I know this place has a lot of high reviews, but our experience left us wanting more. We usually go to Pier 50 for AYCE sushi, but we wanted to try Sake since it's close to our house. The menu was much smaller, so that was disappointing, but we found things we wanted. However, as my family were getting their items, I wanted a long time and had to remind the serve multiple times. I didn't end up getting any of my sushi rolls until the rest of my family was almost done with their meal. The sushi rolls were fine but nothing special. The spicy tuna wasn't very spicy. I also ordered the spicy tuna "taco". I was surprised it came in a crunchy tortilla shell rather than a crunchy nori "shell", which is what I am used to. The crunchy shell didn't have much flavor, so between that and the not spicy tuna, it was pretty bland. The sushi here is really fresh I love all the dishes we got ! The nigiri is good, but I feel like the sashimi was better the fish was so fresh and fatty it was so good ! Food was alright, but the dinning experience was awful. The servers were very nice initially, but the system they have for ordering is just atrocious. Long wait times, missing orders, and the servers seeming to get more annoyed with us when we try to order more food. It was almost impossible to flag our server down for anything after our second round of ordering. It felt like they didn't want to give us more food... The portion sizes were also very small. We would finish our food within 10 minutes, wait 10 minutes for the server to come back, then wait 15 minutes for our food to be served. I think we would've had a much better experience if the soup and salad was a self serve bar. The fish was also not the freshest. My little brother actually gagged after eating a piece of the yellow tail because it was so fishy. We politely informed the staff so they would not charge us for the uneaten fish and were met with a dismissive manager. They stated that the fish was fine and my brother's tastebuds were off???????? We're not trying to argue, we just wanted to let them know that there was something wrong with the fish and that's why we didn't eat it. Located near the KP market this place has plenty of parking, is well decorated, and has nice and attentive service. I liked the decor on the walls. I didn't realize it was an all you can eat sushi restaurant. Dinners seem to be about $36 per person. Menu has an array of appetizers, Nigiri, sashimi, and rolls. I really enjoy their salmon dishes. We ordered a lot of seared salmon, Ikura, and salmon sashimi. I would come back for these alone. I also tried their fried oysters, calamari, takoyaki, and softshell crab. seafood was fresh and or well fried. Dessert is a choice of green tea, ice cream or strawberry ice cream. Though the menu is not as extensive as the all you can eat sushi place in Folsom, it is about $10 cheaper than the tier that I get at Pier $50, and the cuts are better. The food itself is good, the tuna sashimi melts in your mouth, and all of their poke were super flavorful. I also enjoyed the galbi and the shrimp tempuras. The miso soup was a on the watery side. AYCE sushi in Rancho Cordova!! I have been waiting to try to this place and it didn't disappoint. Price is $35.99 which is definitely worth it for what you can get. I got a variety of Nigiri which was so good and tasted very fresh, my favorite was the torched salmon. I also got the ultimate Salmon roll and the Rainbow roll (rainbow was my favorite). For appetizers/small bites I got the spicy edamame and the sweet potato hand roll. Everything was great I will definitely be coming back! Service was so quick to bring everything out. I'm not a calamari fan, but it's offered as an appetizer if you are someone who is a fan! I was seated very quickly, and my water refill was quick and without question. Most sushi places do California roll with avocado, and some with cucumber instead of avocado. I prefer the more commonly used pairing with avocado. This place makes their California roll with cucumber. It's not specified on their menu, so fyi before you order a California roll. No spider roll/no soft shell crab at this all you can eat place. Most of their speciality rolls are drowning in special sauce. FYI before you order. Most of the sauces are a nice complement, but if sauce isn't your thing, let your wait person know, when you order. I love the inside! It's clean, spacious, well designed with decor setting the mood without being overdone. A giant wall painting of Mt Fuji with cherry blossoms takes up almost an entire wall. I got to eat 6 sushi rolls and two pieces of nigiri, for only $25 plus tax! A real deal. Wait staff clear away dirty dishes quickly with no fuss. I was out at the shopping center with my family and decided to take a break and grab a bite to eat. We came across Sake, which from the outside looked brand new, and I'm so glad we stopped in. The customer service was top tier, we were greeted and seated right away as soon as we walked in. It also wasn't as busy as we expected. The food came out fresh and within a reasonable amount