Weird situation, this and one other place were the only Mexican restaurants open in Hot Springs on Sun. 7-5. So we settled on Salsa's. Overpriced, but it was good fare. The salsa was great with a heavy touch of cilantro. The queso was good, with a hint of spiciness. We had enchiladas, dinner salad and a chimichanga. All were great. The service was sub par, but our waiter was friendly. They just don't check on ya very much. 3 out of 5 stars ain't bad. read more

This place is one of only a few DOG Friendly restaurants in Hot Springs. They have a big partially enclosed porch on the front that's easily accessed. Our service was excellent, and our dog was happily served a bowl of water. The food was good, and I recommend the Tortilla soup (big bowl, just the right spicy, very tasty). We stopped in to have lunch with family, and we didn't feel that staff rushed us--we stayed a long time. We were initially the only people on the porch, but the host didn't complain about having to serve us out there--more accommodating than many places. read more

This is my favorite Tex Mex resturant in the Hot Springs area. A nice clean establishment with excellent service. The chips, guacamole, and salsa are awesome. I love their sour cream chicken enchiladas. Although the enchiladas are my favorite everything else I've tried has been good. My husband and I have driven by here many times, and decided to try it out with my niece. Suffice it to say, we won't be back. First off, our cheese dip was served cold.... Yes, cold. I told our waitress it was cold, she apologized, took it to the kitchen and we waited... And waited... Seriously, how long does it take to heat up a bowl of cheese dip. We finally got a slightly warm bowl of runny cheese dip. Taste was decent, but extremely runny. My husband also ordered the appetizer of Fundido, cheese and chorizo sauce with tortillas. He finally got it after we had finished our entrees, but had to ask for tortillas. His 3 steak tacos were not served with the red sauce that the menu said is served with them.. When he asked for the red sauce, they brought him more salsa... Roasted jalapeños we requested, never served, but they were included in the price of the bill. Everything took way too long to arrive, Mexican restaurants are always quick with friendly service, but here not so much. On a good note, my red sangria was decent, the bottled beer was good, and the chips were plentiful and warm. Granted, this all happened on a holiday, 4th of July. I had beef enchiladas, beef tacos and rice. I've had better TV dinners. In fairness, this was only one course, but shouldn't ANY Mexican restaurant prepare at least passable enchiladas? The food here is just absolutely delicious. The wait staff is usually very friendly. Everything on the menu is so cheap too! Well cheap compared to the Mexican restaurants at home in Washington. Most items on the menu are between $4.50 and $7.50. And my boyfriend says the shredded beef is AWESOME. The only thing that is a little annoying is the guy who occasionally plays guitar and sings (it's really loud and hard to hold a conversation when he's there). But I have been there three times and he was only there one out of all three times so I would still recommend this restaurant to anyone! read more

Always a good choice for texmex food. The atmosphere is nice, reminds me of San Antonio. Love to eat the ranchero especial. Yum!

This was one of my favorite places to eat in Hot Springs for a quick, inexpensive lunch/dinner. Unfortunately, management and staff have changed and we will no longer be visiting this establishment. A couple weeks ago my husband and I went there on one of our rare date nights. Upon entering the place has an overwhelming scent of fabuloso cleaning product and we do not see a familiar face among wait staff. We are seated and we both order margaritas his frozen, mine on the rocks. The waiter brings us a frozen gelatinous blob that is so gloppy you can't drink it through the straw- we dared to taste it - freezer burned syrup? My rocks margarita was similar with. Different consistency. After trying the chips and salsa and also finding it to be of unusual flavor/ staleness we decided to leave we told if waiter who was very nice but spoke with the manager telling him honestly why we were going and he didn't seem to care. Thankfully we can visit picantes downtown where the old manager is now working. read more

first time we were overwhelmed by the smell of Fabuloso. at least it was clean. second time, the service was bad. i don't think the management takes time to develop the staff as they are distracted by their cell phone, eat and drink on the job as they wait on us. not going back. read more

Terrible service. Terrible food. Terrible drinks. Beer tasted old, like it had been cold then hot then cold. House margaritas were like drinking a bottle of overly lime flavored margarita mix. Strawberry TOP SHELF frozen margarita wasn't frozen...more like a room temperature liquid strawberry drink. Food...was just bad. A mix between Taco Bell and a frozen meal from the grocery store. Service was weird. The server wasn't friendly and acted as though he didn't care. We told him we wanted fundu and got charged for it plus a bowl of queso and guacamole (which we also told him the guac tasted like mainly onion, he laughed and said "I don't know what you expect guacamole to taste like.", shrugged his shoulders and walked off). I literally felt like we were being Punked. We came to Hot Springs from Dallas and are very disappointed to spend $80 for such a bad experience. Don't waste your hard earned money at this place. It's literally the worst experience and meal/drinks I've ever had. read more
