I cannot even express how truly amazing Saigon Eatery is. It's a true gem and hidden treasure in the Torrance community. I always get the Oxtail Pho which is served fresh and hot with the mouth watering Oxtail meat falling off the bone and literally melt in mouth food. My brother love coming to Saigon Eatery for breakfast. They are the only great pho place open early. We enjoy that the soup broth isn't greasy, the bowls are nice and big. Great portion and best of all, great taste. We love the various fruity choices if lemonade tea, but I LOVE the Vietnamese coffee most. read more

The 1 star is SPECIFICALLY referring to the popcorn chicken I had the misfortune of ordering. I originally found this place when was looking for Oxtail Pho, which was great. As well as other things on the menu like their garlic noodles and bahn mi, all solid menu items. But today I was craving popcorn chicken and I had no reason to believe from multiple visits, that they would disappoint...Well, color me disappointed. These were more like mini chicken nuggets scattered amongst some under-seasoned steak fries. And to top it all off, it was like a handful of each. They charge $10 for this kid sized let down. Recently moved to Torrance, trying out new pho spots. This place was delicious and had the biggest portions. So much meat in my bowl (I got the Saigon pho) and my boyfriend got the oxtail pho which was the star of the show. We also got the Saigon fries which were perfectly crispy, cheesy, and the meat on top was well seasoned. We had double portions essentially and now have so many leftovers for dinner. Wow. Impressed. You order at the counter and then sit. The servers bring you your plates, and everyone was kind. Had a coconut coffee and a strawberry hibiscus tea to close out our meals. The good here is fantastic. My wife got the ox tail pho. The OT was cooked to perfection, falling from the bone. I got the "Pick Two" pho with brisket and ribeye. It was delightful. My daughter just got the brisket pho, her opinion was great. The customer service was on par to other Vietnamese restaurants we have visited. Overall we really enjoy this spot. Parking was easy. You pay at the counter and find your own seat. Service was quick and friendly. Their pho broth is a little on the herby side which I didn't mind. It's better than most other pho spots around but Saigon dish is still the #1 spot in the South Bay. Spring rolls were good. Their egg rolls were decent. read more

The good: I got banh mi thit and egg rolls catered to my house for my kid's birthday from here. It was so convenient and my guests loved that we had Vietnamese food. The egg rolls tasted good and authentic. This is one of the few Vietnamese places in this area that offers catering trays. 18 half grilled pork sandwiches was under $50 and the egg roll tray was under $60. They also delivered. I liked that the egg rolls came with lettuce. The sandwiches weren't dry. They threw in 4 free Thai iced tea drinks! The bad: My mom didn't care for the Vietnamese sandwiches but she's quite picky. They would've tasted better toasted at home I think. I called and asked if the order could be delivered earlier at 10:30 instead of 11:15 and the man said yes but this didn't happen. Nice option for pho, we loved that it's only option around open at 9am vs 10 or 11am for when we want a weekend breakfast pho fix! Enjoyed the Saigon beef broth pho the most of all the options so far. Broth was quite good with decent kick to it - I like to add the jalapeño slices that are available on the side to spice it up. Looks like a food court restaurant. In the same plaza as a car rental company and huge car wash. Fast service, pretty good portions, good prices. Pho broth was super flavorful and came out piping hot. The meats weren't anything special but lots of noodles made it very filling. Vietnamese iced coffee is dark and potent. The flavor is at least. I took a sip and it was super roasty. Food comes out pretty fast. One con is that most things come in disposable containers so a lot of plastic waste even though we were eating there. read more

Torrance Food Crawl #416 Saigon Eatery is located in a small strip mall. There is seating inside, a couple of tables on the outside sidewalk, or take-out. There is a general selection of Vietnamese dishes, and there should be something acceptable to just about everyone. My favorite dishes have been the Garlic Noodles and Vermicelli Noodles. Very good with shrimp or beef. The Phở's are also well worth trying. The shrimp and beef versions were delicious. Also, it's nice to have oxtail as an option, giving some indication that these dishes have authentic Vietnamese origins. The Bánh Mì Sandwiches are decent, and there is an option with Spam & Egg for something a little on the different side. Don't let the small size of the restaurant turn you away. All the foods are very good and easily comparable to similar fare in larger or better-known Vietnamese restaurants. Service has usually been excellent. In the past, there were some people taking orders who had a minimal knowledge of English, but recently that hasn't been a problem. There is plenty of parking. read more

First time at Saigon Eatery. I ordered the Bahn Mi sandwich with pork and Thai Iced Tea, and both were very good. The server was very friendly and the service was quick and efficient. The restaurant is clean and feels airy due to the high ceiling and tall windows which extend the height and width of the front of the shop. Feels like a quick lunch spot more than a sit down restaurant though there are about 10 tables inside and a few more outside if you want to dine in. The workers here at least the 4 that I saw were all extremely young. They looked like they all belong in high school. They were very slow in anything they did. During my whole time here I the resturant the phone kept going off and they ignored it quite a few times. The inside of the resturant nice and clean, no complaints from me. My wife used their bathroom but the door did not lock so I had to stand outside which is annoying and not suitable for any ladies wanting to use the restroom. The food took quite a long time to come out. We sat down for awhile before the appetizers came out. 2 of us got the pho lunch special and it comes with a fried veggie eggroll. It took 15 minutes just to get 2 veggie spring rolls which were fresh and hot. When taking a bite out of them the inside was just mushy veggies and tasted like they were soaked in soy sauce. Then the spring rolls came out and they looked ok. After tasting they were decent. My only complaint about them is there wasn't enough peanut sauce, just a little dish not enough for all of our rolls. My wife ordered the combination fried rice. It came and it looked nice and hot. Upon tasting it for myself it tasted extremely salty. The proteins in it (Chinese sausage,shrimp,chicken) were almost inedible with the exception of the Chinese sausage. The shrimp was extremely over cooked and the chicken was cut thin and wide, like jerky and was just as dry as jerky. My FIL and I ordered the combination pho. The pho was extremely lackluster and was missing some components commonly in combo pho (pho dac biet) it was missing tendon,flank and meatballs (sometimes not always in pho dac biet) The meat to noodle ratio is extremely terrible, had at least 8 bites of noodles left and no more meat. The broth was so bland no flavor at all except for the over abundance of sweetness from the sugar. Being part vietnamese myself I love alot of pho whether its super delicious or just ok. This pho is not even in the "just ok" realm its terrible, its a disgrace to pho everywhere. Even if you are the type to put Hoison/Sriracha in the broth it will not save it. FIL says this place uses to be good but I guess things have changed since his last visit all those years ago. You could pick almost any other pho restaurant and I am 99.99% sure it would be better than here. If you value your time,money, and taste buds please stay clear of this place by any means necessary.

Service was just as disappointing--they barely checked on us but still expected a tip. Honestly, I don't recommend this place. If you're going to spend that much, go somewhere else where the food actually has flavor and is worth your money.

I fainted and when I came to my wife was by my side and the tall blonde manager/owner took the time out to stop by, sit down, and check on me, actually chit-chat-(that helps me a lot).