of time considering how many items we ordered. For an AYCE sushi spot, they have a great variety to choose from, which is especially nice if you have picky kids like mine . The only slight downside was that it was pretty warm inside the restaurant. It was a cold day outside, but the temperature indoors was a bit warmer than needed. First time to their ayce sushi lunch. The restaurant itself is very open and clean. The service was ok. The waiter was attentive but didn't seem too happy. My friend and I had a couple of rolls and nigiri .. I do love that they give you an option to order the full roll or half a roll. I ordered half an ultimate salmon roll and my friend ordered half the Sakura roll .. both rolls were good. We also had a couple of nigiri.. white tuna, seared tuna, avocado, salmon. They all were mediocre. They can minimize the amount of rice a bit .. my most favorite thing there was the cream cheese wonton and fried chicken wings LOL. The cream cheese were the chewier texture wonton wrappers and was filled filled with cream cheese .. it was great! And the chicken wings were fried to order so they were crispy goodness. Arrived about 8:15 pm and were told that we could order till 9 pm. This seems okay but we were not aware that you had to do all you can eat at $39.99 per person. Any way after looking at the menu it was difficult to order due to a shellfish allergy. We asked for recommendations for something without shellfish. Everything our waitress recommended had shellfish and each time we pointed out the problem. We asked if it could be prepared without shellfish and she said no. Tired and hungry at a late hour we decided on a few things that should be okay. The sushi was okay but not delicious. The waitress was abrupt and unhelpful. We left $86 less, not starving but definitely not satisfied. Ambiance was okay but nothing to write home about. If you want to eat a lot of so so sushi then you should try it. 3.9/5 Came here with my little cousins since it's by their home and it was in their budget for AYCE sushi. $35.99 for dinner and $25.99 for lunch, which was a good price for AYCE sushi. Location - The restaurant is located near a Panda express in the Target plaza by KP supermarket, so it's very convenient to grab lunch or dinner after shopping. As for parking, there are enough parking in the lot, but it can get filled up during dinner on the weekend so you might have to park a little further and walk a few more steps. Ambiance - When I walked into the restaurant, there is a big waiting area but there was no hostess or anyone to greet you. I had to wait a little bit before someone came and asked me how many in my party. (I was the only one waiting in the area by the way). The first glance of the restaurant, it's just set up as any regular AYCE sushi restaurant. There wasn't much that stands out or special. There were a two - three tables next to the sushi bar, which I find odd and out of place but I guess it works for small party of two when the restaurant is packed. However, I just think it's inconvenient with space. Food - The most important part....the food. The menu offers sushi rolls, sashimi, fried food, and others. Overall, it comes with options for everyone. Definitely, for me I was looking at the sashimi and carpaccio. I had other items on the menu, and a few highlights and misses listed below. Sashimi - The fish was fresh and it comes in a thick slice, which is very satisfying. I was a very happy girl with my filled of sashimi. Recommend!! Carpaccio - I tried all four carpaccio that was offered, which was good, but I only reordered the salmon and seared pepper tuna. I think the first round was definitely great, but after the third round. I feel the seared pepper tuna was overcooked and the sided that was seared was overly peppery. As for the salmon carpaccio, the orange/tangerines slices can be overpowering when it's sour, but I was okay with it because I like the flavor. Recommend, but it's not consistent. Rolls - As for the rolls, I didn't really try much of it but my little cousins did enjoy it, and they look the right portion of rice and filling. Fried calamari - I would recommend the fried calamari, which was really good and fried to perfection. It had the right amount of seasoning and crunchy enough. I rarely eat and like calamaris at AYCE places, but this was really good. Highly recommended. Miso soup - It was okay but wasn't great. Had better at other places. The flavor was lacking and there wasn't any tofu in my soup or seaweed, just miso. Cucumber salad - PASS...do not get. This was definitely not sunomono. To my surprise, it was thinly slice cucumbers mixed with mayo. If you prefer that, then it's for you. However, I was expecting sunomono which wasn't. I gave it a try because I didn't want to waste it, but it was lacking flavor. It was just cucumbers mixed with mayo. I would not recommend this. Service - I would say the service was my least favorite part of the whole experiences. Even though, it still seem like their soft opening but it was pretty mediocre. The restaurant really needs to work