I'm sorry but I'm going to have to give this place 2 stars due to my traumatic experience (I still get shivers when I think about it), but the rest of the food is fairly decent. The general consensus is about right. They have a variety of items, reasonably priced, and tastes pretty good. Also, this one is definitely better than their other location in La Mirada. But please, DO NOT order their Bo Luc Lac! Or if you do, be sure to tell them how you want it cooked. Unforunately, I ordered it to-go so it was too late for me. At first, everything seemed ok. I opened the container and there was the meat and side of rice, looked good. I picked up one piece of meat and started to eat it. I was chewing for quite some time, but just figured they don't use the highest quality meat so it is expected. But when I took my second bite, I started to notice a faint odor and taste, kind of game-y, and it felt like I was chewing rubber. So I spit it out, and saw a lump of bloody flesh! (side note: I grossed out my cowokers because I looked like a monster with blood all over my teeth, heehee). I frantically started cutting the other cubes of meat to see what it looked like and was horrified to see that they were all raw~ (ugh). Apparently the cook only seared the outside of the meat and left the inside completely uncooked. I asked my coworker (he's vietnamese), "Is BLL supposed to be like this?" He said "No." I've never had it this way either, but I thought hey maybe it's a regional thing and it's cooked differently? So I called the restaurant and informed them of my discovery. She just said "Oh, we're sorry" and that was about it. Needless to say I'm never going to order that ever again. The other dishes are fine (aka safe). I've eaten their pho and lemongrass chicken. But there is another place down the street called Pho Hoang which is MUCH better. It is more authentic and the portions are slightly larger. read more

I use to come here all the time when my friend lived down the street. This place has totally undergone a makeover because the interior looks a LOT better than what I remembered it to be. It pains me to give this place two stars because if it weren't for them, I would've never been introduced to my #1 pho place in Diamond Bar. They have wooden floors and booths on the sides, but the booths are as hard as a rock. When I practically plopped my as$ cheeks down, I hit it with a loud thump! I bruise like a peach so I'm sure I have a purple butt cheek now. They have the same exact menu as Diamond Bar's except it's not as fancy. It's just basically laminated sheets of paper binded together with plastic binding. I went with the pho dac biet which is basically everything including rare steak, brisket, tendon, and tripe. I guess I'm just used to the larger portions they give at the Diamond Bar location because the pho portion here was looking pretty scant. It did fill me up though, but I usually have left overs at the other location. The egg rolls tasted just the same. Nice and crunchy with not so much oil. They don't offer as many selections of soda and the service could definitely improve. The one guy was so busy reading his newspaper that we needed to call him about 4 times before he heard us. I have been going to this place for a few years now and is definition of "hole in the wall" joint but that's ok. Strip mall is still under construction as of this writing. Generally food is quite good and healthy with my favorites being the chicken noodle soup and and the combo shrimp, chicken, and beef with egg noodles. The bathrooms used to be quite unhygienic and dirty which was a real turn off (the barometer of a good restaurant) but it seems like they were much cleaner on my last visit. The main reason I only gave Saigon three stars is the consistent lack of good customer service. Don't know if it's because the guy (I think he might be manager) has limited English skills but he never checks back, refills drinks and you ALWAYS have to ask for stuff. A bit baffled why reviews on here say customer service is good because non-existent in my experience. When I left him a tip at the cash register he didn't even have the courtesy to say thank you! If you're willing to overlook this fact, you get good food and value at this place but customer service is important to me and I don't go back too often. read more

