I have been an avid coffee fan since I was a child. I have been going here since it opened up 11 or 12 years ago. The beans are roasted on the premises and if you are in proximity while the roasting is going on, the aroma is irresistable. The owner is considered a local hero by myslef and my friends. She is very kind and knows how to make her regular customers feel welcome. Whenever I travel I try and sniff out the best local coffee. I've found some great cups , but for consistency, nobody beats San Marcos. It's one of the best cups of coffee I've had, everytime. Don't know what the horrible reviews were for or maybe they got this place confused with somewhere else because I got my coffee freshly ground and the owner was super nice. If you're from around here you probably have walked past before but I figured I would give it a shot while I wait for my car after getting serviced at Js auto clinic down the street. I was pretty disappointed here. I was hoping for a place to sit and relax but no go! It's take out only. Decent parking lot, and some lawn furniture outside. But, the coffee tasted like lipstick, and I didn't get to have any a/c or comfy seating. Grab and go only. I wish I went to a big chain instead. read more

Props to this place for roasting their own beans, which warrants the 2 stars. It's a tiny place with a roaster that takes up one side of the shop. After being stared down/vibed out by one of the barista ladies while waiting in line, I ordered an Americano, and when I asked for room in the cup, she says, "room?" (In my mind I'm wondering, "Have you ever sold a cup of coffee?! Room. It's the space you leave in the cup so I can put cream in it.") So, besides that, unless you're Armenian or already have a relationship with them and they like you, I don't recommend this place. There are plenty of other coffee joints in the area that provide tasty bean and friendly service. Also know that this place has daytime hours only (7a-5p) and ain't even open on Sundays. read more

Not only was the iced mocha latte delicious (with chocolate pieces in the bottom of and not just syrup) but the owners were so friendly and welcoming. I appreciated being greeted the minute I walked through the door and not just once they were finished with their conversation. Cute LITTLE coffee shop. Perfect for a quick grab and go in the mornings. It is very close to my house so at times I walk here (I'd choose this over Starbucks). The coffee they serve is really good quality and their desserts/snacks are very fresh. Just the one star off for customer service. The ladies are cool at times but they don't really know how to deliver good service (communication, friendliness, thankfulness). So sometimes I feel un-welcomed. read more

They get five stars for the Malabar low-acid blend that I use in my drip machine. They get about 1-star for my latte, which tasted very meh. Such a bummer b/c the family that runs it is really nice and I'd love to support them in all aspects. This review is strictly about K-cups. They are just dreadful. I like k-cups made by Peets, Community coffee, Caribou, and some even by Starbucks. Not crazy about The ubiquitous Green Mountain. Tried almost every variety by San Marcos. The best of them made Green Mountain look like the Holy Grail of K cups. read more
