Can only speak for the plain cheese pizza slices aka "The Rita" -- that said, pizza in Bushwick is in safe hands at Sauce and Soda. the slices are on the larger side bc the pies are 20" so the slices are a bit more substantial. the crust is on the crispier side so it has a bit of crunch and flakiness but still a firm airy charred crust that holds up a flavorful tomato sauce and a thin layer of melted mozzarella. the balance of thinness of the slices while still remaining relatively solid and not flopping is a great balance for a delivery of sauce, cheese, and crust. there are a variety of slices here on top of of non-pizza items but i say order the plain 'zza and enjoy the beauty of simplicity. the interior is very very clean. there is seating by the window and small tables that line one side of the pizzeria. the pizza shop is brightly lit and welcoming while still having a modern vibe / look. the service has been quick & friendly and they make sure your slices come out hot not lukewarm.

Fresh from the oven, yummy basil, and the most delicious mozzarella, I'm in pizza heaven. I keep getting lucky with these pizza spots because the pizza hit the spot! What's keeping this from a 5 star review is the cleanliness of the spot. The marinara sauce sits on the counter in a huge container and uncovered. Like anything could fly into it! So ick. Pizza was yummy though.

For the vegans: After a night out this pizza hit the spot! Sauce was on point, and the crust hit! The guys behind the counter were super nice, friendly and with quick service. Me and my date walked in when I saw the large sign for vegan pizza. I was like, "Yo, let's go!" And they had the vegan pepperoni right in the window waiting for me haha. Ambiance was chill and comfortable, and a great place for a tasty plant-based slice to satisfy the craving! Good job Sauce & Soda! You killed it!

Sauce and Soda is a pizza place that I walk by on occasion on my way to get my nails done. It looks like a typical NY pizza slice shop. I told myself one day I will try it out. On a snowy/rainy Saturday, we decided to order it for delivery. We got the Holy Roni and I knew it was going to be big since it says 20", but it was massive! When the pizza box got delivered, I couldn't believe it. Each slice was so big, I wanted to cut it even smaller. I decided I was lazy and folded it in half. The crust was good. I liked the taste, very gluten, but I wish it was more crispy. The sauce I was very tangy. I'm a saucy girl, but it was maybe a little too tart for me. Maybe because the pizza was so thin, the sauce to crust ratio was a little too much for my taste buds. The pepperoni and cheese were pretty standard. The next day, we still had half a pizza left over so I reheated in the oven. Usually, I like to pop it in the air fryer, but slices were too big, it wouldn't fit. The pizza was better the next day since the crust was crispier. I will definitely order again when we have more than 2 people eating.

I popped into Sauce and Soda for the first time yesterday after being enticed by the board outside advertising vegan options. I opted for the vegan slice and a mixed greens salad, which sounded delicious from the description of walnuts, cranberries, and greens mixed together with other ingredients. The slice itself was quite hefty and filling. It could've used some more veggies but overall I would have it again and next time add some red pepper flakes which I was too lazy to grab yesterday. Now the Salad Department is where the points really take a spill. What I got was far from the description on the board and I was not told that they were out of all the ingredients that make up the Mixed Greens Salad because I would've asked for a discount since I still wanted a salad to go with my slice. What I got was a bunch of yellow lettuce with some bell peppers, cucumber, onion, and tomato with dressing which was edible but nowhere near worth $11 and far from the medley of sweet and savory ingredients described on the board. I was offered an additional slice for my disappointment but declined since I wasn't hungry enough. I don't think I'll return anytime soon but would come back if they will actually serve the real Mixed Greens Salad.

We were going to a concert around the corner, stopped for a beer at Brooklyn Beer, and grabbed a pie at Sauce and Soda. It was amazing. The dough was on point, crisp and perfect. It was heavily cheered and meated. I ordered a to go pepperoni, they had a sausage and pepperoni that was meant for slices that came out first that they offered to me, so I took that.

Sauce and Soda's Holy Roni slices arrived piping hot, and with a gracious amount of pepperoni! They were tasty, however the amount of grease on them was overwhleming. It seeped through the paper, the box, and was impossible to eat without being drenched in. In addition, it caused the paper to be stuck to the cheese and pull off when I tried to separate the slices. Good flavor and arrived piping hot, so I will give the benefit of the doubt/another shot!

So me and my girlfriend stop by to have a slice ...when We walk in the lady was cleaning ..so that's a good sign . Nobody wants to eat in a dirty spot lol....the slice was HUGE bigger then normal. The women who rung me up was friendly which is the way an employee should treat a customer .. you be surprised how many places I went to eat and the staff was miserable... NOT HERE..even the cook in the back looked happy plus It was so hot in there ,so I don't know how she kept a smile on her face but she did . Food was good .. pretty clean and service with a smile . So for all you cheap bastards out there Definitely a place to stop by if you want to share a slice. LOL read more

Might not be the best piece of pizza you will ever have in your life but for $5 for a slice and a beer, you really can't beat it. Friendly service and plenty of seating, this was the perfect spot for a pre-night out pick me up before heading out. Highly recommend stopping here as a start to your night. read more

it's pretty hard to find a pizza place with such a wide variety of slices- and more than two vegetarian slices. I got the shroom one w truffle oil and it was so good! Also affordable considering the quality of ingredients. Will def go back next time I'm in the area for the potato and onion slice :) read more

