since mamma joan's closed, my family and i have had to find another local pizza place that will be out go-to, so we tried this out! the price range is definitely in the ~artisinal 5 dollar a slice~ range that artichoke is as well, but the flavors are much closer to that of a real nyc slice. although... they definitely do lean more on burning the crust when they heat it up- so with quarantine underway we definitely ask that they don't reheat our slices and just package them cold, so that we can reheat them at home (and not burn them) that being said, the slices are SO GOOD and my go-to is definitely the plain cheese on sicilian slice-style bread. i definitely miss the prices of mamma joan's, and i understand i'm paying more because of the area's gentrification, so all things considered, the slices are super worth it! read more

so we are part of bus tour. came in with family of 4. wanted a whole pie as advertised. however they said too busy, only 2 people left behind me. and no one else came in. only wanted to sell us slices that looked like they have been sitting for hours and over cooked. Pizza is good, but a little overpriced for the size of a slice in my opinion: $3/19 for a slice/pie of basic, $4.50/22 for pepperoni and $5.50/24.50+ for anything specialty. I guess the extra $ pays for the "artisanal" style. In that sense, I'd rather get a slice here than at Artichoke two blocks away, but personally, I'd much rather a good ol' fashioned greasy new york style slice. But what really (somewhat irrationally) bothers me is that for a place with "Soda" in their name, you'd think they'd have more than mexican coke, diet coke and sprite, which are also over priced (20 oz here costs more than a liter in the store). I have never heard of this place, and the name seemed a bit odd, but after a recommendation by a colleague I decided to order a large casual lunch for a crew working on set in a nearby studio. Their slices are large, 1/8 of a 18" or 20" pizza. Chicken parm sandwich was tasty and nom-worthy if not refined. For some reason, they packed utensils and napkins even though I didn't check the option in UberEats. Their menu could be more varied. A calzone, chicken roll, or garlic knots would be welcome.