Came here with my friend and his sister for dinner after having spotted this place not too far from his house. This location is of decent size, clean, and spacious. It was pretty much empty when we came in so we were quickly seated in one of the booths. The menu is fairly simple to navigate, tons of appetizers to choose from, vegetarian options, different types of pho, rice dishes, and noodles as well. I chose the Mi Ga Quay (egg noodles with roasted chicken) with a Caphe Sua Da Trang Chau (iced milk coffee with boba), my friend had a Com Suong Nuong Bi Cha Trung Chung Ga Opla (grilled pork chop, shredded pork, steamed egg, and egg sunny side up) with a nuoc dua tuoi (fresh coconut juice), and his sister had the Pho Dac Biet (special). Drinks came out first and my coffee was decent, wasn't too strong/bitter, but the boba tasted like it was made in the morning and had just been sitting there all day. No complaints on the coconut juice. My noodles came out and while I was looking through it, noticed there weren't any chicken so I got worried this messed it up. The server dropped off my noodles and the pho first and left. When he came back with my friend's rice dish, he handed me a plate of roasted chicken (which looked fried). The noodles were cooked perfectly, the soup broth was nice and hot, flavorful as well. The grilled chicken was moist and tasted so good with the egg noodles. My mouth is watering while I'm typing this review.... My friend enjoyed his rice dish, didn't complain about it. When he went to try this sister's pho, he said it was okay, could've been better. We have been here many years ago and now I remember why we never went back until now..It is the worst Pho restaurant I have ever been to ..tasteless broth, small portion of meat..the spring rolls are unappetizing..not very fresh and had very thin slices of a shrimp(singular). Straight away I'm going to tell you get the egg rolls. So far from 6 visits over 4 months. They have been fresh and tasty. They have meat inside. Not veggie only which I like. It's a small mom-and-pop place with about 15 tables. From past reviews and my own observations I can see why others would feel that the staff is a little rude. I personally wouldn't say they are rude but they are definitely just a little slow, taking their time. Enough so it to warrant losing a star... I have had 3 different Pho, brisket, mixed beef and chicken. The broth has been consistent, as well as the portion. No shortage of meat or noodle. I tried one of their fried rice plates. Was not a fan. Wasn't terrible but not where I would come for fried rice. They have an extensive menu of other items. But I come here just for Ph -So here we are 1 year later.- Suffice it to say nothing has changed, much. Service is still very lax. Have to raise my hand in the air to get attention. Even though there are only 3 other people in the place. Again I see how it can seem like they are just being rude. So -1 Star. The pho is still the same. In flavor but there has been a time or 2 during the last year where I did find the meat portion a little lacking. Egg rolls are still great. Crispy, hot, and tasty. Still a favorite for me. I used to come to this place because it made a good Bun Thit Nuong. I prefer beef over pork because I find the meat well grilled and less fatty. Then I had a few bites of Hu Tieu today and my god! It was great! Far superior to the pho, which I had to doctor up with squeezes from three limes, oyster sauce and siracha. This is the closest pho place to my house with decent reviews. But my first visit here will also be my last. This is OC and there are pho houses everywhere especially in nearby little saigon. This particular establishment was cheap looking and dark, which gave it a hole in the wall appeal. They didnt serve water but charged for bottled water. Upon looking at the menu, regular pho bowls started at $12, which is rather high compared to the more popular places, but ok, so far, all signs of what should be a good pho meal. We ordered some pho and egg rolls. Egg rolls were typical, no complaints. But the pho... it was not worth $12. Not even close. The soup was basically water or chicken/veggie broth. Barely edible. This place charged $6 for their pho like a year ago. They are crazy to think their pho is that good to double the price. To make the whole experience better, the only waiter there leaves the door open and smokes outside so the wind made the whole restaurant smell like cigarettes while you're eating. I was no impressed AT ALL with this place. Now I don't know if it was the time my family (of 4) and I came in or what, but the service was poor and the food was mediocre. After being pointed to a table (mind you it was empty all except for 1 other party of2), he never once made eye contact just kinda a head nod. So ok fine, I let it go. After our order was taken and brought to us, not once did anyone come over to check on us, offer us more water or even see if we wanted anything else. Just a very annoyed server. I love pho. I live 5mins walk from this place and if I prefer to drive 20mins to Westminster for pho, something is wrong about this place. I don't want to give a one star because the 2 times I been here they never did me