We are fairly new to Oviedo so we are trying new restaurants all the time. We saw Santorinis and decided to try it. I ordered the stuffed peppers and my wife orderd a gyro. The food was wonderful!!!! I could only eat 1 stuffed pepper and I took the other home for later. The next day the stuffed pepper was as good as before. On another occasion I ordered two different desserts to-go. After picking up my wife's computer I thought I would try a Greek restaurant I saw the other day. It is located in downtown Oviedo and is a little mom n pop shop and I am a sucker for mom n pop places. I walked in and took a couple of pictures. I was greeted by the server and she told me to sit anywhere so I sat down near the window. The first thing I noticed was the table was not cleaned properly and asked the server to clean the table. She quickly wiped down the table and even moved the salt and pepper shakers. I ordered an unsweetened Iced Tea with Lime but they only had lemon. When she returned with my drink I inquired if there was a lunch menu and she pointed to the bottom left part of the menu. After a few minutes I nodded at her and she came right to the table. I ordered a cup of the Avgolemono, a small Greek salad and a Gyro. My soup came out very quickly and I was warned it was very hot so I chose to let it cool down a little. Once it cooled down for about 2 minutes I tasted it. The soup was very bland overall. You could barely taste the lemon and it needed some seasoning. I added some salt to try and help with the blandness but that was futile. My server is now showing up with my salad and Gyro less than five minutes after bringing me my soup. I let her know I was not pleased with the soup and she took it back. The salad was presented nicely but the dressing was weak on flavor and they used the core of the iceberg lettuce. It was nothing special to be honest. The Gyro had a generous amount of meat but it was nothing special. The pita was very fluffy and not the traditional pita you expect with a Gyro. The tzatziki sauce could have used some more dill and there was no feta on the Gyro. I was unimpressed to be honest. I was asked if I wanted dessert but I did not want to try any more food because what I had was mediocre at best. I read the reviews before entering the place and noticed there were good reviews but very few of them. I can only assume that over time the place has lost what made it special. As I left I was speaking to two of the other patrons and they come for lunch regularly because it is close to work. It pains me to write a review like this for a mom n pop restaurant because I normally find some of the best food at mom n pop places. Right up the road I found a little hole in the wall BBQ joint that blew me away. I suspect this place has just become complacent over time because it is apparent that they really care by the way they plate the food. The choice of pita bread could have been better. Tasting the soup before serving it would have helped to catch the blandness before the customer did. The same goes for the dressing being offered with the salad. I usually try the basics at an ethnic restaurant to see how they fair before trying the more complicated dishes. I will come back in a month or two to see if this was simply an off day. read more

Hell yeah! this place was worth the wait. Went on a Sunday afternoon. We ordered two appetizers, two meals (with an extra side), two beers, and two desserts for $65. Oh my word, we had so much food left over. Initially, the prices looked high, however totally worth it considering the amount and quality of the food. This is an all Greek restaurant. My husband and I picked up take-out from Santorini Restaurant last night. At 7PM on a Friday evening, the place was empty. He ordered the lamb gyro (which came with fries) and I got the moussaka (which came with nothing on the side). Both meals were mediocre, at best. Because the eggplant was cut lengthwise and I got an outer edge (vs width-wise in circular disks with less skin and more flesh), there was a TON of tough skin to chew and cut through. In a very cute town in Florida just happen to stubble upon it with my sisters while visiting my daughter recently. I was lecturing at a local university's MFA writer's program in the area and felt a hankering for Greek. This small, strip mall, family run (or at least it seemed that way) restaurant served up some wonderful humas, their pitas were full of warm and toasty delicous flavor I'm not used to getting from peta flats, and the main course... that grape leaf wraps, lamb with garlic, and gyro meat combination platter was just great. Santorini is overpriced, and in my opinion, unimpressive. I went there for lunch with a coworker, and spent far more than I was expecting to on a small side of potatoes and a salad. The side of potatoes had maybe 4 or 5 potato quarters in a butter sauce and I paid almost 4 dollars for it. If you're looking for a good value, try somewhere else. read more

My mom and I LOVE this hidden Greek restaurant in the heart of Oviedo! They have a decent selection of Greek beer to complement the combination platter that has stuffed grape leaves, gyro meat, and my personal favorite- moussaka! I wouldn't make a special trip to eat here, but it's worth a stop if you are in the area. The decor is lacking but don't be put off by the odd murals (one wall is Greece, the other is French). Service is fast and friendly. For lunch we had a gyro, good with lots of gyro meat, and spanikopita. The spinach/feta mixture in phyllo was a large individually wrapped portion, not cut from a pan. Very tasty. It came with a side and I picked Greek salad, also good. For dessert we shared the galaktoboureko. Good thing because the piece was massive. The semolina-based custard flavor was very mild though and could have used a bump up in honey or cinnamon flavor. With 3 glasses of house white wine, the bill was $44. A little pricey for lunch but it's right in a row of antique malls which is why we ended up there. read more

