My first impression as I walked in was it's a cute place that's decorative. Interesting art pieces. Clean and the staff came up and greeted me right away which was nice. The food is the best! I love the egg rolls and the pho. If you get the egg rolls without the veggies, they give you six instead of 5 and they are tasty and huge. Their broth is one of the best out there so it makes all of the pho super tasty. This place gets five stars from me because it's been my go-to Vietnamese food place for over a decade. It's affordable and consistent. They're owned by the same people who started Golden Deli except without the wait. Their menu is completely the same too. Some of my favorite dishes are their Pho Tai, Beef Stew with Rice Vermicelli, and Chicken with Rice Noodle Soup. They're great for take-out or dine-in. They have free parking in the back or you could park on the street right in the front. If you're looking for a quality place to get Vietnamese food, this is the place to go. read more

I grew up in Westminster area, and this is the closet you can get to little Saigon in the LA area. It's hidden away in a small plaza on valley, and serves up a ton of authentic Vietnamese food from com tam, to pho, and a bunch of Vietnamese staples. My favorite thing to eat here is the Hu Tieu Tom Cua Kho (Dry rice noodles with shrimp and a small crab claw). The dish comes with a soy/fish sauce vinaigrette and a side of soup. It's very comforting, and I order a side of wontons to complete the dish. Go here if you're craving Vietnamese food. read more

Saigon Flavor is underwhelming. The food is average compared to other places and the service is sadly (surprisingly) worse than what you would expect in the 626. SERVICE 2/5 * FOOD 3/5 * QUALITY 2.5/5 We were seated with a simple hand gesture from a woman standing stationary behind the counter in the back of the store. We sat down and well...no one looked at us. A server walked by to take an order from the table behind us and with a breeze did not hand us any menus from the empty adjacent tables after that. So, we grabbed them ourselves. I ordered the pho tai and got the ribeye upgrade for $9.25. We also ordered eggrolls and my dad ordered bún cho tôm tht nng. Our eggroll order as requested came out first and only two sets of plates and fishsauce bowls were given for the 4 of us. There wasn't enough herbs and lettuce for our eggrolls and we had to ask for extra plates. The ribeye for the pho was low quality, either it wasn't cut against the grain or just cheap because it was too thick and chewy, almost like gum. It didn't taste like quality, fresh beef either. The soup was dark and muddy, nothing special to it. I added quite a few limes in order to lighten it but even the limes were overtaken by the stock. My dads cho tôm didn't taste amazing either, just average to none and he said his tht nng wasn't tasty or well marinated either. Despite actually having parking and a decent location on valley, Saigon Flavor doesn't meet up to expectations. However, if you're in a pinch for some ok pho and Vietnamese food you could get your fix. Im glad the decor and seating was updated and clean though :) Ps. Perfect alternative to Golden Deli when it's just too busy! The pho is pretty close but my typical order here are the vermicelli bowls and the bo luc lac (red rice with filet mignon). That, they have on Golden Deli. Consistent big bowls with tons of flavor. Our choice is with the egg roll, shrimp paste and grilled pork. Great flavor on the pork and egg roll is delish perfect with the mix of greens and vermicelli. I'm particular about bo luc lac and this rice is seasoned well and juicy beef that comes with the little salt & pepper mix (read: probably msg) to sprinkle on top. While Golden Deli is number one in my heart because of nostalgia, this is definitely a repeat consistent place for Vietnamese! read more

Considering this place is in my area, I never actually stopped by to try their food. Well, finally, I grabbed lunch here with a few friends. Parking is located in the back down a short driveway; spots are limited, but there were plenty available when we arrived. Once you walk into the restaurant, we were immediately greeted and shown to our table. The waitress who took our order was very nice and had a friendly attitude. The decor surrounding the place was also nice as it had lots of artwork and there was one of a huge waterfall; very pretty. The restrooms are clearly marked and located towards the back of the restaurant. Food came fairly quickly for us. I ordered 44A which was the Shrimp Paste and Grilled Pork & Egg Roll with Rice Vermicelli; it's also served with a side dish of fish sauce. It was pretty good and the Egg Rolls were nice and crunchy. The bed of veggies underneath the noodles were crisp and refreshing. Overall, the food was refreshing. I think I'll try their pho the next time I come. read more

