It's been a few years since we've gone to Salt Grass and I have no idea why we waited so long. Everything was excellent. Husband had the Caesar salad, the country fried steak, and the Moscow mule. He said the salad was better than Outback's or any other steak house. The mule was the best one he has ever had. I had the tenderloin bites, which is an appetizer and the white cosmopolitan. The steak was incredible and the drink was delicious. We went on a Friday evening and even though it was pretty imposing, the service was still impeccable.

Visited on a random early Saturday night and we were able to sit pretty quickly! It was a cool western vibe with great service! Our waitress was great and there were many people who stopped by to check on us! I got a Pomegranate Mojito and it was so refreshing! I also recommend the pineapple margarita! The food was pretty good but I was definitely expecting a little more flavor for a steakhouse and the price but it tasted good!

The service was great! No issues with the staff! The food though, very disappointing. Caesar salad was drenched in sauce(you could drink it with a straw). Bread was very dry and flavorless. Ribeye had no flavor with a coat of random seasoning. A good steak needs salt at most. Brussel sprouts were sweat and over cooked. Cheesecake tastes fake, cheap and freezer burnt. The establishment was decent, bathroom was clean. Not worth the money imo

So at first I think we got forgotten. Waited 20 min after seating right on time for our 7:00 reservation. Called over a server from another table to ask if we could get some service he apologized and said he would be right back. That was Juan he then became our server for the evening. So gracious and kind. Met our every need. After that moment food came fast and hot. I had the Bourbon glazed pork chops, hubby and friend had rib eyes cooked to perfection and my friend had the Oscar filet she said it was amazing. We share a bottle of Pinot Noir and topped off with chocolate cake. A piece so big that it satisfied all four of us. Juan took us on as an extra table and even decorated the cake himself. Wil be back.

The food is good, wait was almost an hour. Only reason three stars is location, and food. Expensive.

Tried 3 different oysters- delicious. Finally got the scallops as an entree and they were some of the best I've ever had, plated over a thick cut of pork belly. Excellent food quality and happy to pay the fair prices for it. Waiter was also very friendly and attentive. Love!

They definitely have/had some pretty high prices compared to other eateries in the area. I'm not sure if that is caused by cost of goods or location or what, but I think that did come into play when a lot of economic hardship is happening all over. Like I mentioned above, I DID like their food, but it definitely had to be a special occasion type of thing, due to the high prices. When we did go, I LOVED the Maryland Crab Dip. It reminded me of my favorite crab dip in the world, at the SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta. We also had the Green Bean Almandine that was on special last time we went and that was pretty good, but you have to be a green bean fan, for sure. I decided to try the sushi as my main dish last time, and had the Everything Crunch Maki, which consisted of cooked salmon, jalapeño, and cream cheese. It was pretty good, and had a little hint of spice to it from the jalapeño, which cut the heavy cream aspect. My husband had the Grilled Atlantic Salmon for his entree, and gave me a few bites. It was cooked well and the mushroom risotto below it was very flavorful and filling. The cute nautical ambiance and excellent service were always appreciated, so no complaints there either. I think if they had been in a different area with less expensive rent and cost of goods, I may have visited more often.

Most of the highlight was the various types of burgers and fries they had, so my partner and I got two kinds, and we both enjoyed our respective meals. I had the block burger, which was as good as I imagined it to be, with juicy patty cooked to medium and every ingredient needed to make a good burger. The poutine had a lot of beef gravy and cheese curds, which made the dish a comprehensive experience to consume, rather than just fries. The duck duck goose fries were amazing! The duck confit, cheese curds, mayo, gravy, and gooseberry gastrique combination worked super well on top of the fries, because they altogether basically made it a gourmet dish that I had to eat with a fork. Finally, the sloppy nick was seasoned very well, even if we got the vegan version, which used impossible meat instead of ground beef. It was still really great! Hope everyone who visits Omaha gets to try this spot! Their wall has quite a few articles that recognized them as a locally renowned burger joint, and I could see why. Since they can be busy, I would recommend people getting there earlier to secure a good table spot, if dining in.

For starters, we had the bacon-wrapped shrimp, which came with mushrooms on the side. It didn't look particularly appetizing when it arrived, but it was absolutely delicious. The mushrooms were especially good--salty without being overpowering, which I really enjoyed. To drink, I tried the sangria. It didn't particularly stand out, but it was still enjoyable. For my entrée, I chose the whiskey ribeye cooked medium-rare, and it came out exactly how I like it. The steak was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. The salad bar wasn't huge, but it had a nice variety of toppings to choose from. The atmosphere is rustic with very dim lighting, and there were a few TVs throughout the restaurant as well. It does get quite loud when it's busy, though. Our waitstaff was attentive without being overbearing, which I appreciated. Overall, it was a good experience, and I will definitely be back.

