I have long had a love affair with See's Candy. My mom once threatened to disown me when I was 16 over a box of See's (long story, but it had to do with me being stoned or something and biting the corner of all the pieces in a 1lb. box to find the kind I liked). Anyway.... I came here the day before Halloween with the hopes of getting this cute little box with just enough candy to give to my love. (You see, I have been trying not to eat too much junk food and even bought the kind of candy neither of us would eat to hand out for Halloween). Unfortunately, they were sold out-along with most Halloween offerings. Sigh. So, the nice lady behind the counter offered me a piece of candy. A kind I don't like so I refused. I asked for random pieces as I made a little box of my own for my guy, and after she caught wind of what I was getting, gave me a sample of my favorite (caramel with almonds). It was heavenly, and just enough to satisfy my chocolate craving. I like the customer service at See's. I like the fact that the only thing that has really changed over the years is the prices. Mmmmmmmmm....it's See's time!!!! Who DOESN'T like this? I admit, I'm not a huge fan of chocolate, but this place makes my tummy ask for more all the time. You always get a free sample when you go in, just ask for any kind you want! Sometimes I just go in for a sample then leave...haha =) My personal favorites are: Raspberry- best fruit ever! The long chocolate bar with...almonds? Came in here around 5:45pm last night and it was me + 1 other person...the lady behind the counter was very helpful to the first customer, so i had a small wait til it was my turn since she was picking things for a custom box. when i was to be rung up she let me try my fav candy, the california brittle. it was so good! all i purchased was a 1# box of assorted chocolates (mom's bday so i had to get her fav) but it was quick friendly service...i'd much rather go here then stoneridge for future candy needs! read more

Wow...no sample offered...such a disappointing stop on our trip. See's has always been my favorite, so when we are visiting California it is always a stop we make. The customer service at this location was so awful it made the candy taste bad! Which is probably why we were the only customers in the store. I always had the best memories of working and shopping at See's Candies...such a shame! read more

I would not recommend going here during quarantine. The system they have does not work and the workers are extremely rude. I might go back after quarantine is over but I hope they hire better employees. read more

I always stop by this location when I get a sweet tooth at work (my office is across the street). This is a great location. During the day it is never too busy. I always get my sample and a few pieces to bring home. I am knocking a star because the little Asian lady and the older white woman who work here are a bit strange. The Pleasant Hill location has nicer employees. I asked them when the seasonal sours were arriving (a MUST buy), and they did not know. I said "they should sell the sours year round!" and they said "why are you telling us, we don't make them. hahaha". uhh? I was just making a suggestion. They seemed weird. ANYWAYS, here is a list of my favorite items that See's makes: 1)Seasonal Sours (a higher end Sour Patch Kid)- only available for 4th of July, Halloween, Christmas, Valentines, and Easter. This particular Sees is outstanding. Particulary Vanessa. I've been here maybe 3 or 4 times, and I've had the pleasure of having Vanessa serve me 75% of the time. Her brillant smile, bubbly voice and people pleasing skills is among some of the best I've experienced. The store is always really clean, well stocked. Never a line... what more could you want? Yummm. The dark chocolate raspberry cream is the perfect balance of the sweet and slightly sour flavor in every bite!! If you haven't had it, I highly recommend it, when you visit See's Candy. My husband prefers the limited edition milk chocolate double caramel. It has a chew and soft center combined in your bites. The little lady behind the counter was extremely friendly asking what we would like to try. I like the selection and the service here. Will definitely stop by more often. read more

I haven't been in this store for a few years. The service was so awful, I stopped going. When they cherry-picked who they wanted to wait on rather than who was next, I decided this wasn't the place for me. But, I decided to give it a try again. Service is even worst now than what I remember. I can't believe human beings can more that slowly. I moved faster and I was standing still. Twice as many employees than customers were there but only one waited on customers - extremely slowly. It was too painful to watch this inefficient mess. read more