The pho here is some of the best I've ever had. The aunties that work here are so friendly and the service is extremely fast! The lemonade is super yummy and they do the Vietnamese coffee to perfection! They recognize my boyfriend and I every time we come and memorize our order. The food was OK. The service was bad. We asked a waitress for some lemon and she never brought it. We figured that she probably forgot. We then asked this same waitress for some water and she ignored us. She walked by us several times (and the restaurant was not busy). I eventually had to go up to the counter to ask for the water myself. I am not sure if this is because of my skin color (I am Mexican) but I felt discriminated. When I got my check, they were billing me for a tea that my daughter ordered and never received. At check out, I told the woman at the register what happened and the first thing she did was laugh it off and asked for me to add the tip before scanning my card! I got a Vietnamese iced coffee and I went for my usual 44B, roast beef, shrimp paste and vermicelli noodles. My group split an order of egg rolls and veggies. When the egg rolls arrived I nabbed one, wrapped it in lettuce and munched away. The batter was crispy and crunchy. The filling was delicious and flavor some. My main was also really delicious. I always pack half of it away, as soon as it arrives because a whole portion is too much. My friends ordered the Pho and said it was really really good. Three full bellies and three happy faces when we left. This place is really relaxed, there wasn't any hustle or bustle around us which made it really enjoyable Tip: they have a customs parking lot in the back. Saigon Flavor is the sister restaurant of Golden Deli and I'm a huge fan of Golden Deli. The menu and quality are pretty much identical to Golden Deli but it seems that Saigon Flavor caters to a different, older, and more traditional crowd. As with Golden Deli, I love their rice-paper egg rolls because the rice paper makes the egg roll chewier and more flavorful. My order is always the Vermicelli with Beef, Shrimp Paste, and Egg Rolls. If you're a fan of durian, you should try their durian smoothie! The durian flavor is strong and tastes fresh. There are a few downsides to Saigon Flavor, such that the service can be unintentionally rude sometimes and the restaurant itself is a bit rundown. However, if you want to avoid long wait times at Golden Deli and just want great food, Saigon Flavor is the way to go. read more

It's as good as the first time. I loooooooove pho. I definitely love pho when I'm starving because before I even sit down, the lady throws the menu on the table and ask what do I want. Everything tasted good at the time, but way too much MSG- I had a huge headache and was super thirsty after this meal. They have good drinks here, I ordered avocado shake-creamy, not too sweet, well blended ice. Try pennyworth juice here, it has an unique but worth trying. I love all the Saigons they're truly the greatest Vietnamese restaurants ever! I've Been to Saigon eden, Saigon restaurant and now Saigon flavor! You really can't go wrong with any of these restaurants. They're very authentic when it comes to Vietnamese food. I Ordered the pho with rare beef, tendons and meat balls and the bun riue. I don't even know where to start but tbh this restaurant is living up to their name because their broths are soooo FLAVORful!!! I typically go to nha Trang for bun Riue, but after trying Saigon flavor, I think I have found my new go to bun riue place... sorry nha Trang! You've been good to me! Andddddd Saigon flavor gives you more crab meat too!!!! The atmosphere is super friendly and it wasn't as crowded got seated maybe within 2-5 mins after walking in? So it's wasn't too bad! This place is not bad. Average Vietnamese food but they have a wide variety on the menu compared to most Vietnamese restaurants, so that's good! I ordered banh hoi which is my favorite thing and not all places have it. It's like a taco but complicated and you just wrap meat, veggies, and noodles by hand. It's a do it yourself, they just provide the ingredients. Their beef meat was alright. It could've been better. The egg rolls were good. Their vegetables were clean and service was good. Also had their porkchop rice and it was good, but I've had better at a lower price at cafes. I would come back. Been here for many years since high school with the family and was never disappointed. Location/Parking: Located next to Hawaii Supermarket. There's a small parking lot in the back, but there are plenty of parking along Valley Blvd. Wait time: Depending on the time you go, it can take awhile to be seated. There is no seating area in the front of the restaurant so you'll have to stand or sit outside of the restaurant. Service: Service is pretty decent here. Once you bypass the bottleneck of getting seated, the service and food getting to the table is fairly fast. The staffers are friendly and attentive. Food: I think the food is delicioius. I've had a lot of items over the years, but the top 3 items that stand out are: 1) Cornish hen with red rice (Half): The chicken is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The cucumber slices and tomatoes balance this dish out. Love the red rice and the chicken skin on the cornish hen!!! :) Tip: Add lime juice on the chicken! 2) Bo Luc Lac with red rice: Beef cubes are very tender and full of flavor with every bite. The red rice and the onions are the cherry topper of this entree for me! Tip: Enhance your eating experience by requesting lime and squeezing on the cubes. 3) Bun Thit Nuong Gio (charboiled pork with vermicelli and egg rolls): Love everything in this bowl of vermicelli. Decided on Pho Pasteur but unfortunately it was closed on Wednesday. Headed over to Saigon flavor instead. The pho dac biet i ordered is very solid and the combo wraps with vermicelli ordered by my friend looks mouth watering and confirmed by him as delicious.