I've been here twice, once at like 2am after a Friday party at Lot 45 and a Sunday evening during the summer. The staff is extremely nice. And it is a nice a spot to grab a slice and eat with friends. When I decided to dine in they even gave me the nicest dish to eat my pizza on. Forget paper plates, nice dishes for pizza; i'm with that movement, lol. The only reason I didn't give it more stars is because on both occasions of coming the dough of thepizza seemed really hard, like it was left in the oven to warm up for too long. The crust was really hard and for the fact that it's one of my favorite parts of the pizza, it was upsetting having to throw it out. At first I thought it was because it was late, but the second time I went I was thinking maybe this is how they make their pizza. I would go back to try their sicilians. They are really big and look like they taste really good; granted it is $6 , but I would like to experience it. read more

We have ordered delivery from here about 5 times now. The number one thing I love about it is that they are very fast with delivery. Number two is that they have a great gluten free pizza option which I love, and my husband loves their regular pie. The sauce has a very good flavor and the price for a whole pie is great especially considering how huge they are! We love it. read more

Dang this is some good pizza. So happy they're here! Our other option for decent pizza in the neighborhood was Archie's but it's little bit of a walk. I've had the mushroom truffle ("the shroom" I think) slice a few times as well as the spinach tomato ricotta. Delicious. I've only had the soda once and it was black cherry. It was little cough-mediney, but not enough to deter me from trying a soda there again. All around a win, definitely them out. read more

Sauce and soda is the sister of the two other places next to it (bad bagel, hala coffee) it recently opened about a month ago 1/2019 and its very delicious pizza. The service is really great. They are friendly and attentive they've given me a soda sample two times I've been there. Actually the pizza and soda pop tradition with my kid started cuz of this place. 3 stars cuz I arrived at this location 4 TIMES and they have yet to get soda. The idea of a place that makes pizza and has in house pop makes my food D hard. Let's just say my food blue balls are hurting from the disappointment here. Sauce and thirsty. Still give it a try man obviously you'll check it out after I write this so maybe it's already there. Tried black cherry and it was good good. read more

I love pizza and I really love soda, so I have been popping in to Sauce and Soda whenever possible to try one of their original soda flavors. My first three visits, the soda machine was down. I went in shortly after they opened, and every two months or so after. Always down. I just got lucky enough to wander in while the soda machine was working- though they were out of Root Beer, which is what I wanted. I got a Black Cherry soda, which took 7-10 minutes to pour because- you guessed it- the machine broke mid-pour. Once I finally had my long anticipated soda in my hands, I took a sip and realized it tastes exactly- EXACTLY- like carbonated cough syrup. One more sip to make sure I wasn't trippin and in the trash it went. Months of anticipation for a 3 dollar cup of gross soda. Their pizza is fine but way overpriced and they put the slices on, like, styrofoam plates that squeak and don't even hold the pizza evenly. GROSS. read more

The pizza is OK - large slices and decent price for the neighborhood (though still expensive compared to what you can get 15 minutes away). But the guy working the counter at 1:45PM on Thursday July 2nd is rude and has ZERO customer service ability. I don't plan on going back in if I see him behind the counter. Maybe will try again if someone else is behind the counter - maybe - a business that puts such people in contact with customers doesn't really deserve business... read more

Ordered through Seamless and had to throw out our pizza. It came cold. Not luke warm but cold as if it was pulled out of the fridge and thrown in a box. Obviously we could have just thrown it in the oven but the dough and crust was rock hard already. I took a piece of the crust and tapped it on the table - it sounded like a hammer. I love my pizza crispy...even a little burnt...however this was too much. We are now deciding on a Plan B for dinner. read more

This is my favorite slice place in the neighborhood. The slices are always crispy and high quality. They are careful with the right balance of toppings and slice. They really craft a great slice. You get what you pay for here. I stop by for a slice at least once a week. My favorites thus far are the veggie, mushroom truffle, and potato caramelized onions. read more

Now back home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the great white north of snow that never ends, I finally tried the frozen Di Fara pepperoni pizza from Target no less. Sorry Joe's, but this is on par with your pizza (if it was frozen). Dave Portnoy was right with his high review. This pizza is very good. The thick cut pepperoni, great basil, and the crisp chewy crust was excellent for a frozen pizza. Nice under carriage as well. I cooked the pizza at 480 degrees in an electric pizza oven for 10 minutes, and the result was very good. I added a drizzle of hot honey, and it was spectacular (okay, I also added some fresh picked jalapeños as well). The pizza was hot and melted in the center, and the crust was very crisp, but still had some chew. Wow. This was the best frozen pizza I have had. Bar none. New York, you spoiled me when it came to pizza. Now I can get a taste of New York at home. Great job! I may or may not eat the last 3 pieces currently sitting in the fridge before bed.

The individuals I support are on limited incomes and cannot afford meals from establishments such as yours, so they bring their own lunches while staff members purchase food and beverages from your business. A manager approached us and informed us that outside food was not permitted, even though purchases had been made. We were then asked to leave and eat outside in the hot weather. I understand that businesses have policies regarding outside food, and I respect the need to enforce them. However, I believe this situation could have been handled with greater compassion and understanding, given that the group consisted of individuals with disabilities who rely on packed lunches due to financial limitations. As someone who has consistently supported your establishment, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility and empathy shown. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will no longer be bringing my business or the individuals I support to your establishment. I hope this feedback encourages your management team to consider a more accommodating approach when serving members of the disability community in the future.
