I didn't know about this place until one of my friends suggested we check it out for lunch, but wow was I impressed. I just got a regular cheeseburger but it was very flavorful and super delicious. We also ordered a side of fries since they were out of the onion rings when we went but the regular fries were just average I don't think I would get them again unless I was really craving fries. I would say the burger I had was way better than burgers I've had from smashburger and or shake shack. Would come back to try the other burgers and hopefully the onion rings too! read more

Pretty good burgers! Came here for $2 Tuesdays and had a great meal for less then $7 bucks including a burger, sweet potato fries and PBR. My kind of joint. The line was long but moved surprisingly quickly. Everyone got a number and the wait for your food was about 10-15 mins. In light of the huge crowd I thought that wasnt to bad. Everything was pretty orderly and there were a few employees not on the grill covering most of the restuarant. They were super polite and they kept everything clean and ready for the customers coming in. The burger was pretty good and the sweet potato fries were great. So, does the world NEED a place like this? No. But it was so good that we didn't mind the calories that were attached to it. The green chiles cheeseburger was terrific with the right amount of sauce and gooey cheese (not to mention, light peppers) to make it only disappointing when you finished it. The first time I ever went to Schnipper's, my manager was craving a burger which was why we decided to go. I had also just moved into the city and figured it'd be a good idea to try and find my In-n-Out alternative. Unfortunately, the day we went, they were OUT OF BURGERS! How is a burger place out of burgers? Or maybe we just assume they're a burger place because people typically go there for their burgers. I ended up with a fish sandwich which was really dry and overpriced for what it was. I would have rather gone to McDonald's to get the Filet-o-Fish. I also got onion rings, but they weren't as amazing as I was expecting. The second time I went back, they finally did have burgers. I just got a regular burger, not wanting to spend an arm and a leg for the special burgers, but I was surprised that they didn't put anything on my burger except cheese and a patty. Apparently, you have to ask for the tomatoes and lettuce and such? Definitely thought that was a given because I've never had to explicitly ask for these things. The third time I decided to go ( by this point, I've really gone to many times for something that I haven't really loved all that much ), my sister and I opted for cheese fries and a milkshake for dinner. Pretty good but again overpriced for what it is. She didn't feel too good after the milkshake, but I was fine, so that was a bit weird. The food here is good. My favorite is the Mac and Joe. Its really taste. This combination has inspired me to make it at home. But I can't get my Joe as flavorful as theirs. Had the chicken fingers and fries plus a cookies and cream milkshake and all I can say is delicious! Portion size was very big. You will not be disappointed. The chicken was seasoned up nicely and fries were fried just right. The milkshake was extra thick and tasty. Prices are not bad at all either. Decent is the best word to describe this place. They are close to my office, which is good. The line is out the door during lunchtime, which is not so good when you need to get back to work but good because you know the food is high quality. The line to order and pay moves quick. It's hard to hear the staff over the noise (it's SO loud here) but they always seem to get the order correct. The wait for your food seems like forever. Stand around with a beeper in your hand (even though they still shout the order number), wait and wait, finally get your food. I had the Greek salad. It was okay, not the best but definitely not the worst. It was filling and they got my order correct (I asked for no red onions) but it's mediocre restaurant food...For lunch. They seem like more of a fast food, grab and go, type place to me. I could never imagine staying here and eating my lunch within the restaurant itself. My sister and I stayed right around the corner at Fifty NYC and decided to give this place a try. We got cheeseburgers and fries as well as a strawberry shake. The food and shake were amazing! This Schnippers is centrally located in a part of town that doesn't have many sit-down fast food options. It's clean and the space (double height ceiling and upstairs seating) is pleasant and quiet enough for conversation. Although the menu is pretty extensive and the choices sound good, the food is only so-so, and the portions are small. Ten bucks gets you a burger, but they don't give you a choice of how well it's done. Food quality is maybe two notches above McDonalds, but definitely below Chipotle. Ten bucks also gets you a pair of fish tacos, which are OK but can never be described as great. Overall the menu was designed for easy preparation by a crew that doesn't need a lot of training, so "Quality Kitchen" is pure marketing. I understand that the high rent drives certain business decisions. Judging by the number of suits that lunch here, their formula is working relatively well. read more

Visited this location on a late Friday afternoon with a friend and didn't expect it to be so empty, especially for a Midtown location! My friend and I opted for fish tacos and the Schnipper's classic burger. Fish tacos were surprisingly good for a burger joint. Crispy fish and really flavorful pico de gallo + other veggies. The burger wasn't as memorable, but definitely not the worst burger I've had. The set of two tacos was $9.99, one was already $5.50, might as well have got two of them! Meanwhile, the burger was $9.50. I used the LevelUp app to get $2 credit off my order, unfortunately Schnipper's Quality Kitchen doesn't have a rewards program like other businesses that use LevelUp. Went in around 2:30pm on a Friday to order cheese fries and the cashier basically said they weren't worth the wait or trouble for her to put in as an order. This is a great lunch spot if you work nearby, The line can get long around lunch time so be prepared, but it is worth it! The dining are is large but fills up at lunch due to the large crowds. If you sit down to eat, it could take them a while to find your table so be on the lookout. You may think you need a burger and fries, but you probably do not need both. You SHOULD, however, get both. Their sweet potato fries are great with the maple dipping sauce they provide. Their salads are also surprisingly good, but expensive.
