Pros: Got a muffin, a quiche and a brownie. All were pretty good, perhaps not great. The mom & pop shop breakfast options are a tad limited locally, so this is a nice place if you want something to go. Location is very convenient and theres always parking if you're willing to deal with the Major Con at the bottom. Cons: Theres definitely a slightly cliquey feel, I wouldn't say I was unwelcome, but certainly wouldn't say particularly welcome either. Major Con: The meter maid guy in a black truck in the parking lot. If you don't promptly make a beeline for the door of a business he decides you need yelled at. If I have to deal with that guy again I'll stop shopping in this complex. read more

Lesli, the owner of Scratch Baking, made our wedding cake. It was gorgeous and delicious! We chose the salted caramel and she decorated it beautifully with flowers. The servers at our wedding said they see a dozen weddings a year and this was the first time they'd ever had the plates completely clean after the cake. We got a ton of compliments. No matter what you order you will not be disappointed! The new location has brought more space and menu options with the same great service. I love how the menu always changes based on seasonal/holiday favorites. If you prefer traditional bakery items they have everyday gold standards (muffins, scones, cookies, bars, brownies, breads, etc). Their weekend toast specials, salads and all sandwiches are amazing. If you buy a whole loaf of bread they will slice for you and they all have frozen really well. Coffee & espresso never disappoints (all local) and if you like Matcha Green Tea/Chai Lattes they are perfect hot or cold. Can't say enough about this place! read more

love this place. first time in last week. got 2 buns, a biscotti, and a bar. buns were HUGE and great- challah-like, nice for a burger. berry bar was amazing even the next morning. biscotti - somehow i guess this wasn't put in my bag even though we ordered it (and i think paid for it) .. so probably this would be 5 stars if i got all the stuff i ordered. not super-easy to see, we drove by once and i didnt see it set back off the road a little in an office-ish strip mall near the train tracks. read more

Every bite I have had of a Scratch baked good is perfect... So perfect that the occasional supply problem must be overlooked. To top it off, the service is friendly and helpful. I even order things the day before if they're going to be closed and even a day old it's better then most everywhere else. First stopped in yesterday - August 2. Purchased a blueberry muffin and a cranberry/orange scone. They were both extremely delicious! Very fresh and tasty. Well worth the price. The girl who took care of me was very nice. Even the people in line were nice! I hope Scratch Baking stays here for a long time and prospers. Brought our son here for his birthday to get some cookies. We arrived in the late afternoon and it was quiet in there, as I think most of their traffic is breakfast and lunch. We got a chocolate chip cookie which was delicious and one of the bars (believe it was called cowboy). The bar was huge with lots of chocolate- very rich and sweet, definitely big enough to split! The only reason I give 4 stars is because we were disappointed with the sugar cookie-it was really dry and crumbled. Despite the sugar cookie we will definitely be back and highly recommend to others because everything else was great and we may have just gotten a dud with the sugar cookie that day. read more

I agree with everything written about Scratch and about the owner Lesli. She is as amazing as the pastries they sell. Everytime I bring pastries from Scratch Baking to friends and family they cannot believe how fresh and delicious everything is. The tarts and cakes are so wonderful as are the breads. Also nothing is overly sweet because they use only natural ingredients. Lesli has taken care of some of my orders and she is as sweet as the other workers/bakers there They are also soooo young and cheerful. BEST place for baked goods! Always fresh, always delicious, the staff is so friendly and nice, and the place is always beautiful and clean! I wish I could give this place 10 stars. It's my favorite bakery and I think of excuses just to go here. I can't believe they sell monkey bread, which is outstanding, as another commenter said! I also have to agree with another commenter that their coffee is always fresh and lovely. I used to go to the Emerald Bakery and realized how many times they've let me down. Delectably crunchy and sugar cinnamon-y on the outside, you will find tender raisins in a lovely eggy custard-flavored inside.