I'm just in shock at how terrible this restaurant was. We walked in there were 2 guests sitting eating and a guy in the kitchen texting. No one greeted us, as we attempted to sit a lady (server) came out of the restroom and said we couldn't sit at the that table it's for parties of more people... how would we know we were seating ourselves. So sat in a booth, ordered saganaki to start and our drinks. My husband says I have a bad feeling about this place and just as soon as he said it a microwave beeped and out came our saganaki... WOW.... we both ordered Gyros platters and I asked for no lettuce or tomato on my sandwich and he asked for no lettuce or onion on his sandwich... Now, the platter is 1 sandwich and a salad just to give you a heads up... Our plates came out with a semi warm gyro and a pile of cheese with cucumber an olive and tomato on his and onion on mine... uhm where's the salad? She responded with you said no lettuce... Yeah on the sandwiches!!! Oh, we were confused about that she says... What's confusing about your menu says lettuce on the sandwich to which we both said we didn't want on the sandwich! She offered to have him remake it however as Jenky as the situation was we just asked for the bowl of lettuce to assemble our own salads on our plates. AMAZING authentic Greek home cooking! Everything we tried was fresh and delicious! The Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves) are THE BEST I have ever had-warm, juicy, and not at all bitter. We were pleasantly surprised that they had live entertainment on Friday and Saturday night also! A Greek musician and belly dancer were there and put on a fantastic show while we enjoyed dinner ! We went here for lunch after hiking nearby barr trail with a friend and their dog. There were some outdoor seats so it was no issue that the dog was with us. I would call ahead and make sure they have room available outside if you plan on bringing your pup as theres only 3 or 4 tables out there. Anyway the food was great. I had a gyro and fries and everything was delicious and served quickly. They gyro, fries, and lemonade were probably about 10 dollars total. My companion however ordered one of their appetizer samplers---it was a combination of tzatziki sauce, an eggplant dip, hummus and a feta cheese spread served with pita. That I could do without again. The eggplant and feta spreads were good---the hummus and tzatziki I could do without. Don't get me wrong, the tzatziki was great on the gyro---but just dipping it into pita did nothing for me. I guess the sampler served its purpose, I now know what I will and will not order again. But 16 bucks for that seemed a little steep. Other than that everything was great. With its generous portions, delicious food, and proximity to Barr trail this is likely to become a regular stop after hiking mornings. read more

After our first negative experience 3 years ago we have been back but we now always get take out. My husband is a big fan of the gyro and says it is the best he has had in Orlando. This restaurant was a good find on a Sunday afternoon...we found it through Yelp and decided to try it. People in my party had a gyro, moussaka, pasticios and stuffed eggplant. Sorry for misspellings. Moussaka could have been hotter but tasted so good. Stuffed eggplant had more zucchini than eggplant but was delicious. Gyro meat delicious also. The only reason a 4 instead of 5 is because floor and restrooms were dirty...we went at an off time so felt dirtiness wasn't justified. read more

Wow ! Let me start off by saying ,this place is excellent .I came in by myself on my lunch break & I had awesome service ,the waitress had about 5 other tables and she still managed to go back and forth checking on me and her other customers. After looking over the menu I decided to order the lamb kabob which comes with rice and your choice of a side item .I picked the Greek potatoes they are to die for ! Very juicy and best lamb I ever had .I was way too full but I ended up taking a dessert home ,I had a couple pieces of baklava for my wife to try and she loved it . Food is Great, Service is Horrible. I have taken my family to this restaurant 3 different times. The first time, the service was excellent. We met the owner and she was terrific. The second and third time we went, we were waiting 25 minutes just to place an order. Today was our third time there. We went at noon and there were only two other tables. We waited 15 minutes for our waitress to even bring us drinks. Then we waited another 25 minutes for her to come back and take our order. After an hour, I couldn't wait any longer. I probably eat here a couple times a month because I start to crave it! Their greek salads with chicken are delicious and always fresh. I love their calamari and pita with hummus. If I have any room left over in my stomach I always get a baklava to go. The owner is very sweet and I love the serving staff. They really get to know you and it is always welcoming.
