Some of the reviews that you find here on Yelp mention that the wait staff is slow to provide service to seated customers. That proved true for me, but not for a family seated just 4 feet away from me. After sitting at my table awaiting a server to approach me, a hostess seated a family of three at a nearby table. It was fascinating watching the superb service that family of three received. Their drink and appetizer order was taken immediately and brought to them quickly. As I watched them enjoy th their appetizers. It occurred to me that I still hadn't seen my server. So I walked to the hostess station and pointed out that I was being ignored. She told me a server would come to me shortly. The server lady who arrived (a different one from the one serving the family of three) looked overworked and harried. She took my order probably 20 minutes after I was initially seated. By that time, the family of three was enjoying their main course. The food was good and the atmosphere on the rear deck (outside) was very nice. Will I return? Maybe, if I have lots of time to kill. Like if I want to have a lengthy chat with a dinner companion. Then the slow service here will allow a lengthy conversation without interruption. Unless I get the server who was assigned to the family of three, that is. read more

I give all stars to this baby! My dad was being a real jerk so he proceeded to go out to Sam's beach bar cause ‍ a midlife crisis! He slides in his seat to get out and get a splinter in his rear end that is huge. He tried getting it out only to have to go to the doctor to pull it out it was so big! Sam's has always been a great place to catch a sunset, enjoy dinner and drinks. That pretty much changed for me today. I have been during their renovations, service was still good and the menu was fine. We went tonight looking forward to a nice dinner and beautiful view. We had a beautiful view. The staff seems very disinterested in being there, then when we were seated the menu had been further reduced with a ridiculous price hike. I completely understand inflation... +18 for a salad and a additional +6 to add chicken is not worth it to me. We actually left! I've never done that before. The food is worth 4 stars, the wait time is 1 star, but the view makes it 5 stars! This seems to be a "regulars" hangout as everyone knew everyone. The have 25 craft beers, a good menu and live music, that sounded really good. I'm only giving it 5 stars because I love a great sunset and the water. read more

Great restaurant! You can eat indoors or outside but why would you eat indoors when you can eat seaside with a nice breeze - even on the hottest day. The atmosphere is fun, great music, funny little signs everywhere. Just a happy place in general. The food is delicious and the price is cheap. I loved how the manager of the restaurant came to our table (and everyone else's) to see how the food and service was. I love that. It shows they care. I will definitely go back and I would recommend this establishment to anyone who wants that Florida feel! read more

Probably my favorite restaurant in Florida. It is so relaxing and the waitstaff is always friendly and accommodating. Open air with a large deck overlooking the Gulf. Keep an eye out for dolphins. The food is very good, lots of seafood. But I like the burgers. If you go for dinner, bring your sunglasses. And, bring your dog. This is a really great, local bar and grill. They serve ice cream and are located right on the beach. Hudson beach isn't flashy but it's nice and it's a good place to get away for a few hours and have fun without spending too much.. Visiting my folks and they had coupons for this place and said they have been jonesing to check it out. Great spot to grab a bite. They have outside seating if you want and plenty of inside seating with giant windows that were open letting in the fresh air and smell of the ocean. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with pineapple and mango salsa that was good and we all shared wings for appetizers that were nice and crispy. The atmosphere here is nice. There really isn't anything unique about it, as far as your typical Florida outdoor bar/grill is concerned, but it's still very nice. They have live music a lot. Parking is horrible on weekend nights. The menu is not very accommodating to non-seafood eaters, but the staff is friendly and the restaurant seems faulty clean. Definitely one of the cleaner, more fun places to go in Hudson. If you aren't driving, try the fish bowl! It has 11 shots of liquor. read more

