We went back for a second time! It's one of two places we ate all weekend. I had to bump this up to 5 stars!

I went here during 5:00 rush hour and there was only a few people in the store and a couple in the drive through so I'm not sure if it gets busy and long wait or not. I've only had the original gyro so far and I'm not sure if I'll get anything different because I'm not a fast food person. This is the only reason I'm not giving it 4 stars because I can't rate anything else. This gyro was insane. First of all it was yummy. Second, there was so much meat that I had to eat 1/2 before I could even get a bite of the pita. They used actual tzatziki and just the right amount, some places I've been to try to get away with sour cream. Also the pita bread is nice and fluffy. The staff was smiling which is nice in this area. It's obviously not going to be as great as an authentic vendor but for fast food it's super. read more

Salem's is open late and has a pretty big menu! I got a spicy gyro and, though good, I wasn't really feeling the spicy part. They added Sriracha to the tziaziki and then some peppers. I would probably skip the Sriracha next time; it was just too saucy. I got a side of yellow rice and black beans which was so huge, it was my dinner the next evening. I'll definitely be back to try more stuff! Oh - their regular sized fountain drink is pretty small by usual standards! So I would get a large next time. read more

Food is cooked to order. The fried chicken sandwich is probably one of the best sandwiches I've had in the St. Pete area.

I tried this place out last night since I was craving a gyro. Ended up getting a couple sandwiches. Called in my order for carry out. Fast and simple. My food was ready once I got there about 10 mintues later. They have a large menu and the prices seem reasonable. It was pretty busy when I got there but the staff seemed organized and kept the orders rolling. I noticed they have chicken gizzards. Ive never tried them but will try them out the next time. Crawfish was wonderful, got 2 lbs for a great price and enjoyed every bite. Crab legs were also delicious, good garlic butter seasoning. Hush puppies were great. Garlic tots were ehh, kind of just plain. read more

I had a fantastic experience here!! My family and I eat at Salem's all of the time, we have been to several locations over the years but really love the atmosphere here. The food is always good no matter what we select and everyone is so pleasant. The employees seem to actually be happy working there (which is hard to find in food service). I live closer to the other location in St Pete but I always come here! Its always clean and the girls always give my baby a cookie. I highly recommend the boneless wings and the gyros of course. The store manager has come to my table to make sure we were good (again something not normal for food service, sadly). She is doing something right there and I will always be a Salem's customer for life. read more

Great food all around. I have not had anything bad here. The gyro meat is tender. Phillies are great, and the best fries around. The calimari is actually pretty good for a fast food joint. The atmoshphere is lacking, but it is fast food. Great fast food. read more

For the price, you can't beat it. Their wings can be hit or miss at times, but never bad. They make a nice Greek salad, and it usually comes with one or two grape leaves... Yum!! I used to eat here a lot even though it's a lil shady waiting in the drive thru while ordering food. I ordered the gyros as standard and this time everything was soggy plus the wrong meat was used. Once I got home I called back to speak to manager and he was unapologetic and wanted me to drive back to show him the food. Don't expect customer service here. read more

I asked for basa grilled rice and beans and when I got home (8 miles away) I had tilapia fried with fries . When I came back the next day but at night the manager with Abduo had the worst attitude and pointed his finger in my face ! Coming from a man that's intimidating and shouldn't be in a manager position. It made me feel so upset that I even spent my money at this place . I'm writing all this to say 1 . I am furious with my favorite fast-food restaurant right now. I arrived at 1:59 PM today and gave my order promptly into the speaker. Then waited 23 minutes to get to the window. At about 20 minutes, I walked into the restaurant and asked what was taking so long and they said they were cooking the chicken for the people in front of me. I went out. I arrive at the window. They take my money and i wait another five minutes. Finally I ask what's going on. They start asking me who took my order, they didn't have an order from me (well they did they took my money and it was correct). I ask for a manager. The manager starts yelling at me and so I ask for my money back. He then says what do you want me to do. I say when an order gets lost in this industry you go to the window and have it made on the fly. You don't insult the customer, yell at the customer, and then still do nothing for them. I will probably never go back to this location. I'm very frustrated. I speak very highly of this chain and this was unacceptable. This is not how you treat customers. I am thoroughly insulted too. read more

Love the wings!!!! Fried oysters are great!!!! Shrimp is tasty! Steak and Cheese is good.. Let me say that I have never ordered something from here that I disliked. There wing sauce is my twisted addiction I could eat it plain lol! Its great for late night or if you wanna feed a large group but do not feel like cooking. It has drive thru and you will wait but that is because your food is made to order I would rather wait then go to McDonald's and complain about my "fast" meal. I've lived in St Pete for 15+ years and I've never revived a wrong order or bad service. You can't beat their hours either! Open until 4?!?! It's the best late night food and they aren't rude like McDonald's. Worth the wait and price. I will always be a customer :) read more

I LOVE this place. I have been going to this location for years. I started by trying Salem's at their older location down on 34th S. and once they opened one closer I tried that one and haven't stopped going. The shrimp po boy sandwich is absolutely amazing. Now I do not see it on the menu at the south location, so I'm not sure if they carry it off menu or not, but since I go to the north location it doesn't matter. Everything I have had at Salem's is fantastic. From the boneless wings to the burger to the fried shrimp, it all tastes amazing. The boneless wings and fries are also different here than on the south location, but it's for the better. Aside from the amazing food, the staff here is wonderful. Being a restaurant, you're gonna have some turnover. That hasn't stopped the quality and kindness of the staff. They are extremely friendly and provide excellent costumer service. I mostly go late nights, and there has been some changes in employees, but alot of them stay for a while. For some time Omar was there. He was a great guy and great worker, I hope he is doing well with his new job. Now the mainstay is Jose, and just like Omar he is an all around great employee. Friendly to everyone, works hard, and has great customer service. I don't know if it's the training program or just good people work here, but something works and it has been for the 5 plus years I've been eating here. Food isn't going to be as quick as McDonald's or Burger King, but the quality is so much better. You have to stop here rather than some fast food place late night (or any time of the day for that matter) if you are nearby. Great food and great people make Salem's a great place to eat at. Sit down restaurant quality with fast food convenience. The Salem's Gyros at this location is always clean and service is prompt in light of the business of this restaurant. You can sit and plug in your electronic device while eating the best French fries at any fast food place in Pinellas County. Big, crisp on the outside, and soft on the inside. The owners of this restaurant do not skimp on the quality of their product. Unlike their competitors, success has never caused them to reduce quality for quantity. We have been patronizing this place since they opened. They have a multitude of soda choices self- serve (as many as Wendy's) as well as fresh brewed iced tea. I love that they put a dollop of whipped cream on their milkshakes. The Po' Boy (shrimp) sandwiches are delicious and these are rare to find elsewhere, especially from a fast food location. Much more interesting food here than at the nearby hamburger joints. The sub roll on the Philly Cheese steaks has good flavor, too, and bread is not just cardboard to hold the meat, here.