wrong, but everything else is just below average. The size of a large bowl is same as the big at home bowl that most people use. It is nothing like the typical Pho bowl. The price is above average. I think it comes out about $10 each. Another day, another bowl of Pho! I ate here once about three years ago and remember not being too impressed. I thought I'd give it another try and my memories served me correct for a change. I ordered the Special. $9 for a reg bowl of Pho, egg rolls and a drink. Broth is what really differentiates Pho restaurants. I found the broth here a little on the watery side. I haven't had to use Hoisin sauce in awhile to get a little flavor going, but had to in this case. I had no quarrels with the beef and noodles. There was a lot of it and it was good. Not a fan of the egg rolls. They were somewhat hard and the sauce was on the bland side. Service was lightening fast. Faster than most Pho places if that is possible. Atmosphere is decent. This seems to be the highest rated pho joint in my new neighborhood of Placentia. After trying couple places around town, I can't really disagree but it's pretty sad that this is as good as it gets here. This is a Vietnamese owned pho joint that serves up almost a Korean style pho. A very clean tasting pho that's almost too bland. Dude, where's my MSG? Overall, I would say their pho is just average. Their prices are slightly on the higher side and like many pho joints are doing nowadays, they only have small or large size, so you might end up with either too little or too much pho. I have to say, I'm not a fan of all these pho joints getting rid of regular size to make more money. Not cool. Taste is not bad but would not go there again even if it is my neighborhood place. One rule of thumb, charge what you want to charge but give enough food so that your customers do not feel ripped off. I have been to a million Pho restaurants. They charge above average price but why only put in half the ingredient? My wife got a Seafood Pho. It had 1 thing of imitation crab, 2 small pieces of shrimp, 2 pieces of fish cake. Alrightly I like this place. Good atmosphere for a pho place. Service is good. The pho is not too shabby. Now I love pho, I could eat it everyday and this place is near my house. Decent broth, decent size bowl, fair price. I also like the Mi Ga Quay, which is like pho but instead of rice noodles, you get egg noodles. It comes with a huge piece of roasted chicken that is so crisp and tasty you would swear it was deep fried. Little bit of french fried onions on top! GREAT MEAL. Try it, you will like it. The spring rolls are good, and the peanut dipping sauce that comes with them is very good. Tastes richer then most other local places. I have also had the Bun, a salad with noodles. Excellent choice when it is too warm for pho (for me it is too warm for pho when it is about 120 degrees in the shade). Crisp vegetables, cool noodles, grilled meat and an excellent fried spring roll on top. The sauce is nuoc mam cham (fish sauce) and it is excellent and not fishy at all. For a beverage I get an ice tea and a fresh squeezed lemonade and make my own Arnold Palmers. NICE! I like the owners of this place, they are very attentive. Was in the mood for noodles and saw the decent rating on Yelp. I swear most of the good reviews must be paid bots or complete shills. Ordered Pho and some friend rice. The Pho was so bland it was basically Pho noodles in water. There was no taste whatsoever. The fried rice had very little flavor as well, but the worst part was the guy at the front. He clearly did not care about the restaurant as he spent the entire time just talking to the cook while leaving us for dozens of minutes on end and we were the only party there. When the food did get there he just slapped it down and seemed annoyed when we asked him for soy sauce. We were sick of eating at our usual places around this area, so we decided to try something new. We scored with Saigon Noodle House! The menu was diverse, with different types of pho combinations. For example, let's say you wanted the pho with beef, brisket and flank, tendons and tripe, but you wanted to hold the tendons and tripe. Well, the next item on the menu is exactly that! Don't feel like pho? You can have the banh mi (vietnamese sandwich), pork, beef or chicken platter (with same type of ingredient choice combos as above), fried rice dishes, vermicelli noodle dishes, and more! Had the spring rolls as an appetizer, and the fried ice cream for dessert with ice coffee! To die for!! Best Pho in CSUF area!!! This is my favorite restaurant in the Fullerton area because it is affordable and it hits the spot every time. I go here with friend about once every few weeks. The place it seems is owned by a family and the same staff is always there everytime I go. The place is not real fancy so you can feel free to go dressed casually and they do have one tv with basic channels if you are looking to catch a game while dining. The PHO is great here as well as affordable. I usually order the Pho Thai Combo which comes with two egg rolls and a soda for about 10 bucks! read more

