. It's not worth the wait we have had to do. We come here to support a mom and pop owned Asian restaurant nearby. But considering the time it takes to get our food, I'm done giving this place any more chances. I might as well drive 30-40 minutes away because by the time I get there, I would still get my food before coming here. Please focus less on the number of items on your menu and focus more on getting good quality food to your customers in a timely manner. Edit: my last visit, I called when I arrived in the parking lot and the food was not ready within the window they gave me so I waited 15 more minutes (as they asked me to) before pulling through the drive thru. Pros- The restaurant is very nice, decor is cute and the staff was very friendly. They were busy with to go and dine in customers. The amount of food for your money was amazing. The Con- the orange chicken had a great sauce but it was soooo dry. I'm not sure if they cooked a large batch or what happened. I couldn't get past a few bites with it. Great new place close to home. I stopped by tonight after seeing so many of my neighbors reviews about it on Nextdoor. They just opened and are still under construction. The cool thing is they are offering 10% off until December 24th. There was only 1 waiter but he was moving quick and making sure he helped everyone who came in. Our food came out pretty quickly and was really tasty. There were a good amount of people coming in for to-go orders and most of the tables were full. I've tried this place many times and they just get stingier with their serving size! I placed an order of 2 Pho and 1 spring roll. I noticed this time that the Pho broth was filled a little over half way.
