Stopped there for lunch yesterday around noon. Won't be back. When they said they were out of Sloppy Joe, I tried the bacon cheese burger instead. Although the store was nearly empty, it took almost 20 minutes to be ready. Burger was almost too SALTY to eat. I had asked for the burger medium. It arrived closer to what I would have thought was medium well, but that's probably a matter of opinion. I still would have given the place more stars, except that the burger was so salty that I struggled to eat it. At one point, I took off the bacon, thinking that perhaps that was the source of the salt, but that wasn't it. The bun tasted fine and American cheese is American cheese, so by process of elimination, they must have salted the meat too much. Came here with my family after visiting the city. We wanted something quick and a sit down and my brother had recommended this place. We got in and the place was not busy and we went ahead and ordered all of our food. It came out in great time. I went to Schnippers with co workers and had an amazing experience. The gentleman who took our order was so friendly, pleasant and patient. Our receipt said "Anitra Santia" was the name. If that's him he was great! We had a large group and they got our order perfect. The young man who rung us up helped pack up our food on the way out and was so efficient and friendly about it. So incredibly disappointing. I chose this place and thought it was going to be great. What an incredible miss. It's simple fare, in a nice restaurant, but poor staff and ethics. First, I ordered a cheeseburger-medium. I was asked how I wanted it cooked, which was pointless. They cook it how they want. Mine was burnt and well done. Not a little burnt, 1/4 of the way through the thickness of the burger burnt. I returned it. Only to be given a new burger that was less charred on the outside, but still charred, and pink on the inside, soooo I guess that'll pass for medium?? Here's how you can remedy this problem. Turn the fire on the burner down. You're not saving time by cranking it up. You're just costing yourself more money because you have to remake burgers and driving away customers. What a shame to good quality of meat! Fries. How do you mess up fries? Cut up a potato and fry them! They were cooked fine, they just weren't tasty. The shakes. I'm not sure what ice cream they used. I ordered a chocolate. It was such dark chocolate, that I, a chocolate lover, left most of it because it was too dark. Other turn offs, a staff member had their child there waiting as they worked. The child was well behaved and talked to any customer near her. It's just tacky and poses the question, why on a Thursday is the child not in school. If the child is sick, they really need to be home resting and not exposing others. Last and most ridiculous to me....this nice looking establishment required a bathroom code that is on your receipt in order for you to use their restroom. I have never seen this. I was in the Midtown area and craving something simple to eat, and the massive menu above and behind the counter drew me in. A nice woman named Janelly took my order, and throughout, she was very helpful and friendly as I deliberated what I wanted to get. I decided chicken and fries with honey mustard sauce would be the most ideal. I ordered my food to-go, and a few minutes later, it was ready for pickup. I took it back and opened the box, and the portion size is a solid value for the price. DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY! This was my first experience with this company. I placed my order on Seamless at 11:47a. At 12:40p, nearly an hour later, I called to see if my order was on its way. The phone rang and rang and rang--- and no one answered. Called again at 12:50. This time a very courteous employee answered the phone, apologized for the delay, and said my order was "on its way" At 1:10p my food was delivered. It is ice cold. I don't know about you, but French fries are inedible cold, and the chicken fingers will be gross and soggy after the microwave. After throwing my food in the trash I noticed the receipt has my order time, 11:47a, and then underneath: " **ADVANCED ORDER DELIVERY AT 12:20**" Does that mean it was supposed to be delivered at 12:20 or that it didn't get prepared until 12:20?? Not sure why this schnippers tastes COMPLETELY different than the one in Times Square. My office is in Times Square so I went there at least once a week and loved it. Super shoddy service for a mediocre burger and fries. Stopped in after arriving from Los Angeles and didn't feel like having a $30 burger at the hotel. Walk around the corner and see this place. I should have kept on walking... They have a extensive menu of burgers, sandwiches, salads and chicken tenders. I opt for the basic burger, figuring that should be what they're good at. After noticing that the guy who ordered just ahead of me was 5 minutes into his meal, I decided to walk up to the pick up area to see what's up. I guess I'd mistakenly asked for a side order of chaos because the 4 guys behind the counter and the one guy in front couldn't seem to figure out how to assemble a simple order of a burger and fries. They hand me a bag and then immediately ask for it back, ask me again what I'd ordered, look around some more, then ask for my receipt. I wait a few more minutes (at which point people who weren't even in the restaurant when I decided to check on my order had already received theirs and left). I ask for my money back, which was met with a simultaneous chorus of, "nonononono" and "it's almost ready". I ignore them and go back to the register for my money back when my order miraculously appears. I take said order, walk back to my hotel room only to discover the worst looking burger with a splinter of wood adorning the bun. Throw way the top of the bun and take a bite of the most over cooked burger I've had since grade school cafeteria. Schnipper's works for a quick fix when I'm craving a burger and fries without the lengthy dining experience since it isn't a full service restaurant. The menu has decent burger selections and is a step up from fast food. They have a good variety of options including burgers, chicken sandwiches, fish sandwiches, hot dogs, salads, sides, and shakes. The sweet potato fries are decent and the regular fries are just alright. I had the Classic burger which I had no complaints about. This location is large inside with plenty of seating on the main and upper levels. Service is fine, some workers are more accommodating than others. read more

