Sakura Grill seems to be a local favorite to get their sushi, maki, and take advantage of their lunch specials. Their menu is pretty extensive, offering various apps, salads, soup, sushi/sashimi/maki rolls, tempura, katsu, noodles, hibachi, and bento boxes. We came here for an early dinner, and we ordered: +a Filet Mignon Hibachi Dinner +a Shrimp Hibachi Dinner These were served with a choice of soup or salad, and the dish comes with a side of the grilled veggies and fried rice. The star of the show was their yum yum sauce, as it was thick, creamy, and so good with the meal; the meal itself is okay - the proteins were cooked well, albeit the shrimp was slightly overcooked and was a bit rubbery. I didn't care much for the fried rice, as it was super bland, and even adding some of the yum yum sauce didn't help. Veggies could have been less 'wet', as it was pretty liquid-y. I'd probably try out their lunch version of the hibachi, as the price point here is a bit steep, considering the quality and the amount of food that is given. Staff were friendly, and the place itself is small, with a handful of tables and some counter seating. Located in the Rolling Valley shopping center, there's ample parking in the plaza lot. +great yum yum sauce! +friendly staff +located in the Rolling Valley shopping center +ample parking in the large plaza lot

We were a group of 8 looking for a dinner spot on a Saturday night. We were craving hibachi and came across Sakura Grill so we decided to try it out. It's small but fairly quiet when we arrived so we were seated right away. I ordered the chicken hibachi with salad. Our salads came out quickly and were great. It was a simple salad of lettuce tomatoes and carrots with a delicious dressing. The chicken hibachi was a good large portion, and it came with yum yum sauce and we also requested sriracha and spicy mayo on the side as well. The chicken itself was a little chewy and very sweet tasting from the teriyaki, but the veggies and fried rice were good. The service was great and our waiter was checking on us periodically and very accommodating. One thing to note is this isn't a traditional hibachi restaurant where they cook in front of you. Everything is done in the kitchen and brought to you, so it's more of a normal restaurant feel. Overall it was a good fix for our hibachi craving.

The bad thing about Genki Izakaya is how crowded it can be. I'm not sure I would show up without reservations again. I've been there 3 times, the first time we didn't have a reservation and the hostess seemed very hesitant to add us to the wait list. She said the waitlist was very long. We decided not to wait. The second time we also didn't have a reservation and the hostess again seemed very hesitant to add us to the wait list. This time we did wait and were quoted 1.5 hours and it actually took about an hour. Not as bad as quoted but still busy! Third time we finally had a reservation and it still took us 20 mins to get seated as they did not have a table ready for us. To be honest the restaurant itself seems too small, they probably could be twice as big. The reason is the food at Genki Izakaya is in my opinion the best of the 3 Izakayas in the area. The Yakitori is good, hot and reasonably priced although I wish they would let you customize the $20 Yakitori Platter. I tried the A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Hot Stone and was surprised that they cook it for you instead of you cooking it yourself on the hot stone. The waiter overcooked 2 pieces of the Wagyu which is annoying when it is so expensive but overall it tasted great. I like their Tonkotsu Ramen, it broth tastes great and I've had ramen all over this area, in New York City, LA area, Tokyo and Kyoto. It isn't the best I've ever tasted but it is really good especially for this area. Once seated the service is good and the food comes out quickly and everything we've had has tasted great. The only problem is how crowded it can be because its so popular! Only bad thing for us is it isn't too close about a 45 min drive but worthwhile - definitely try it if you like Izakayas and Japanese food.

It's the kind of place built for convenience -- quick in-and-out, well packed, and still hot by the time you get home. Ideal for weeknight dinners when cooking isn't happening and you want something dependable without a long wait. Menu Size: The menu is extensive -- classic, old-school Chinese takeout style with plenty of combination plates, lunch specials, and chef's specialties. Lots of variety across chicken, beef, pork, seafood, and vegetable dishes, plus the usual appetizers and sides. Good option for groups or families with mixed preferences because everyone can find something familiar. Chicken: The chicken dishes are the highlight. Portions are solid, and the chicken is tender with good breading-to-meat balance in the fried options. Sauced dishes are well coated without being overly heavy, and the flavors come through clearly rather than tasting generic. Whether you go sweet, savory, or spicy, the chicken plates are consistently satisfying and feel like the safest bet on the menu.

But wait. My go-to spot suddenly closed, leaving me in a bit of a lurch! Where do I go?! We all have our favorite Chinese restaurant, and when we can't go to that one there's a little bit of a conundrum. I take American Chinese food seriously - which really means I order the same thing 98% of the time because that's my GO TO meal. As an intellectual, that is of course General Tso's chicken. Beijing Tokyo blends north and south Asia into a rather cozy, strip mall location. One person was talking obliviously on her cell phone, while the sushi Chef took orders. Until Yelp asked me if this place was romantic, I hadn't actually thought about it that way. But it is a little romantic. The tables are close together, the light is low, even if this place was full it would be... Cozy. A Chinese restaurant that's cozy is a very short leap to romantic. You can have a conversation here. I ordered my usual and waited about 10 minutes. The GTC was excellent. It had spice and flavor, but not too spicy. The fried rice was delicious. Good portion size and a good price. Two egg rolls and the total came to $25.25. No surprises, nothing out of the ordinary. If you had told me this had come from my favorite- now sadly closed - Chinese restaurant, I would have never known the difference. And there in lies what I think makes a good Chinese restaurant: predictability. American Chinese food is a distinct cuisine with the same menus, the same waving Buddah and melamine plates. The difference is quality, and the taste of your favorite meal. I am sad that my favorite place closed, but Beijing Tokyo is my new Chinese food restaurant, and I think it's pretty darn good.

The spring rolls were very light and had a delicious flavor, the cabbage was the perfect blend of spicy and sour and makes for a great palette cleanser.
