This is one of our favorite places to go to for dim sum. Recommended to go when they open. Less ppl and you get seated right away otherwise wait time can be super long for large parties. Typical Chinese type restaurant but cleaner. And for parking, it is plentiful but hectic later in the day. They don't have much of the hot carts going now. Seems like there were some changes from the last time we went (which was a while ago). Only hot cart was the rice cake noodles/rolls and everything else, you had to order with the waiter. Some items are not available until 11am so it does have its con going before that but it's clearly stated on the menu too so you cannot act surprise if it's not available for order. We typically get the sui mai, har gow, taro cake with egg, soup dumplings, beef tripe, Chinese donuts, plain rice noodles, fried taro with scallop and the egg baos. Everything is usually fresh and hot and delicious and comes out fast. Servers are typical. When you see them and need them, best wave them down or else they don't come by as it's super busy in there once more ppl start to arrive. Their beef was off and lacked the aromatics we are used to. The turnip cake with egg was lacking in flavor and presentation. It was a turnip cake cooked on top of a scrambled egg. No sauce. Seafood Cove is easily one of the best places for dim sum in the Westminster area. Dim sum staples like the typical siu mai, har gow, sticky rice are all outstanding here. Perhaps the best part about this place is that the service is actually very friendly and efficient. They don't offer dim sum carts here but you can order with a paper menu and theres plenty of photos so it makes ordering a breeze. I also appreciate how clean the restaurant is. No sticky dishes and dirty utensils here. Would recommend: * siu mai - the perfect example of a well executed siu mai where there is a perfect harmony of shrimp to pork with neither flavor overpowering each other. Each bite is snappy, slightly sweet and savory. * har gow - the skin isn't the thinnest but this was still good. * lotus sticky rice - the rice is flavorful and very aromatic. I love how much minced meat and chinese sausage they stuff into this. Its perfect with a drizzle of chili oil. * baked egg yolk bun - wish there was more filling. But the bun itself was light, fluffy, and airy. The filling was a nice balance of sweet egg flavor and saltiness. * rice roll with shrimp - rice roll is delicate and soft with each snappy shrimp piece. The sauce is sweet with a strong soy sauce flavor. Also I love how they bring the chili oil and sambal out automatically without having to ask. It just pairs so perfectly for the dim sum dishes. We usually spend about $60-$65 for 4 people which is pretty reasonable. We always have leftovers too. If you're wondering if Seafood Cove is worth the wait, it is! The sister spots have been our favorites for many years, we decided to come try this spot last week for a family birthday. Parking is fair, this lot has been tight the 30 plus years we have been going to it. We got lucky and got some up front parking. Large party and they sat us right away, once the order was in the food started flowing and everything was excellent. Seafood is a family favorite (not always mine) but I have to say I enjoyed EVERYTHING. Nothing was overly fishy and was prepared fresh. This one may be our new go to spot. No regrets though, we decided to stay for dinner, and it was a fantastic. Felt like I was taken back to my childhood those classic family dinners out with my parents. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. There was no wait during our visit. The food is delicious!! But the service? Even better. Janet, who helped us during our meal, was incredibly kind, patient, and friendly. She guided us through the menu and made some excellent recommendations, none of which disappointed. The food came out SO fast, and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. They're also very accommodating for large parties, which is great to know for future visits with family or friends. Went here for dim sum recently and was happy to see it's still popping as usual. On a Saturday at 1:30pm we had a 40 min wait and they thankfully serve dim sum til 3pm. It's now order off a menu instead of the traditional carts, which is sad, but their food is still 100% on point! I used to love seafood cove 2 but I've noticed that the quality isn't really what it used to be anymore which is so sad! My husband and his family grew up eating the dim sum here but they agreed that they don't want to eat here anymore primarily due to the quality of ingredients used. We were willing to deal with the bad parking and long waits for the food but now we've found another place that has better quality food with better parking and a shorter wait. The only plus to this spot is that it opens up early so if you want dim sum at 9am, you can get dim sum at 9 am! The lines are still very long for some reason but for me, I'd rather wait to go to J Zhou in Tustin because the quality and taste of their dim sum is better. Still, because it does open up early, and because the servers are all so friendly, I'd still say that this is a four start place - I'd go again and even suggest it if it's convenient but otherwise wouldn't go back. read more

Today, I was given a second opportunity to enjoy Seafood Cove with my pickleball crew, as the first time I ever tried it was right after the pandemic with my girlfriend at the time. I can now retract my previous statements of how terrible everything was a few years back! Seafood Cove is a solid choice for dim sum, thus, the line of patrons you'll find both inside and outside when you arrive. We ate a number of items, and although nothing stood out for me, everything was pretty darn good! Two in our group were very impressed with the baked pineapple buns, while my cousin's wife loved the har gow and shrimp noodle rolls. Of all the things my cousin and I tried, the siu mai and turnip cake were on point! I'm glad they gave me a chance to give Seafood Cove another try, unexpectedly, I might add, because our pickleball plans were rained on. I'll definitely be returning for more dim sum! You do have to make certain reservations for large parties sometime. They have some great Siu Mais, Dim Sim. I also love the Chicken Feet here and other meats and Chowmein and rice with your food. They serve roasted duck as well. Less expensive here, but lately prices have gone up a little bit. The place is on the top floor balcony at the Little Saigon Plaza, near the mall and all. Only the steamed rolls are served tableside in the OG carts, and the rest are ordered with the server. No complaints because it basically ensures you get it right after it was cooked in the kitchen! Favorites are the football (savory glutenous/mochi balls), steamed shrimp rice rolls, shrimp hargow, shumai, pork ribs, and turnip cakes with egg. Add their spicy (but not that spicy) sauce for that extra umami - your taste buds will thank you. It may seem a little tricky ordering since the menu doesn't say the price per item, but my group felt stuffed with a little bit of leftovers after spending about $25 per person, which really isn't that bad for freshly made dim sum in OC. [Parking]: Free plaza parking and there were few available spots when I arrived at 5:30 AM on Saturday. [Amenities - dinner]: The restaurant is first come, first served and our party was able to get a table immediately as the restaurant was less than 50% packed for Saturday early dinner. The restaurant accepts card payment. Our dinner also ended with a complimentary che (mung bean tapioca dessert). [Menu - dinner]: According to their website, their special dishes are House Special Lobster, Peking Duck, Kung Pao Chicken, Honey Walnut Shrimp, and Clams with Basil Sauce. Lobster is weighted by pound and our server actually brought a live lobster before ... cooking it. The weight was appromxately slightly more than 2 pound and had enough portion for 5 adults. Steam rice is $1.25 per person. *** #22 House Special Lobster (about 2 lb of lobster - seasonal price): Apparently our lobster was possibly missing one claw, but lobster tasted pretty decent & meaty and garlic noodle was alright. #1 Salt & Peppers Spareribs ($18.95): It was alright and it had slightly more bones than meats. #52 Honey Walnut Shrimp ($23.95): A bit expensive and portion was slightly underwhelming, but the dish tasted pretty good. *** Overall it was a so-so dinner experience - a very typical Chinese family style dinner with nothing to write home about. read more