What a horrible experience tonight. We've been going to Sam's for about 5 years now. My family was in town and I was bragging about how good they were so we went. I expected a wait because we got there at 6:30. waited maybe 45 minutes. The manager walks up to us and apologizes for the wait saying that there has been a table sitting with about 6 people at it for going on 4 hours. We were okay with that but agreed with him that 4 hours is a little long, especially for a Friday night. We finally get to sit down at our table, waitress comes, very nice in the beginning. We order our drinks and when she brings them back we go ahead and order our meals. We ordered shrimp baskets, fish baskets, chicken fingers a Mahi entree. My sister, mother and I all ordered a side salad. After another 35 minutes of waiting for our salads, my husband gets up. While he is gone, low and behold, our meal arrives. Like all of it, including the side salads. Now typically, the salads come before the meal, but our waitress somehow assumed we wanted them with the meal. Ok, her bad. BUT... all of meals were cold. The fish baskets were still cold in the center and super mushy. The chicken fingers were just that, the size of a chicken finger, They were so small. My nephew said the Mahi was fine, but his potatoes were cold and hard. Now, in the past, I have always just ordered the shrimp basket and it has always been perfect. Not so much this time. Typically I would get about 10-12 shrimp. I got seven and my sister got 6. For $15.95, that was a rip off. The manager comes over, of course apologizes, brings my mother and husband two more pieces of fish and my nephew some more potatoes. Fish was still cold in the middle and mushy. Potatoes tasted scorched. Such a huge embarrassment considering we were bragging about this place to our family members. But there was no sense in calling the manager because he did not seem affected by the fact that he had customers that were not satisfied. He seemed to like blaming everything on it being Friday night. Really, the only good thing about Sam's is the no smoking now. But that pretty much sums it up. We will not be back for a while until something changes. A one star is far too much at this point. read more

Waitress was really nice, checked in on our table of 7 an appropriate amount of times. Seems like they're doing some renovations to expand their area and improve the entertainment opportunities. Very good food. Huge portions. Everybody enjoyed their entrees from Cuban sandwiches to burger. Excellent view of the gulf from our outdoor table. Our server was not attentive. Beverages were completely out for a long time before we saw her again. She said she had too many tables which is a shame for customers. The band was good however they were so loud you couldn't hear one another. All that said, try Sam's Beach Bar. The few hiccups are worth the food. Just prepared for a possible meal with weak service. Here's a place that's a pleasant surprise. On the water, clean and in Hudson. A good variety of food and drink. Entertainment from 7pm most nights 1pm Saturday. Pork sliders were excellent and fries were crispy on the outside and creamy inside. Seafood wrap was loaded. Rice bowl had plenty of meat and avacado. More beans and rice than I could eat. Friendly fast staff. You pay a little more for the view but a place I 'd revisit. So on a revisit had nachos which were very good. Nice dollop of guac cheese sauce beans and pickled jalapeños. Shrimp were good size and hamburgers were ordered well done but were still juicy. I added blue cheese. Fries were still very good. read more

Great local spot with good food, drinks, and excellent location. Right on Hudson Beach you get ocean views and that Tiki Bar experience that makes you feel like you're vacationing. Sam's on the Beach is usually a stop for us when we're in the area, but their prices have become outrageous. My daughter ordered a grouper sandwich, thinking a sandwich couldn't be too expensive. It was listed "market price" on the menu but how much could a sandwich be? It was $27, double the price of our other entrees. That's INSANE. Thanks but no thanks Sam's. An hour and a half wait and mediocre food the shrimp bucket was very bland. The only good thing I had was the piña colada.

Right by the water for your people viewing pleasure. Stopped by here during a little road trip for dinner one night for the following reasons; Tiki hut, sunset, water side, trash food and cocktails. The first three were for my companion, the last 2 were for me. Food: Their menu revolves around American junk. My favorite kind of food. Everything is fried, even the frozen cocktails. So, check your pansy "cholesterol" and atherosclerosis at the door. I wasn't feeling all the frisky so I went with the pork and slaw sliders which are hard to screw up IMO. Well... at least the pork part is. I think what might make or break this simple little dish for most people is the slaw. I thought it was all okay. If I were to come back it definitely wouldn't be for the food though. I'm more of the 'atmosphere' type so that gets this place the stars. Even though the place was full, we happened to arrive at just the right moment. Snagging a seat outside at a table closest to the water. We had an unobstructed view of the sunset and all the weirdos strolling down the boardwalk. My companion got her 4920 photos of the sunset and we both enjoyed the people watching. It was pretty great. Service was a bit slow, but courteous and patient. Their parking lot is small so if you don't happen to get to find a spot in there then I believe there is a metered parking lot right next to this place. Very casual, wear flippy floppies if you want.