You wouldn't think it, but this place has excellent salads. My office ordered dinner from here one night when we were working late, and I ordered the Greek salad on a whim. I was definitely pleasantly surprised. Generous toppings--plenty of feta, olives, tomatoes, cucumber, croutons. Fresh and filling. I've come back for the beet & goat cheese salad too--also excellent. I usually pick out some of the croutons but better than many than not enough, especially for lunch in midtown. Prices are also very fair for the area. read more

A new joint opened up on Lexington in midtown. The burgers are actually not bad and they have an extensive selection of other sandwiches and burgers. The fries are just like regular fries. Their onion rings are huge...so might want to think about sharing that. The prices are reasonable and the meat is usually cooked medium as stated on their menu but it's still pink and juicy in the inside so it's not like overly cooked dried up. Their services are good. The staff walks around constantly to make sure the tables are clean and checking to see if everything is okay with the customer. Well, we'll see how long that can keep up once things start to get really busy. Overall, I'll still go back there again since it's convenient for lunch and they have enough seating. read more

The food here is great if looking for a good burger and a shake however the staff make the experience difficult if not impossible to end up with your food. Upon calling to place an order I was hung up on 3 times and then asked to go on hold for 10 minutes, after which I was hung up on. When I placed my order online I showed up to find that they had not received my order because they were not logged into the online order system.....I ended up ordering at the counter where they gave me a buzzer to notify me when my order was ready. After waiting 30 minutes and my buzzer not going off I went to the pick up counter to find my food cold and waiting without anyone ever notifying me or activating the buzzer I was given for this exact purpose..... This is not the only time I have experienced pure incompetency at this location, I doubt I will give it another opportunity. read more

I've been coming to Schnipper's for a while now at this Lex Ave location....even turned my coworkers on to it. However, EVERY SINGLE time I order, something is screwed up. I can't count how many times my well done burger has come to medium (visible pink) and I've had to wait as they start all over again. I still let it go.... Today I wanted to try another item on the menu. I ordered the BLT. At the counter I asked them to put well done bacon heated on the grill in my sandwich (as i had seen the cooks take bacon from the container and place it straight on the bread. I was told that it would be heated and my cashier even walked over the prep cooks and told them. Sure enough i got my BLT chock full of cold bacon. I went downstairs and told that guy that the cashier had just been over to request my hot bacon. He dismissively threw out my cold bacon and put a meager 4 slices on the grill to cook. I asked him why so little bacon since the sandwich costs $7.50. He said two slices per side. I had a BREAD, lettuce and tomato sandwich. I customarily spend over $20 for lunch for two there and I get food that is never made to my specifications and I always have to take it down to get corrected. I give up. Unfortunately, I did not like my experience very much. * Food was overpriced. $16.00 for a small burger, fries, and a Boylan soda! That's too extravagant for lunch, in my opinion. * Tried the Green Chile Burger. The burger's size was small. The deceptive packaging made it look much bigger than it was. * The burger's meat was tender and tasty, but there was almost no taste of poblanos, or Schnippers sauce. (Is the sauce very mild tasting?) * Fries were very bland tasting.(Like fried cardboard. No salt, no seasoning. Boring.) * Service was poor. I requested my meal "to stay" but was handed a "to go" bag. When I asked the person behind the counter to make my meal "to stay" on a tray, he gave me a dirty look, like my request was too much! * Condiments were boring as well! Plain old ketchup and yellow mustard. (Gulden's mustard bottle empty, not refilled) Are you kidding me?!?
