A fantastic dining experience. The staff was attentive an knowledgeable. The view was wonderful and included the Vegas skyline, plenty of greenery and the periodic excitement of the Bellagio fountain show. The food was memorable from the bread basket to dessert and everything in between. The spaghetti is as good as you've heard and the creme brulee napoleon was stunning. More accessible and less intimidating menu than some of the other top tier restaurants in Las Vegas, but the food and service is every bit as good. My husband and I just went to Scarpetta the other night. The food, overall, was delicious. The service was ok. The bread didn't come out until the appetizers which is a huge pet peeve, but whatever. The big problem was the portion size. My tiny little turbot cost $38. My husband's chicken was half a breast at best. $250 later, we ended up going to Secret Pizza at the Cosmo for a slice after our dinner at Scarpetta. This restaurant was fantastic. I made a reservation to Scarpetta for my boyfriend's birthday. I requested a table by the window and a surprise birthday dessert. They did not disappoint. I had the best table in the restaurant and they brought out our dessert with a candle and a message. My boyfriend was surprised and absolutely loved the place. The food was delicious!!! Waiter was unfriendly and not welcoming. Waited overlong for him to come to table. He came too take and only said, "do you have any questions". We said , "lots, what do you recommend?" He flipped open a menu, pointed at each section and said something like top 3, top 2' etc as he pointed at each section. No other comments, such as why they are recommended, etc.....then said, "any other questions". We said ,"guess not". And he walked away.....no drink order request, nothing.....waited about 10 minutes and got up and left. At least 4 employees watched us leave and never acknowledged us. Will never return. Very happy we came here. Nice seat facing Bellagio fountains. Started with the crispy fritto like - a fried julienned mix of zucchini and squid. For those opposed to squid or seafood this may be a nice introduction. Hubby ordered the veal chop. It was stellar- the grill flavor, tender all the way through and that can be iffy with veal. I had the spaghetti- what a simple dish, right? But the fresh ingredients with the perfect al dente of the pasta, highly recommended. Finished with , embarrassing forgot the name ! I would say nutella filled donuts. Given our seat I understand and appreciate the low light in that the Bellagio fountains are the star here. My wife and went there on Sunday August 12 and all I can say was "amazing" You can not find a better bread basket anywhere and the food was very, very good also. My wife had the spaghetti and I had the short ribs which by the way is a pasta filled with short ribs. The service was excellent and the food was once again very,very good. Really a 1 1/2 but I'm gonna be generous here. First of all, the service STINKS. Arrogance abounds and they are S L O W... We ordered a bottle of wine - it took 15 minutes to get and then it was bad, as in spoiled. Another 15 minutes passed before the 2nd bottle arrived. The food was very good, as it should be - it's a celebrity chef restaurant and he stakes his reputation on it. My fiance and I went here on his birthday weekend and I'm so glad we did. I am an extremely picky eater, plus I'm pregnant so I have a very sensitive stomach nowadays. But I tried different things on the menu and was not disappointed. Even things that I wouldn't normally eat were so good! The restaurant had a very elegant vibe and our server was fantastic. Best. Pastas. Ever. We showed up at around 5:30p for an early dinner with our son, who just turned 21 (in Vegas!) and were happy to find out they had a social hour until 7:00. Do not miss on that menu - short rib bone marrow agnolotti and the duck and foie ravioli - literally "last meal" worthy. Also, the pork belly was amazing. The $7.00/glass Sangiovese was surprisingly great (we ususally don't opt for happy hour wines). We also ordered The Spaghetti with added meatballs from the regular dinner menu. It was the best spaghetti we have ever had. Dessert was the incredible mascarpone cheesecake with a perfect double espresso. We luxuriated in one of the curved booths close to the entrance which was private but let you observe the comings and goings of the restaurant. The decor, music, ambiance, etc. is first rate. Yelp Fail. This was my girlfriend's first time in Las Vegas, so I wanted to bring her to an upscale place and have her try some food from supposedly exclusive restaurants in vegas. Based on the yelp reviews, and time availability, I chose Scarpetta. It was a major disappointment, and I felt so bad bringing her to this establishment. This was the first restaurant experience she had in Vegas and it was horrendous. Let me say that this review is based on three dishes that we had at Scarpetta. 1. Duck and Foie Gras Ravioli (main course) 2. Short Rib Agnolotti (main course) 3. Roasted Diver Scallops (appetizer) Ambiance: The seating and view were great. We were the table almost next to the window where the Belagio water show was going on. There was a great view of the show. The lighting was also dim. It is definitely a nice place to bring a date. Price: Despite the $$$, the prices are not too outrageous for Las Vegas. The main course dishes were 25 and 26 dollars while the roasted scallops were 23 dollars. Service: Service was horrible. We were there for over an hour. Our waiter checked up on us twice, once to bring more water and the second time to see if our food was ready. We waited for about 15-20 minutes to get our scallop appetizer. No apologies or more complementary bread. The wait for the food seemed the norm, as the tables next to us finished their food and were just making small talk while waiting for over 20 minutes. After we finished our scallops, we proceeded to wait another almost 30 minutes for our main course. Again, no apologies or further check ups. I ran out of water while waiting for our main course, during the appetizer, and did not get a refill until I had to ask for one (after the main course came). When we wanted to tell the waiter about the problems with our main courses, he and other waiters could not be found for about 20 minutes. We just sat there looking at each other and our plates (almost untouched). Simply horrible. Food: Scallops - these were actually very good. They were simple scallops that were fresh and cooked well. I would definitely get this again. Duck and Foie Gras Ravioli - came out cold, tough, and very very very salty. We have had foie gras before, and this was well beyond what it was supposed to taste like. It left a bitter and salty taste in the mouth that could only be drowned out by eating the complimentary bread with their house tomato sauce. My girlfriend did not want to waste food so she tried to put the ravioli in her mouth followed by water as a chaser. She soon became sick and had to go to the bathroom. She only finished about 1/3 of the plate before I told her to stop. Short Rib Agnolotti - gross. The noodles were tough and cold. The sauce made the bread crumbs stick to the noodles and caused the noodles to stick together like one giant pasta. I had trouble eating one bite of it. After finally taking a bit, the food was bland and left an unpleasant aftertaste. It was one of the worst dishes I have had in a long time. I am usually not too picky with pasta, but this Agnolotti was inedible. The noodles were rubbery hard and the sauce was cold and crusted onto the noodles. The appearance did not help. The food looked like someone threw up on the plate. The sauce was black or very dark brown (could not tell because of the dim lighting), but the appearance made the food even less appetizing. Conclusion of the meal: After about 20 minutes of the food being on the plate, almost completely untouched, the waiter came by to ask "how was everything tasting." I told the waiter that the food was inedible and that it was probably the worst thing I've had in recent memory. The waiter's face was priceless. He did not seem shocked at all, rather, he just appeared to be apologetic. The waiter took the food off our table and asked if we wanted anything else. At this point, the restaurant was about to close and we did not want to wait another 30 minutes to get some inedible food. I told him to just give me the check so we can get out of there. They took the two dishes off our bill and our almost 2 hour meal came out to a whopping $23 (for the scallops). What a waste of time and appetite. This trend of inedible food was not isolated to only our table table. While waiting for our food, the table behind us asked for the check and had two dishes that were inedible and left untouched as well. I did hear that the fish was decent from the table behind us, but that was the extent of praise Scarpetta's food received. Overall: I felt the need to write a long rant about this place. This dinner was supposed to be a happy and memorable event for my girlfriend because it was her very first dinner in vegas. Instead, it was only memorable because of how bad the restaurant service and food were. Considering there are a ton of great great places in vegas, I would highly advise anyone to pass on Scarpetta. read more

