We decided to try scrambler cafe after looking at menu online for gluten free. I'm glad we did! Food was awesome. Chicken was huge, very soft and tender. Pancakes were good. Went here for the first time recently. Staff was very nice and attentive. Food was great with a lot of options. You take the receipt and pay at the front. Sign and tip on the touch screen if using a card. Pretty efficient. I'd rather support a small business restaurant like this than go to a chain like IHOP with similar food choices. read more

I heard about this new breakfast/lunch place on Next Door app from my neighbors. We finally got to go there this morning. It's located at the old Moo-ya was at Legacy and Independence. It was packed, so we thought it was a good sign. It's very spacious with lots of ceiling space. We got seated right away. They have breakfast menu on one side and lunch on the other side. We thought that there are so many items to choose from and they serve Lavazza coffee! I like Lavazza! Our server Danny B was very friendly and prompt. The food portion were just right and they were good. The couple things my husband pointed out(He likes to eat a lot and very picky)were that if someone who likes LOTS of food, it's probably not a place for them. He also pointed out that his orange juice was not freshly squeezed, but not every restaurant serves fresh squeezed juice. Like I mentioned, he's extremely picky, but he said his salmon with poached eggs with English muffin were very tasty and my Migas was good also. This place just opened 2 1/2 weeks ago and it did not disappoint!! Good variety of food with super quick service! They do not have the machine for fresh squeezed orange juice yet. The coffee that they serve is Lavazza (server said it's one of the top coffees from Europe). The only thing I think they need to work on is keeping food warm. My hash browns and pancakes were luke warm when they came out. I think it may be because a lot of items they have are pre-made for the day, which is fine, but they just need to ensure it stays hot. This place is bustling but the staff is warm and inviting. While everyone is shuffling their menus around these days to try to raise the prices in the way that gets the least attention, I found their way a bit confusing. They removed the berry combos which I took to like the flagship meal at this restaurant. You can now "add" berries to a combo. But which do you get? Is it the swirl? Will there be icing or just fruit? I'm sure none of it's bad but I don't really like not knowing exactly what I've ordered, what it includes, and what it's going to cost. Call me cheap or particular if you want--I just don't think you should have to ask anyone for basic info that ought to be clearly presented on the menu. But once you get it, the food is good. The sausage is fine. The bacon is fine. The coffee is just ok. And the prices seem a little too much but not the worst. So if you're in the neighborhood, it's not too close to closing time, and you've either been recently enough to remember the things they haven't quite spelled out, it's a good enough breakfast. But it wouldn't take too much change to make me give them back another star. read more

Unless you have money to burn, RUN from this place!!! If I could give 0 stars I would Son and his gf went to breakfast there this morning . Son ordered combo platter that came with sausage and bacon. Waiter asked if he wanted the como or only bacon and he said all bacon. He also asked for extra pancake. When the bill came there was a $4 up charge for every change and 4.00 each for a cup of regular coffee. When he asked at checkout about the up charges. He was told that's the way we go things here. The place was very nice and clean, was a good atmosphere. Menus were nice, with a good sized menu and great choices. Food got out quickly, despite the place being packed, and was delicious. I have always loved this place and I'm there at least three times a month on the weekends. I was a little disappointed with the service today. The person that took care of me was very nice,but the two times that I needed something I had to ask someone else to let her know that I needed her to come to my table. The people at the cashier stand are always very friendly and when I went to pay this afternoon, the lady was doing something on her phone and I just stood there for at least 30 seconds before she even acknowledged me. After signing my credit card she never looked up or thanked me or made any comment towards me. I hate that the service was not good, as it usually is, but the food is still good. So many things to say about Scrambler Cafe. For starters it's the taste. There's nothing truly ground breaking going on in the kitchen, it's just simple meals done really freaking well. Might be the fresh ingredients, might be magic, who knows, and who cares? The menu is stacked and has something for everyone and even the healthier side of things are good here. Far North Dallas has a lovely breakfast-brunch cafe (it closes a 3:00'PM. Located at the NE shopping area close tomTom Thumb's Preston and Frankford location, it is a delightful spot, suitable for all. I suggest that you come hungry-the platters are huge and there is tons to choose from. The owners are the commensurate hosts and the servers could not be more accommodating. A restaurant that's on the end of a strip mall and it doesn't stand out a lot but I like trying places I haven't been before so I went in. It was not extremely busy at 10:30. If you finish your food and you're just finishing up your coffee, tea or whatever you may be drinking, you'll be asked to leave your table. Just be aware. They want you to eat and get out! We had a family of 4 and we were done eating and finishing up our drinks and sunrise had an employee come to our table and ask us to leave as they needed our table. Never have I ever had this happen in my 51 years of living. I understand there are others, but we're paying customers as well. We will not be back to your establishment as that is the rudest thing I have ever encountered at a restaurant. Money is more important to your restaurant than customers. Shove it! read more
