First time here as it was near my hotel. Cute, quaint w nice decor. I got a special Barbacoa burrito consisting or barbacoa, cheese, guacamole and cilantro I was disappointed. It was 9 bucks just for the burrito and was super bland and sooo greasy. In fact I couldn't even eat half of a half before it all fell through the bottom due to the escaping grease. Really excellent tacos. Service is quick, prices are reasonable, food is fresh. Everyone working there was very friendly and the variety of house-made salsas was impressive. The "mega hot" salsa is really the only one that's even warm by California standards, but the jalapeño has a really good fresh flavor. The only thing this restaurant lacks is variety in its tacos. I don't come here often but I love me some Salsa Limón tacos. There's something different about their tacos that have me going back. This particular time I visited for breakfast... but beware!! It doesn't have to be breakfast time to get anything from their breakfast menu because they serve it all day! Yay! Anyway... first time trying their breakfast tacos, I got chorizo and potato, they were interesting but good. They added a lot of potato and chorizo so if you don't like it to be that much you can just take some off as they don't actually mix it with the egg. Their salsas are really good but my favorite is the regular green one with jalapeño. Their regular tacos are normal size tacos and come with some cabbage mix on top which I really like. My friend ordered some tripas tacos and I tried one of them and it was the best tripa I've ever tried! I recommend anyone to try their tripas tacos. Place also offers authentic aguas frescas (horchata is my fav), regular sodas, tea and coffee. If you're looking for something different go to Salsa Limón! read more

I've been coming to Salsa Limon since they opened downtown. While I do like the food and daydream about the Horchata, I have one major issue with the staff and ability to get an order correct. Almost every single visit they've forgotten to make the order correct. I usually get the Veggie Quesadilla with avocado and extra cabbage on the side, unfortunately for some reason they consistently forget something or mess up the order. Either they just make a plain old cheese quesadilla, give me a quesadilla with meat or they leave out the cabbage or avocado. If this happened once or twice in all the times I've been there it wouldn't bother me so much, but it's the fact that they NEVER seem to get the order correct - whhyyy??? For this reason alone I'm giving them a three star rating. I will continue to come back for the Horchata and maybe a Quesadilla if I'm starving and have time to sit around and wait for them to correct my order. Moral of the story is ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ORDER - especially if you're taking it to go because these guys are consistently inconsistent! read more

I am usually pretty hesitant on liking Mexican joints (such as taco places and "Mexican" restaurants) due to the authenticity of the food that is made. Nothing can ever beat making a home made meal, or have my mom do the dirty work of making a very delicious meal. But I decided to try Salsa Limón today after seeing it every time I come and sit around at my husband's job. When you enter the place you are welcomed and enter a very open locale. The menu is varied and shows the different options that they have. They have a little of everything for all, I was surprised that they even have a salad type dish (which I will try next time). I had Salsa Limón for breakfast so I decided to have the Migas dish which is pretty much tortillas, eggs, and cheese (I'm sure it has other ingredients). You also choose your "filling" where they give you the different types of meats that you can add onto the dish along with a side of frijoles (beans). For drinks they have different freshly made juices such as OJ (made with a juicer there), they have on the side your typical refreshments, BUT they also had Horchata, Lemonade, and Jamaica (which I rarely see in Mexican restaurants). In retrospect, this place will now become a regular place to visit and have my fixing of tacos or breakfast migas when in Dallas. They're open for breakfast now and have late hours on the weekends which is a plus (for those who like to go to bars and clubs in downtown). read more

We lucked out and our AirBnB was in the apartments above Salsa Limon. If I lived here for real I would be down there eating breakfast tacos and burritos every damn day. I ordered the breakfast burrito with eggs, cheese, avocado, chorizo, and potato...this is what all breakfast burritos should try to be. It was amazing. They make everything fresh here, I could see them cracking fresh eggs to order and cooking my potatoes on the flat top. The burrito itself was gigantic. I can eat a lot, and I was only able to eat half of it. If you get take out, make sure to grab some of their hot sauces to go. I tried 3 of the 4, and they were all great. None lacked flavor or heat. My favorite was the fresh jalapeno one. After a night at some breweries, we stopped in for a quick chicken taco and it hit the spot perfectly. You have to get the flour tortilla, they toast it on the flat top and its buttery and delicious. This is was probably my favorite breakfast we had while in Dallas. read more

Menu is mostly a la carte "build your own basket". Some friends were raving about this place, so I went for breakfast and got a bunch of things to try. 1 Asada breakfast taco $3.00, 1 Bacon breakfast taco add potato $3.00, 1 Chorizo breakfast taco $2.50, 1 Barbacoa breakfast taco $2.50 and 1 Pastor breakfast taco $2.50. My favorites were the Barbacoa and Pastor, the barbacoa was super juicy and tender and the pastor had a nice crispy crunch on the outside. The chorizo is a bit salty but good as well. They use a strip and a half of bacon instead of chopped bits which I like. The potato they add is almost like mashed potato consistency which I actually really liked. The place is a really bright and interesting place with big windows. The thing that got me was the tacos not really being filled with ingredients or just using to big of a tortilla. The price point would be alright if they were filled more since they use 6" tortillas. I will be back to try El Campeon some point in time and update this review. read more

Very chill and modern place to eat some delicious classic Mexican tacos. I had the taco asado, chicken and barbacoa and i would recommend the asado and barbacoa. Very delicious quality meats! Although their flour tortillas are not made I house, they were GOOD! Better than other places like El Fenix. I drank an horchata and it tasted like the ones I've had in Mexico. I also had a couple of bites of The Campeón, which is highly recommended by USA Today, and i was surprisingly pleased with the flavors and taste.
