The very pleasant and hard working owner was behind the flat-top; he makes everything from scratch. The tacos were HUGE and of very high quality. $5.00 for the two tacos and I'm stuffed. Was looking forward to some good Mexican food based on the many positive reviews. This restaurant is located in a strip mall across from Cypress College. To begin with....be aware what you see in pictures is not necessarily what you will get. I ordered the tostada because of the picture posted. Instead of a flour tortilla bowl with slices of Carne Asada as shown, I got a flat corn tortilla with refried beans, DICED Carne Asada, lettuce and tomato. I asked if they would hold the Cotija cheese. The cashier typed in "no cheese". The only saving grace for this tostada is the lettuce was fresh...no brown pieces with a few pieces of tomato. We also ordered a (2) taco combo with Carne Asada. The entree came with rice and beans. The beans tasted a bit like refried canned beans (flavorless). The tacos were generously filled...but the complaint was the meat was dry and had no flavor. We added salsa and pico de gallo which helped a little. We ended up dumping about 1/2 of this entree. Last but not least, we also had a Carne Asada burrito. No complaints that I heard of. Menu board is somewhat difficult to decipher. Tip: There is a sign posted with the disclaimer that there is a 60 cent surcharge for all credit card transactions. Not sure how current this information is. Not worth considering a return trip. Every month I get a $10 Credit for food with my American Express (yay), lol. A couple of days ago I felt like having some chilaquiles, that's when I found Señor Taco and decided to give them a try. Everything I've had there so far has been great. Their chilaquiles is untouchable. I opened up my take-home plate the first time I ordered from there and was surprised at how much food was on my plate. The rice was soft, the beans were perfect and the chips in the chilaquiles were crispy and the amount of scrambled eggs they put? I'll take it! Their salsa they gave to put on the food? Made it even better. I knew I'd be back. The next day I went back for more and ordered myself a Breakfast Burrito. Eggs, potatoes and cheese. Basic burrito in most peoples eyes, but man, they grill the burrito??? YES PLEASE! I can't get enough of the food. Two days later I brought my ex here and she ordered herself the Veggie Burrito and I ordered the Chilaquiles again, lol. This place is delicious, what can I say? I've passed by this place several hundred times over the years and never stopped by to try for some reason. I heard the prices were very reasonable and food was good as I assumed it catered to the college kids as it's located right across from Cypress College. Well, lo and behold I finally decided to stop by and try this joint out and was surprisingly impressed. I ordered a burrito with both carnitas and al pastor meats. I decided to make it a wet burrito and asked for both red and green sauce. The burrito ended up being huge. One of the sauces was pretty spicy. Not sure which sauce one was hot. The burrito was so big that I ended up making two meals out of it. Think it cost around $9 or so. It was delish. I definitely would get it again. There was a salsa bar. It just 1-2 different sauces. Wish there was more since I'm a sauce person. The parking lot is small but the other few businesses are not busy so you should be able to find a spot. There is also some street parking. Señor Taco is by far one of the best places to have tacos. My family has been going there for years and we when we think of tacos de tripas and buche, we think of Señor Taco. We recently did a phone order and asked all orders be separate and Isabella took our order.. she not only put the orders in individual bags, but wrote the orders on the bags and included chips, and lemon slices in each bag.. wow.. such great service.. Each meal you order, at least to-go, gets you a small bag of tortilla chips. Sweet deal! I've only tried a few items on their menu but it hits the spot every time. They have an a la carte option or a meal option that includes beans & rice, I think? I usually get the a la carte options. My personal favorite are the beef flautas. You get 4 decently sized flautas + chopped up lettuce for $6.00. Sweet deal! Comes with guac, sour cream and cheese. Food quality is always on point so I have little to complain about in that regard. I want to also commend how they make their horchata here. It isn't super watered down like some locations I've been to. This is worth noting. I called in to place my order ... the lady took my order was very friendly and sweet. I placed my order then picked them up. It is a hidden in the corner you could miss it just like I did, thanks to my waze .. took me back in seconds. The food is amazing! I love how the onions grilled to perfection, some may like them raw & chopped to top your meat but here I just love the perfectness of the White onion grilled and sweet. The price is very affordable for the size of the tacos. Rice & Beans were perfectly seasoned. Omg... the bomb ass salsa YUM!! It maybe too spicy for some but I love spicy and do it was just right for me. I would definitely come back and try different items. decided to try a new mexican spot to satisfy my burrito fix. the place I normally go to makes small burritos and I wanted something bigger! we came here around 7pm on a saturday during covid. we were able to go in and order right away. the food came out pretty fast, only downside was they originally made my burrito wet and when I got the bag and checked the salsa spilled out of the box and got all over the inside of the bag. my boyfriend went back inside to let them know we ordered a regular burrito and not the wet one. they immediately remade the burrito and we were good to go. FOOD: -asada burrito ($7.89) - reasonable price, larger sized burrito, comes with rice, beans, cheese, onion, cilantro and salsa. honestly, quality wise it was just ok. wasn't amazing - but I really like the size and price. it filled me up. -tacos ($2.55/each) - my boyfriend got these and they looked great. he did say they felt reheated and therefore dried out -chips & salsa (FREE) - I was pleasantly surprised with their free chips and salsa. I enjoyed these at the end of my meal with the free salsa. thank you for providing these! these chips are a bit thicker than normal chips, but got the job done. But I was feeling nostalgic and my old spot for breakfast burritos fell off the map, so I hit up Señor Taco and I'M GLAD I DID! First breakfast burrito in ages was their Chorizo Breakfast Burrito and OMG... you know that scene in Ratatouille when Ego's childhood comes zooming back. Yeah, basically same. Dropped our daughter off at Knott's Berry Farm and decided to look for a breakfast place in the area and through yelp we found this little place. Was clean and well kept. Behind one counter there was someone making fresh tortillas which was nice to see that they were making it fresh. Always a good sign. They have a very extensive menu. Wow!!! You have tables of 4 or tables for 6 which can be merged together. Outside seating is provided but it's more of a sit in the patio and people watch kind of deal. Feels: * A simple small shop located across Cypress College. Not the most fancy or impressive place but it gets the job done. Fairly clean place with a tv on a soccer channel if you're into that kind of stuff. Food: *Chicken Fajitas (To-Go) (Recommend) Served hot, fresh, and seasoned with a good kick. Just a decent amount of food to fill me up. The red sauce wasn't extremely hot but good to raise your alertness. Customer Service: My server was nice as she was informative about the menu items. My order came in a reasonable time. Overall: 4.5 stars. Price was about right, choices were great, food was delicious. This is delicious home made Mexican food. Everything I've eaten here is fantastic. I especially enjoy their red chicken enchiladas, their cheese empanadas, menudo and birria.