Had the signature spaghetti and meatballs. This was an OK meal... meatballs were small and tasteless- a bit hard as if they had been cooked hours earlier. Sauce was nothing special. Nice homemade noodles. Not worth $ 32. Mixed greens salad with beets was a basic salad. Decent flavor but, again, not worth $ 16. All in, for spaghetti and meatballs, mixed green salad and glass of house wine, our bill for 2 people was $ 170. I live in LA so I'm used to paying a lot to eat out, but this meal wasn't worth it. We came in for dinner last night and it RUINED the rest our evening. The hostess was nice enough to seat us at a table with a view of the Bellagio fountains. The server Garvin approached the table and went over the menu. It went down hill from there. He was rude and was very arrogant. He made us feel as if we weren't good enough to sit in his station. I'm not sure if I want to give 2 stars or 3. It might not be fair as this place isn't equal to some of my 2 star reviews (it's probably better than most), but for the high price-tag....I think it's justified. The best part of my experience was my $20-a-glass wine. The $$ amount is to be expected in any nice place in Vegas, and I was happy that the wine was at least very good for the price (as they aren't always). Service was so slow, it took almost twenty minutes between being greeted and for the waiter to come back for drinks, and then the same wait from drinks to food and food to the check. We were on a tight schedule being on a work trip, so this was a little inconvenient. It wasn't even busy yet, either. For my food I split the Tagliatelle which I felt lacked in truffle flavor and their signature spaghetti dish which I felt lacked in overall flavor and should not be their signature dish. In general the food was not bad in any way, I just thought it was very expensive for what it was and for the lack of great service. Generally not a bad experience and I might be willing to give it another shot when back in town. read more

