I stopped by here to get lunch with my brother and my uncle. I used to work in the area and honestly never gave it a shot. The food was really yummy and The service was fast even during peak lunch hours. I like their interior design and especially their operations management because they basically give you a beeper and will walk over to your table when your food is ready to be served. When we told the employees she got very offensive and got the biggest attitude. She started arguing and we calmly told her to just change the cheese burger with mac and cheese. This is right near my husband's workplace so we have gone here a few times so far. Each time has been absolutely delicious. Hubby raved about the mac and cheese and said it was one of the best he's had...I will definitely be trying that next time. Ehhh I've had better and doubt I will be returning. Place was packed but managed to make way through the line (although I felt very overwhelmed by the menu), found something enticing enough to try (I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich on a whole wheat ciabatta bread), and found a place to sit. My food was okay, the bbq sauce was overwhelming the flavor of the entire sandwich and I had to douse it in hot sauce to get another type of flavor there. The crispy chicken was delicious and I regret that I didn't just get chicken and fries. It just wasn't memorable enough for me to come back. I have no complaints about the service, but it was a different story for my coworker. She ordered a grilled cheese sandwich here, and they carelessly forgot about her entire order and took it off the queue to be sent out... now that is just poor service on their part. CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS - Ordered delivery via Seamless today for myself and a few co-workers. The delivery arrived 1.5 hours later. We called the restaurant to inform them they forgot our 12 chicken fingers and the female employee who answered the phone argued that she packed the order herself and she put them in the bag. We advised her she was incorrect since there were no chicken fingers to be found. She continued to argue that they were in the bag and hung up on my coworker. When we called back, the phone rang for at least a minute. I assume the employee was dodging the phone call. She finally answered and acknowledged that the chicken she allegedly packed herself didn't make it into the bag. In addition, we received a chicken sandwich we didn't order and a chicken club instead of a fish sandwich. I'm not sure why it was so difficult for the Schnipper's employee to get the order correct and then proceed to argue with a customer but my guess is she's just an idiot. To the manager- invest in employees who can read and have customer service skills. It will save you money in the end. read more

Wow. What can I say about this place... This is comfort food to the max. Everything I've tried so far is great. The burgers are awesome. The chicken fingers are great my favorite meal so far, but u must try it with sweet potato fries. The maple syrup they give with them is almost addictive. When I first discovered this goldmine I had lunch there four days straight. I would have went for the fifth day but my colleagues where giving me the crazy where do u put it all face. Pretty damn good burgers. We went for $2 Tuesday and luckily I beat the lines. It was still orderly despite the crowds though. My condiments even came in a cute baggie! I wish I would have ordered the salad too. I know that they were busy but i cannot give them a 5 because my burger was overly greasy yet under cooked despite me asking for well-done. Okay, I will start by saying that the prices are rather high here. That goes without saying. In terms of the food, Schnippers does produce a good product. I really like their salads (the spicy chipotle is a great dressing). The burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches are good. The quality is there, but for the price paid and quantity not so much. In Midtown Manhattan, it may be the best option for Burgers, but in other locations there are better options. I was happy when I first saw Schnippers would be coming to Midtown East. I had always heard about the original one, but never managed to make it over to try. This place contains your standard "American" options that you would expect: burgers, sandwiches, salads, shakes and the list goes on. I ordered the Southwest Chicken and an order of fries for about $13. Nobody is going to call this place cheap, but I think the prices are justifiable by the food quality and large seating areas they offer. The chicken sandwich was quite good, plenty of jalapeños and cheese along with a large piece of chicken. At first the sandwich seemed a little small, but it was filling for its size. The fries I did not enjoy as much, for $3.50 they seem like the kind you can just buy frozen at the grocery store for a dollar. They are thin, didn't have a great texture and no real presence of seasoning on them. I couldn't even add my own pepper, because I ordered for takeout and I was only offered some ketchup packets when I received my food. I will certainly be back to this place, but the prices are a little too high for an everyday visit. Schnipper's has a great midtown delivery burger. They arrive hot, not falling apart, and with fairly high quality meat. Their fries are just kind of meh, but the burgers make up for them. All I've ever gotten here is burgers and fries. One day, maybe I'll try something else. Oh, I love the Schnipper sauce. The Big Schnipp burger is amazing, but really, really big. Just like Jordan W., I came to this location (the first time) a year ago on opening day, to have lunch on their $2 food promotion. I've come back regularly since! I like that Schnipper's is so spacious. It's a great place for lunch and for small groups (2-5) because of the booths and upstairs seating area. The menu looks long with a quoted "79 options" - but you really just need to decide if you want a burger, a hot dog, a chicken sandwich, or a salad. My two favorites across the menu are the Mac & Joe (half mac and cheese, half sloppy joe - I would take a bath in that!), and the Fresh Market salad - a little of of everything, especially beets and avocados. The cheese burgers at this place are decent. I've been to the 23rd st. location as well and on both occasions it was during a promo. This time around it was a $2 special menu where a bunch of stuff was just 2 bucks. I guess at those prices I didn't care about the taste too much. I tried their cheese burger, chicken club and mac n joe. The food is by no means memorable but it does the job. The chicken club had a bit too much mayo for me but not bad overall. The only thing I didn't like was the mac n joe. The mac part of it was fine but the joe was way too sweet. I like the fact that they sell wine here. We planted ourselves at a table for two hours and ate and drank like we were at a picnic. Schnipper's does distinguish itself from every other burger joint in that way. So I've been there twice this week and I am normally a boring healthy eater. Must be good right, yes indeed. The food is delicious almost dangerous to have it so near by. The burger with the pink sauce whatever it is give it to me all the time. The Mac and cheese is really good. The service is what takes it over the top. It has a nice combo diner/fast food joint feel and it won't hurt your pockets very much. You find a seat (upstairs is nice) and they bring your food to you and take your tray when you're done. This place is the size of a small nightclub, it overwhelmed me a little. And the concept of a sloppy joe to-go is fashionably dangerous so you should probably sit down and eat it. I ordered a burger and it was just below the typical Shake Shack/Five Guys quality. I'd put it on the same level as Goodburger if you've been there. The strawberry shake doesn't have strawberry in it, just syrup. There's several bathrooms in the back but you need the code to get in. The burger itself doesn't taste too bad. I can't say much for the buns, but the beef wasn't shabby at all for its price. The Classics wasn't that much different than Old Fashioned. It just had some sprinkle of greens, and definitely not 2.50 extra worthy of vegetables nor flavor. I'd stick to Old Fashioned. As for the sides, they're much bigger portioned than the burger itself, and I regretted getting a side during both visits. The burgers filled me up on their own, and sides were rather bland and just big in portion.