But I'm not a huge fan. First, it's really, really dark and really, really noisy. Not a place for a conversation, especially if you are dining with kids. The salad bar is, well, meh. The tastiest part is the super sweet poppy seed dressing. As far as the stars of the show go, I've eaten several of their steaks. They've all been well marinaded and perfectly cooked, but the ribeye and strip had a lot of exterior gristle that should have been trimmed off before grilling. Meals come with a baked potato, and other sides are available. I wish creamed spinach and corn were options (it is the Cornhusker state, after all), but those are just my preferences. We made reservations weeks ago (we knew the College World Series would be in town) so we did not have the 2+ hour wait that less organized folks were complaining about. We were seated right away - yay, OpenTable! Service was very attentive, and our meal's timing was impeccable. Omaha has a lot of choices for carnivores, and The Drover is a long way from the worst I've tried. I'm just not not sure it's where I'll get my steak fix in the future.

Don't ask me how to pronounce it. No one seems to know…read more There is something about Spezia that is so welcoming. No wonder it's always packed. Friendly service, comfy setting, and oh yeah - the food! Unfortunately for me, there is too much seafood on the menu but there's always something. People rave about the seafood dishes so I'll trust them and say it must be good. I'm just not into it. On this visit, we each ordered a cocktail. I decided to try the lemon martini which I never order and OH MY GOODNESS. It was awesome! They nailed it. The limoncello brought it home. My dining partner had a dirty martini and was satisfied as well. We enjoyed a Spezia salad which featured mixed greens, prosciutto, tomato, Kalamata olives, and a house vinaigrette. It all combined so well. The lettuce was wonderfully fresh, no need to pick out rotting leaves like some places. The dressing was simply light and delish. We shared a plate of spaghetti. You get several options to add to it. The grilled spicy Italian sausage sounded good. I'm not sure which was better. The sausage or the marinara sauce. Both were soooooo good!! The sausage was truly grilled and spicy and just amazing, and it was not greasy either. The marinara sauce challenged my own that I make at home. We devoured that plate of spaghetti which was big enough to share. I forgot to take a picture as it was served so I am sharing a tight shot of half the order after we divided it.

Spezia, you let me down!…read more Our waiter struggled to keep up with the dinner rush. We arrived for our reservation and were seated at 6:40 where we weren't greeted by our waiter for quite awhile. It took a long time to get our drinks and I had to ask for bread so we decided to skip appetizers and go straight to our entree. When ordering the entree our waiter said "and which salad would you like?" And then listed the salad options. Normally when ordering a main and the waiter says which salad do you want that's because the salad comes with the meal. Nope. We were charged $11 per salad that we didn't even really want. The salads were your average side salad, but thankfully had good dressings. We hadn't brought up salads, the waiter did when we ordered our entree. So we were disappointed to have $20+ in salads that we didn't request until the waiter offered them. Our salads were finished for at least 15 minutes before our main entree came out at about 7:30, nearly an hour after we had been seated. My shrimp scampi was good, the broccolini was a touch under cooked but the flavors were still good, and the shrimp was surprisingly large in size and cooked exactly how it should be. Had we been served quicker and not offered things that didn't come with our meal when ordering our meal we may have been happier, hard to say. The table next to us was sat about 10 minute after us and had a different waitress. They received their entire meal (including bread & apps) and left before we were offered dessert. The food is good, I won't discredit that at all. But when coming to a restaurant like this you are expecting a level of service that we just didn't get. I'm sure we'll try again in the future and if service is better I will definitely update my review but for now, this was a let down of a birthday dinner.

This was a business dinner with colleagues. We started at the bar and the bartender was great. Seating is comfy and the décor is very nice. They offer all the top shelf spirits you might want that area mainstream. The bartender was able to do anything you want with them. The food offered there is the full menu, so we started with some onion rings to nosh on while drinking. Those onion rings were very interesting, with a thicker dough-style breading, they were very good. Next was to sit down for dinner and I apologize for forgetting our server's name, but he's been there about 15 years and he was great! Perfect amount of attention to our party, great pace, great suggestions too. The menu was tough, as there were several options, so I asked him to choose for me - he did a nice job. Wine service was great... Food was excellent! It's been a minute since having a nice prime rib, so that's what I went with and this was one of the best ever... it melted in my mouth! Their bacon appetizer was unbelievably good! Smokey, tender, and so much flavor... WOW! We definitely enjoyed our dinner here. Wine list offers great selection of options VIP treatment for a special occasion. Where it fell apart were several food items. What was delicious: hash browns (outstanding), green beans, creamed corn, sourdough bread, What was subpar: Beef tartare--probably one of the worst I've ever eaten. Took one bite, it was stringy. Hoped I didn't get sick. Unpleasant texture. Not mixed tableside, we mixed the raw egg into the dish ourselves. Three steaks were severely undercooked. My steak (bone in filet special) was MR, I asked for MW. It tasted as if it was marinated low quality beef, chewy, difficult to cut, (yes, this filet was not easy to cut with a quality steak knife), odd texture. colleagues steak was basically raw (appeared bloody red)--he'd requested MR, sent it back to kitchen twice! Another colleagues steak was very Rare. Steaks were really disappointing as was the preparation. Our party of five was surprised when the steak was returned still undercooked. Considering the quality of my bone in filet steak and the undercooked steaks, I won't return to this location. There's a kitchen issue that needs to be resolved and the manager when that steak was recooked for second time should have observed it was still very rare when he delivered it because our table of five all did. Less than stellar experience due to the subpar beef tartare and steaks.