Really nice place for dinner. I was sad about not having the opportunity to dine at Scarpetta in LA before it closed so I decided to try out the one in Vegas. We were with a group of 8. Most of us got pasta and two people got steak. Everyone loved their food. I got the spaghetti and loved it. My friends got the Pici and loved that as well. I also liked the assortment of bread. The restaurant has a really nice vibe and offers pretty nice views. Four stars instead of five for the following reasons: 1) two of their drinks were not good at all and we had asked the waiter ahead of time if they were sweet, were reassured that they weren't 2) even though we sent one of the drinks back because it was just so gross we didn't get an apology, an offer to replace, or a comp. I expect better attention to detail when we're spending almost $700 on dinner. Other than that, everything was great. A nice addition to the great restaurants at Cosmopolitan. read more

Is it bad if you go to a restaurant in Vegas that you've been to elsewhere? I don't care. My sister and I went here for an incredible dinner. The service was fantastic. We were seated next to the window so we got to watch the fountains the entire night (contrary to what you might expect I did not get bored watching them over and over again). We started with the polenta w/mushrooms because I love it, the yellowtail, which was delicious and super fresh, and the scallops which were awesome. My sister had the infamous spaghetti which she loved (and I did too). My dish was out of control - it is called the black macaroni and if I could eat it all the time I would. It is squid ink pasta (not macaroni) with lobster and BASIL BREAD CRUMBS. I cannot describe how perfect this dish is - or how obsessed I now am with basil bread crumbs. Truly amazing. We got the zeppole for dessert. *Love* - truly excellent and wonderful - I wasn't expecting this level of awesome. I need to go to the one in nyc now so I can have the trifecta. read more

Authentic Italian food and house made pasta--the only way to enjoy Italian food. Scarpetta was a lovely experience. The duck foie gras ravioli was great but the stand out was definitely the spaghetti--cooked to perfection. The orata (branzino) was nicely done, too. While I'd pass on the chocolate cake which tasted a bit generic, my favorite of the night was the pana cotta--delicious! The service was decent--slightly snobby but it comes with the territory. Let me first say that I went to Scarpetta just to try their dessert. My friend and I had eaten dinner at a nearby restaurant in Cosmopolitan and wanted to try another place for dessert. We first checked out the menu posted right outside the door of the restaurant and figured that the desserts sounded tasty so we should give it a shot. When we first went in, they asked for our reservation. We did not have any, so we elected to sit in one of the booths near the bar. For dessert, I ordered the Peach Crostata since I really like peaches. The dessert was described as moscato peaches, almonds, cinnamon and cardemom gelato. It came in a clear glass. I was expecting the dessert to be very sweet and savory, but it wasn't really any of those. It wasn't anything extraordinary. It just tasted like a regular dessert. I understand that most customers do not come here just for dessert, but I figured with the great reviews and pricing that it would be something worth trying. I guess I was wrong. Maybe their food is better than their desserts, but there wasn't anything special on this end. read more

Came here after our vow renewal. We had a great view of the fountains, our server was very nice and had no problem getting a new salad for my friend who did not like the one she originally ordered. Drinks were about average priced for any nice place in vegas, avg. $16 each. My friend got a cosmo and she said it was perfect. They had a good bourbon selection for my picky husband. I got the branzino and it was very good. My husband got the waygu cap steak that was on special and loved it! Still talking about it. I think it was about $65, it filled him up. We did not get salad (extra, not inculded). My friend got a caesar and it was beautiful! Loved the presentation. They both get the filet and they said it was perfect. Tip, 2 entrees and I think 2 drinks was $156. Not the most we have spent on a meal. FYI for weddings, they charge between $6- $13 per person to bring in your own cake. read more

