My coffee cup was kept full, and my breakfast of potato pancakes came quickly. Now, these were not your Bubbie's latkes: There was a lot of flour, egg, and onion salt in them. They were fried like pancakes, not deep fried like the Hanukkah treats. Still, they were served with both sour cream and apple sauce, so that savory-salty-sweet profile was reached.