on it, despite having to wait to be seated. There were about 3-4 servers and two sushi chefs from my observation. The restaurant had about 5 - 6 tables currently eating, so it wasn't packed and people were eating, so it was a good sign food was coming out. However, when it came to our table we ordered our first round of food, and it came pretty quick. However, we were still not serve our water yet when we initially order with our food order. We had to tell our server and he still didn't bring it, so we had to ask another server for our water. Then when we order our second round of sashimi, our order was mess up. By the third round, our order had missing items that came and we had to ask for our server to check on it. Overall, I think the male server we had was just not there. He seem absent minded. It could be he didn't fulling understand english or he was just not really listening. By the third round, we had to point to the items on the menu to make sure he got the right item. Let's not even talk about our water being refilled......Overall, the services needs to improve. In conclusion.....I would still recommend you to give a try if you are in the Rancho area. It's a pretty decent AYCE sushi establishment. The sashimi is definitely the rockstar here for the price. However, I hope their services improve and maybe I just got a bad night with the server I got. Give it a try. read more

Tried out this new all you can eat sushi and it did not disappoint. We went at lunch time and there wasn't too many people. Super cute place. Price was decent also. Ordered some appetizers and stir fried udon to start. It was delicious. Their cream cheese wonton was very very good. Had a good amount of fillings. We only ordered nigiri's because that's what my husband and I love. All their nigiri's did not disappoint. Their rice to meat ratio was perfect. Their fish was fresh and melt in your mouth. TL;DR: this is the only buffet that I left hungry from. Food is a 3.5 out of 5, service is pleasant, but there's some push back. I'm going to give it a year before i come back. Tips: if you eat here do not come when it's busy and order a lot, but not too much or else you'll get charged for what you don't eat. Review yelp for serving sizes for each dish. Food: The food was good to mid. We ordered several dishes from Sashimi, rolls and hot food. The Sashimi and hamachi kama was probably the best items on the menu. Hibachi beef was over cooked, even though we asked for medium rare. We ordered several items over 4 rounds and there must have been an issue with the hot food because we didn't get some items from round 1 until after round 4. It's kind of hard to figure out if your over ordering when food doesn't come out in a timely manner. Plus there was a mix up and we were served food that we didn't order. Service: Service is attentive, but chaotic. When asked what rolls we were getting the food runner didn't know. When asking if we can put in an order for hot food we got pushback saying that they couldn't accommodate our order cause it would take too long. I think they might be under staffed because I had to flag down our server several times. Note: my mom was content with her table's ordering, but she was also served the wrong food at times and didn't like some items. Pros: No limit to food( short ribs, sashimi, hamachi kama etc) Cons: Service is chaotic and do not go if the restaurant is full. If you do then order a lot of food in your initial order. Summary: Although the food was acceptable I think I'm going to skip this place until they figure out a better system to provide food to the customer. First I wanna say, I came here for dinner about a month ago and everything was excellent! Food was amazing and our server was so attentive and consistently checking up on us. I wish I remembered his name but he was awesome. I came in for lunch and food was great today but service was okay. After placing our first round, our server never came back to check in and ask if we would like to order more. We noticed that they checked in with all the other tables, asking if they would like to place more, but were very standoffish with our table. We had to wave down the servers every time we wanted to order or ask to place an order whenever they stopped by to collect empty dishes. We were polite and patient the whole time but it kind of felt like they were annoyed that we ordered all we can eat when it's...an AYCE restaurant. Same great food, but the service and presentation of food hit a new level--which makes sense because they weren't slammed like the weekends. Tried it this new AYCE sushi place on a Sunday late afternoon/early evening. Service was on point! All the servers tag teamed the tables, helping each other out. Super friendly and we never felt ignored. Tried a number of the rolls and they were all very yummy. Their sushi rolls are freshly made and delicious. They serve full size servings and the presentation is great. I believe it was the owner and the chef who came to our table and introduced us to these spicy tuna tacos which are currently not on their menu.