Where to start? Wow. I really enjoyed this restaurant. The ambience, the service, and the food were truly impeccable. Now, you may think I'm neurotic about lighting but I don't care - it adds a lot to a dining experience. This lighting was just right. Goldilocks would have given a stamp of approval. Likewise for the portion size, which I thought may be too small like most pricey restaurants but it was just enough. The food was amazing. My fiancé had the veal. Mouthwatering. I had the bone marrow and short rib pasta. Tasty. And with my Pinot - extra tasty. Now I'm not a sweet person (you can read that many ways), but the Nutella dessert was worth every last cent! Perfection. Service - impeccable. Well informed, classy, but not intrusive. And he had interesting hair. He also suggested an espresso martini, which was palate-ably scrumptious. This place has ruined me. I'm never going to be able to eat dried pasta again, only the fresh stuff for this girl. But seriously, they MUST have Italian grandmas cranking out homemade pasta by the pound. Easily the best Italian food I've had. Definitely an upscale place. I've had several food items (spaghetti, foie gras and duck ravioli, ribeye, multiple glasses of wine, raw yellowtail, pici, short ribs, and the dessert doughnuts) and every single thing is delicious. Service is perfect, I was never in want of anything. Servers are knowledgeable and passionate about what they're serving. Also wonderful wine recommendations. Something that I din't expect is getting the best steak I've had in this city here. Their ribeye is without a doubt the finest piece of red meat I've had in my life. Everyone in the restaurant was so attentive and helpful and our server Roberto went above and beyond. All of our dishes were amazing and the perfect portion. Was looking for a nice restaurant to eat at that was near to Vdara, good but not super pricey. This place fit the bill nicely. We had a 9:30pm reservation and was seated on time. The place was about 50% full. The service at the start was incredible but tapered off towards the end of the evening when they swapped out waiters on us. Wait staff however all very knowledgeable about the wine and the food. I started with Octopus which was delicious followed by the lobster pici. The pici was very nice indeed, tasty and pretty rich. The pasta itself was very dense and cooked al dente which took a little more effort to eat than perhaps it should have. It was a good size portion. I had a cheesecake for desert but at that point was too full to really appreciate it's intricate flavors. My wife started with the lobster salad which was also excellent followed by the Branzino, again delicious. Modern décor with a chilled yet sophisticated ambience. I wore a jacket but pretty sure you could dine here in a t-shirt if you wanted to. We dropped just over $300 for the evening including a modestly priced bottle of white wine. If this wasn't Vegas I would say it was not worth that kind of outlay. Seemed a little overpriced. But who knows. read more

Great food, Scarpetta manages to offer a level of refinement above its peers in every dish starting from the bread. I just had oxtail agnolotti from Faith & Flower in LA, Scarpetta's short rib agnolotti blows it out of the water. This place was recommended by a friend so we went with another couple that was with us in Vegas. We had so many dishes I can't even remember it all (or all the fancy names) but it was amazing! I had the pasta with clams & my husband had their spaghetti. Both excellent! I am SUPER picky about my pasta being over cooked but this place was on POINT! I had the raw tuna appetizer which was just heavenly! We also had the polenta with mushrooms which was delicious!!! I don't even like mushrooms but this was soooo good! Desserts were the highlight of this dinner! My good friend is a BIG DESSERTS girl so when our table was covered in desserts she about died. We had 5 different desserts the 4 of us shared and every single one was thoroughly enjoyed! Yum! My husband and my friend said the cheesecake and the souffle were by far the best they ever had! It is a clean trendy restaurant with good food, but it is a little pricey and I expected a little more after reading all of the reviews. I would recommend going in with lower expectations and you will be happy. Food The food was very good, but it was not the best pasta I have eaten. That honor goes to Babbo in New York. I would give Scarpetta an 8/10. It was rather pricey so not a good bang for the buck restaurant. Dinner for 2 was $150 with 1 glass of wine each. So it was good, but not great. Duck & Foie Gras Ravioli. This was the best dish of the night. There were about 10 small raviolis and they were cooked just right. They were tender and full of flavor. 9/10 Tomato & Basil Spaghetti. It is a simple dish and the pasta is cooked al dente. I would have preferred a little more tomato or basil flavors with the spaghetti, but it was good. It looked small at first, but there was a good amount of pasta with the dish. 8/10. Colorado Lamb Loin. The lamb was cooked medium rare and it was tender. It was less gamey than other lambs and I think I wanted more flavor from the lamb itself. 6/10. I expected more for $40. I had both the Rosso and the Rubrato red wines. Both were excellent and they had a very through wine list. 9/10 Ambiance It is quite a scene in the Comsopolitan. There were a lot of women hitting the club on the level above the restaurant. The restaurant itself had a view overlooking the strip. Unfortunately, not all of the tables have that view and our table did not. I would recommend making sure you get a table with a view. You should for the price. The restaurant looked clean and modern, similar to the hotel itself. The chairs and tables were a little strange. The chairs were hard to move and the table seemed to slide when you pushed away from it in your chair. 10/10 Service The waiter was attentive and kept checking on us throughout dinner. Unfortunately, Roberto, our server, was not very attentive to us once the food came. Had to flag down a bus boy to get our check. Decided not to give him any more business. Went across the street to Mon Ami Gabi for my favorite Bananas Foster. Ordered but never received my cappuccino. Guess it wasn't our night for good service.