Worst pho I have ever ever had. Complete disappointment and disgrace. Terrible service, Terrible food. Portions are ridiculously small and tasteless, the salted plum drink is a wreck. Pork was burnt and the noodles were way overcooked. My party had to sit on separate tables to show the servers that we were done with our food after waiting 20 minutes. Do NOT waste your time here. For one, it's cheaper than most Pho places - check out my quick tip for this place. Anyway, what I love about this place is that the food is brought out super quick. They're on point about ordering your food and bringing it out. Every time I've gone, it's always been slow and not a whole of customers, but it's like a low-key pho spot. I actually haven't tried anything else on their menu besides their seafood pho, which is really tasty. They give out a variety of squid, shrimp and fish patties in your pho. Food review: I previously lived in South Vietnam and visited various provinces within the southern and south west regions as well as a bit of Saigon now called Ho Chi Minh City. I also had pho there too. Anyway, I ordered their Pho Dac Biet (aka Pho Special or Combination) regular size which includes essentially all the things you would find in other pho variations assuming it is beef broth. The broth tasted a bit watered down but didn't have that monosodium glutamate aka MSG taste to it where your looking for the closest pitcher of water to gulp down after eating only a few bites. I presume this might be due to the covid-19 impacting the business similarly to how it is affecting many other small food businesses or merely there was a insufficient broth to serve so they added some water? (I did come at a late hour to eat though!) Aside from the beef broth and comparing everything else with what you would normally get in a bowl of pho from my experience in South Vietnam, the portion of meat and noodles were quite generous as well as the vegetables (bean sprouts, Thai basil, green peppers, lime, etc). If your coming from Vietnam or used to eating portions from abroad where portions are smaller than what is served normally in USA, their regular bowl will be suffice for two people to eat leaving both feeling full. Overall, I enjoyed their pho in its entirety and give it a 5 out of 5. Price: The price I thought was very reasonable given there doesn't appear to be many Pho establishments in Placentia and driving down to somewhere near Anaheim, Garden Grove, or Westminster would equate to the cost differences if not more cause of gas and time expended. Also, their prices are similar by about +/-($0.50-$1) to other Pho establishments I've eaten in La Habra, Garden Grove, and Westminster. Menu: I didn't try the other menu items during my initial visit and they offer many Vietnamese dishes such as Banh Mi (aka Vietnamese sandwiches), Com (aka Broken rice with various options), Bun (aka Vermicelli which is rice noodles cooked then served without soup mixed with other meat and/or vegetables), Hu Tieu (another version of noodle soup aside from the commonly known Pho), and Goi Cuon (aka Spring rolls). There are some pictures from 2017 of their menu on yelp by another reviewer which hasn't changed (much?) from my quick glance and memory during my visit. From what I recall, the prices looked about the same and that is generous on the business part given covid-19 has impacted many small food businesses unfavorably. Parking: Plenty surrounding the business. Initial impression of establishment: This place appears to be family owned and a favorite to locals who enjoy Vietnamese food. It has a family warm feel when you walk in and eat here. There were some people eating as well as to go orders being picked up during my visit around 7pm following earlier temperatures of 90 degrees Farenheit this day. I presume there is more business on cooler days. Verdict: I recommend this place if your looking for Pho while in Placentia and do not want to drive down to Anaheim, Garden Grove, or La Habra for the same dish. There are suprisingly a lot of pho places around this area but this is by far the best pho place that I've tried when compared with Pho Lemongrass on Yorba Linda Blvd/Placentia and the newly opened Pho Yummee on Placentia/Chapman. The pho has a good authentic flavor and the portions are large. The waiters sort of ignore you but then again after getting your food the its not that big of a deal unless you need a refill of water. read more
