SC Cafe is as good as we remembered! During Covid they have outdoor seating with umbrellas. Quick seating (1 pm), great service and excellent food. We stuck with what we know (and loved) the chileaquiles, cheeseburger and vegetable mix and eggs. All great tasting, quick food service and just overall great stop. Try it!! read more

Shared funky chicken, Swiss and avocado sandwich. Seemed like overpriced, greasy spoon food with decent service. It definitely felt like a mom and pop shop so hate to give the three stars but it really was underwhelming. SC Cafe is a hidden gem! I was looking for a place to grab some brunch on a Sunday and this place had good reviews and it is deserving of those good reviews. It's in a real small cozy spot right off the freeway with seating inside and out. The staff were really welcoming and gave off a perfect homely diner vibe. The food was delicious! Their drip coffee was amazing. I had the Farmers Favorite Sandwich which is egg, cheese, and your choice of sausage, ham, or bacon with a side of potatoes. I went with the ham and I loved it. My brother had the Eric's Quesadilla and he loved that too. We spent a ton of time there even after we paid our check because it's just such a nice spot. This is my favorite So Cal breakfast spot by far! My favorite breakfast there is the Bea's omelette + fresh pico on the side (so yummy!) + squaw toast. You cannot go wrong here though! Everything is so fresh & delicious. It's your quintessential beach breakfast spot, nothing fancy, come as you are vibe. The staff is all so sweet and accommodating. Service is usually fast, but not rushed. Also, the prices are great for the portions you get. I always take the other 1/2 home for later! The only negative is that it's quite small, so you may have to wait a little while (no reservations, sign your name on a list when you arrive) if you come during prime time, but it's definitely worth the wait! read more

So glad I tried this place out this morning ! Such a small beautiful place ! It reminds me of cafe morning restaurants in the Caribbean (st Thomas to be specific) They just did a repaint with a baby blue color just re wrapped the booths I was told by the gentleman who was taking care of me . It has a amazing homemade , mom and pop feel ! Really makes you feel welcome and stay as long as you like. It is a small place so every table counts so I wouldn't stay to long . But great place for brunch , breakfast , lunch ! Great place to have lunch with somebody ! The parking lot is a little small but there is a lower parking lot that's a little bigger ! I have come twice as I've wrote this ( It seemed to good to be true) guess what !! It is true , on my second visit . Just as great of an experience . Walked in , they remembered me . It is self seating so I sat my self . Everybody is happy . Nice . And easy going ! On my first visit I had a BLT added an A . DELICIOUS! ! For a cafe / diner I always start with that on a menu . Bacon gotta be crunchy , bread gotta be toasted and crunchy . Lettuce gotta be fresh . Tommy's gotta taste like Tommy's and not wAter . It was perfect ! On my second visit I expanded my menu exploration , and got the quesadilla ! The menu is one page front and back . One side breakfast one side lunch ! It seems you can order both cause every menu is fitted for both ! Could be cost savings but with the easy going vibe it seems they would make it work either way ! Going back to the quesadilla tho ! Lol got off track ! That quesadilla is AMAZING !! I LOVED IT !! There was a point when eating it I had to tell myself to slow down . If I wasn't in public I would have shoved it into my mouth ! So good ! And the salsas oh man !! The pico is true pico , with good peppers in it ! But the star for me of the salsas was the light green one . There are 2 green salsas . The avocado one is PERFECT ! Spicy but not too spicy enough to start a subtle sweat but not enough for a full sweat droplet . I had to do a quick trial of the salsas before jumping into the quesadilla head first ! The steak was tender and easy to eat ! Tons of cheese and so lucious it needed to be eaten with fork and knife , handheld woulda spilt it all over ! All in all , great place ! The location right off the freeway this place should be wildly busy ! It seems like a locals spot . Tucked below the bushes . You wouldn't know it's here unless you knew it was here . I think that's part of the fun ! The building it's located in is a little old and there are some things that come with that. There were some flys cause the front door is wide open . They could use an eco lab fly thing . The ledges have some dust . The flooring is patched and mis matched . But thats all cosmetic minus the dust ... and it comes with an older building . The food and the people I think is what makes this place amazing ! The ambience of the chill beach vibe is loud and clear . I will be coming back . To be apart of the future !! Did door dash with this restaurant. Was super quick and fast which I appreciate from the restaurant a lot. Being gluten free glad they had some options even though I don't always follow through with it but their beaus omelette was really good. A little too much spinach for my liking but loved all the mushrooms and glad they were able to make it without avocado for me! The hash browns are soft and not crunchy and not really any flavor. Their bacon was really good and crispy and delicious! Oatmeal was also bland not really good even with the blueberries. Mint tea was really good and enjoyed that. Packaging they had the brown paper type boxes and by the time I received it food was seeping through and breaking apart. Overall would go back and give another chance. read more

