Came in early on a Monday night with a largish group of family members (6 total), including a preschooler. The sushi bar was full with regulars about 15 mins after opening. do not go here for dining or take out! very rude, rude, rude people!! website at first said it closes at 8:30 pm! i only live around the corner and got there 10 mins before 8pm! i was standing there for 10 mins. looking at their menu trying to decide what i want to order for take out and "no one" bothered to ask if i needed help! then 10 mins later one of the workers has the nerve to say "actually we're closed!!" not a good way to treat customers who got there before their supposed closing time & stood around & no ask if they needed help! poor sh_tty customer service! you dont pretend customer is invisible while they're waiting there 10 mins looking at the menu then say "actually we're closed! i had to drive far out of the area to find another sushi restaurant!! you all better be glad you still have jobs during this pandemic cuz in a blink of an eye you wont have one! that will be karma for you turning customers away like that! stupid b-- woman! read more

Me and my wife love this place. The staff is nice and sushi is great. Can't get fresher sushi anywhere else. We recently moved away, but try and make it back as often as we can. This is where my wife first tried sushi and since then she loves it now. read more

As good as it gets! Came in on a Monday for lunch, so not crazy-busy and I was served quickly. Fair warning, there was a good amount of wasabi on the sushi and I wasn't expecting it (as I already put more on top .lol) but it was still good- fresh fish and favorful rice. I was starting to think there was no good sushi in San Pedro. Came here for dinner with my family on a Thursday night. This place is a gem. Tempura batter was light and crisp as it should be. Hamachi sashimi melted in your mouth, super fresh and clean, perfect cuts. Sake and Hamachi Nigiri was just right as well, no fishy after-taste at all. It's easy to get yellowtail that's off at sushi places, but Senfuku did not disappoint. Will definitely be going back. read more

I've been coming to Senfuku for over 25 years and I got to say it's only getting worse. The service is ok but the wait is extremely long especially when you order any sushi. The quality is also getting bad, something you can get from a Market or fast food joint. I had always wandered in to this restaurant for their take out green-tea ice cream, but tonight I got to sit down and sample their sushi. It was awesome, the whole shebang, right in the barrio. Our rice was served by the cutest little girl, we got to watch our sushi get prepared at the bar or sit at a nicely secluded table. It occupies the cultural center of the harbor. While it's not exactly cheap (for a cheapskate), you can eat a meal for around the same price as an In-n-out combo. A 6-piece tuna roll for 3.80 with the works included free of charge is hard to argue with. I had 3 orders of that alone. Altogether, you can get full to bursting for about 10 bucks, which is much better than the chain sushi stores around the harbor area. The real treat was the courteous staff combined with the Senfuku Rolls: I had told myself, I'm never going to eat squid. It's really, really tasty. After tip and tax, for a non-drinker, you are getting more than your money's worth. Most japanese food places make their money off the imported beer and sake, and so I hesitantly say that eating here will cost you between 11 and 30 dollars and it will taste great. read more

one afternoon they brought in the biggest yellow-tail tuna i had ever seen. I ask the person who delivered the tuna when was it caught? He said late afternoon the day before. my husband loves this place for The Shrimp Boat, my son loves this place because the chef's name is Yoshi, and I love it because it's authentic Japanese Cuisine. Watch him when he prepares your sushi. he does so with the conviction of a traditional sushi chef. its as if he channels his ancestors as he wields his knife through the raw fish. plussss he has umeboshi. i look for that everywhere. go here and support your local mom n pops! read more

We love this place! Great sushi and we have enjoyed everything we have ordered there. We liked the salmon collar and the sweet shrimp.

Slow service. Slow kitchen. Chicken was not good. Salad came with thousand island instead of ginger dressing. Not a good experience.
