I vividly remember how the owner John took such great care of not only the customers but also the staff, greeted us every time and remembered our favorite orders! Our family has been coming here for over 7 years from middle school until college. We've celebrated birthdays, graduations, reunions, and just about everything here. Even after visiting amazing places all over Gardena and Koreatown, our family always returns here for a warm bowl of phenomenal pho, their exceptional quality and unforgettable taste just never changes. We always order their pho #13A, - #9 my mom's favorite (which is pho but with tendons, lean beef, and more!), - #21A my brother's favorite (which we've always fought over ordering), - #23 my favorite since middle school, and - #24 Bun Cha our family favorite!! Even if we all ordered a bowl of pho or noodles, we always have to order the #24 Bun Cha to share, and it's great to pack and eat the next day! Each dish is generously portioned, where a regular size can be shared between 2 people, and usually comes with an additional plate of vegetables depending on the dish! Over the past 7 years, their prices have always been low and affordable, perfect for night outs for both big families/parties (6+) and couples (2) with a wide variety of seating! Not only has their prices remained low, dishes always came within 15-20 min even with a full house (with a wait-time of 30-40 min at most)! There were times where our family would come within 20 minutes of closing (which should not be done), but the owner knew we usually ate quickly and ordered! I was visiting LA for work and had a craving for Vietnamese food. While I had to have to food delivered by DoorDash due to my working schedule, the food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. Delivery was through DoorDash and moved as fast as LA traffic allowed. I ordered a Thai tea, banh xeo and a spring roll sampler. The sampler was more than enough and offered a large variety of proteins to try! My only disappointment was the fact the website did not note that the Banh Xeo was a weekend only item and still allowed you to order the item. I was not notified by the shop or dasher that the item would not have been included nor opted to swap out for something else: it wasn't until my order arrived that I noticed it was missing and had to call the restaurant to have this addressed, John was very quick to apologize and offer to refund the item, which was another mishap on its own, but quickly resolved with the shop. This was my first time trying this restaurant! I just moved to the South Bay and it's been hard for me to find really good Asian food. I am glad I found this location! There is parking in the complex, but shared with other businesses. The restaurant is small, probably would be tight for a bigger party. We got seated right away for a table for 2 on a Friday evening. I was little overwhelmed because about 30 seconds after we sat down, we were asked what we would like to order (we haven't even looked at the menu yet). I've never been here before and I wanted to order different options to taste a variety. After the first person asked us what to order, 2 different servers came to ask us right away. I felt very overwhelmed and rushed (like they wanted us in and out of there). We ordered grilled pork spring rolls, filet mignon pho, and banh xeo. Banh xeo is only served on the weekends as a special. The springs rolls were delicious and flavorful! The pho was also very delicious and savory! I really liked the broth! I was a little disappointed in the banh xeo. I think it was fill too much with bean sprouts. You can see in one of my photos the excess bean sprouts I took out. Also, it was missing more pickled veggies. When I've tried banh xeo in other locations, I loved the contrast of the pickled veggies. The place was packed on a Saturday evening, but we placed our name on the Yelp waitlist and were seated fairly quickly. Menu wise - they have all the regular staples you'd find at most pho restaurants. I was looking for some veg friendly options and they offer a vegetarian pho dish along with spring rolls that were easily veganized by adding tofu. My veg pho was packed with goodness. A hearty veg broth with thick pieces of tofu along with plenty of veggies, topped with fried onions. The bowl came piping hot and gets a big thumbs up from me. Service here was really attentive too. Where has this been all my life! I've always said there wasn't really any good Vietnamese places near me in Southbay LA, so I was so shocked to see Saigon Dish have 4.5 Stars with over 2,000 reviews! We checked via Yelp as well which was definitely useful for a cold night in December, and waited around 35-45 minutes for a table. It was completely packed when we walked in but the service was super fast. We ordered their #17B Mi Kho which was a dry egg noodle, and their #34B which was their vermicelli cake sampler platter which included egg rolls, grilled beef, pork meatballs, and sugar cane shrimp, perfect for sharing! Both dishes were flavorful and if you've only ever had pho before, then I would definitely recommend expanding your palette and try these dishes!