This place is a bit hidden and no signage that I could see from the street, but thanks to my sister searching good ol Yelp, she found it. We were happily greeted by a very energetic woman and being that we were group of 6, they quickly moved 2 tables together on their patio to accommodate us. Joey was our server, he was very friendly and answered all our questions about their signature breakfast plates. His recommendations were ON POINT! Both the chilaquiles breakfast and the steak machaca breakfast were absolutely delicious and the flavors were scrumptious! My spinach, avocado, bacon and cheese scramble was good, but after a forkful of the other 2 dishes, I wanted theirs! Made it here after a walk along the beach last weekend... It was my second attempt to eat here. The parking is very challenging... there are four spots in front, and one handicapped spot. There is a lot down a little driveway but I dont think there are more than 10 spots down there total. If that many. Im not sure if there is street parking. This is a cute little along the beach restaurant, and you can tell its full of locals, which I love. I wont lie, I spent the first 10 minutes there focused on a table by the window with a dad and his daughter. She was probably about 6 or 7, and she was looking around bored, while her dad was completely consumed with his phone. I wanted to invite her to sit with us, I felt so sad for her. She finally started to color while he continued to play candy crush and surf the internet... pretty much anything but actually talking to his daughter. I just dont understand it. Anyway. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla... and a side of jalapenos. I actually got a full jalapeno pepper and Im not going to lie, it kicked my ass. It was too hot for me to eat. Haha. The quesadilla was delicious and it was filling. I ordered some coffee, and got an "I (heart) My Uncle" mug that I had to take a picture of and send to my uncle. The service was awesome. Very attentive and very friendly. Our waiter and his man bun were very easy on the eyes. Just saying. I will definitely come back for breakfast, parking allowing. read more

Was staying in San Clemente for a few days and was within walking distance of this place. What a great breakfast/brunch/staff and vibe. Seriously the NICEST staff. Morning 2 I had the chilaquiles with no chicken added eggs. Lovely and perfectly cooked. Morning 2 I got my favorite breakfast which I describe as "piles of things" - so here it was their spuds + a sausage patty (when I ordered it the server goes "oh yah we have a BOMB sausage patty) and 2 eggs over medium. It was delicious. A great place for a lazy morning, stuff coffee and to start your day. read more

The location isn't the draw. It's the friendly staff and great food. I was alone, so I can only comment on my dish. It was delicious. Mexi Huevos Rancheros. On my recent visit to SC Cafe, I had a craving for Chilaquiles so I ordered it again. In my opinion, they have really good chilaquiles. The portions are generous, the chicken is moist and the chili verde sauce goes well with the dish. On today's visit, I noticed the side of beans were more tasty than I remembered it to be. Clean, fast, efficient, good portions, fresh, hot & pleasant.The ambience and atmosphere is very relaxing and you feel very welcomed. You must try if you're in the area. Drive slow and careful or you will overshoot the driveway and end up in the donut place next to it. Parking is a driveway that connects to a back lower parking area. It got crowded at around 9 am. Very authentic breakfast offerings. I ordered the French toast and egg combo and it was delicious. It came with plenty of French toast, plus I ordered a side of hash brown, so I'm pretty stuffed.