I NEVER give a 5 star review but after the service I received today (Friday, June 7th), this WILL BE the only See's Candy I frequent. My husband and I walked in and immediately knew what we wanted. This young lady (dont know her name but she had really decorative nails) came to assist us. It was 3:38pm, hot as hell outside and we were irritable due to the weather. She was sooo kind and patient. We placed our order immediately. Meanwhile, she asked if we'd like a sample, we said yes, of course! She gave us a few samples, we were so grateful! I said to her "You are really kind, thank you so much." Then she says.. "I want you guys to be happy and comfortable while you're waiting. I want you to enjoy your service so that you continue to come back." I was SOOOO impressed with this young lady (the youngest associate there at the time) and her response, that I WILL continue to patron this store and convey to everyone I know (by word of mouth) to do the same! Extremely slow and inefficient service. I was buying a 2 pound pre pack box and the two store employees were chatting with a customer for about 12 minutes without even recognizing me who was patiently waiting to pay. The least they could do was that one of them to help me while the other one was helping the customer. Today my wife was trying to send me there to buy a box of chocolate for our party. I made several trips to this store during the Christmas season and it was always jam packed with way too many people (including yours truly) hand selecting their candies, rather than taking the easy route and picking up the nicely wrapped pre-packed boxes. I can't even imagine how hard it is to maintain a friendly attitude while people like myself seek to fill one or two pound boxes with individual selections (no dupes in my boxes, thank you very much) -- but the people who work here make it seem easy. They are all so friendly and patient. One woman even hummed the entire time I made my selections. Another nice touch -- they let you pick your free candy. I'll take a Bordeaux please. So they don't have dark chocolate covered apricots at See's but they do give you the nostalgic feeling of an old-time candy store. The attendants are very helpful, and they are really generous with the free samples! This month they have egg nog truffles. If you like egg nog as much as I do it is definitely a must-have. So a few days ago, my boyfriend had taken me to the See's factory in South San Francisco and I tried their candy for the first time. I'm not a chocolate fan at all so that's why I'm trying See's Candies for the first time in 23 years... Anyways, he gave a the Milk Butterscotch and I fell in LOVE. The next week, he bought me a gift certificate for a pound of anything I want. I know, what a sweetheart. So being the first time I've ever been alone and gone to the store, I came to my local store which was this one in San Ramon. I walked in, no one in the store other than the lady behind the counter. She said hello and offered me a candy, which I didn't like so I politely refused. I Egan perusing the selection to find the one I like, while she asked me what I wanted. Not politely but just, "what would you like?" in a monotone/"I-hate-my-job"-tone of voice. I told her I was looking for the milk chocolate candy with the brown sugar mixture inside, and she started pointing out the possibilities of what I was talking about. When I said I didn't know what the name was, she got irritated and kept throwing names at me, saying "you're talking about this one..." which I bit into and had caramel in it. Not the one I was talking about. I asked her to please give me a few minutes to see my choices on the flavor selection sheet, (again, no one else in the store) while she let out this irritated sigh, clearly indicating that she was getting impatient. I politely apologized and said it was my first time there. She then asked me what else I wanted. By this time another customer had walked in and the other lady on duty started helping him. Because the lady helping me obviously only got more irritated with my uncertainty and indecisiveness, I just asked that she give me whatever the one is that is with milk chocolate and brown sugar, and a few walnut squares for my mom. She rang me up without saying a word and then sent me on my way. Finally after i had said thank you she said have a good day. Once I arrive home, I bit into one of the candies I hoped to be the one I wanted, only to find she gave me all the ones I told her that it wasn't, the caramel one. Feeling defeated, I let my mom have the whole box. Never again will I return to this location. I'd rather drive to Stoneridge Mall than visit that lady. read more

Candy is excellent. Went to store day after Easter and the woman working behind the counter was surly and not helpful. She was just nasty when asked about a certain type of candy . She then proceeded to say that she could not understand why anyone would buy candy the day after Easter . She could have been more helpful. read more

The staff is very friendly and great and giving you the sample of your choice. This place is always well stocked with pre-boxed and bagged chocolates unless you come on the day of a holiday (eg. Valentine's) but at that point that's on you for not coming early. I generally come here than the mall since it's less busy, but I do have to check my chocolates. On 2 occassions I ordered the california brittle and got the peanut butter flavored chocolate that looks just like what I ordered. I was shocked considering they know the chocolate so well. But it is bound to happen I guess. read more

Razia is AMAZING!! My entire family drives from Discovery Bay, Brentwood and Castro Valley for their Sees candy because of the wonderful customer service Razia provides! She made a card with all my favorites and logged it so that my husband could get me sees every week! She always goes above and beyond for us! Terrible customer service. There were 2 people in the store, they were together, customizing several boxes of candy when I walked in. I stood in line with my prepackaged box for 5 minutes without ever being acknowledged. Is a 'hello' too much to ask? Apparently so. Go to Stoneridge, they have way better customer service. read more

Nothing better than a pound of marzipan after lunch, not kidding, the box is getting empty as I write this. Definitely my favorite candy here, has been for years, and still is. This location is good, when I come, between 1 and 1:30pm, only one person ahead of me, but I could see service time getting slower, that is what to expect when people want samples, so no worries here. Coming here is so much more convient than going to the mall today. They opened early so I got in before the Christmas last minute rush. THANK YOU All The YELPERS WHO mWROTE ABOUT THE RUDE SALESLADY! I was warned and I finally got her. I knew exactly what I wanted but she commented was that all I wanted on the dark chocolate side before she had to get the two pieces I wanted over in the truffle side. I said I had another box to fill. When I paid she did not wrap one of my boxes so I asked her to as it was a gift. I then needed a bag. She handed that to me and said happy holiday or something to that effect with a very sour look. In her mind she must mean the opposite. All the other ladies who work there are exceptionally nice. I feel sorry that they have to work with her. Her life must not be a happy one for her to be so bitter. read more

I asked if someone else was available to help and the lady behind the counter barked" We're working as fast as we can!" They could have cared less. Obviously you either love the candy or you don't. I love the candy, yes! But be careful who helps you at this See's shop. I believe her name was Rozia (or similar). I had forgotten about her; I had her help me about 6 months earlier. This time was the same. She was rude from about one minute in, after offering me and my mother-in-law the free piece of candy. Harsh toned phrases like, "Ma'am, you need to tell me HOW MUCH you need of each one because otherwise I will have no idea!" (I know, and obviously, but sometimes you think out loud, right?) and other things like "Now I need to get out my calculator to figure out how much more you need to fill to this box!" Don't you work here Rozia? Have you never filled a box before? I did not understand where her irritation was coming from. My complaint is to the customer service here. It really is worse than what I'm writing. It was embarrassing and I couldn't even look her in the face. My stars are for yummy candy and cleanliness I suppose.
