I find that I need a burrito, both physiologically and emotionally, on a daily basis, but I don't actually get a burrito very often. I don't dine out as often as I used to, and sometimes it's necessary to get a cheeseburger. Of course I would never attempt to make a burrito in my own home. I wouldn't have visited Seoul Taco today, except that another restaurant I intended to visit, nearby, was closed. I'd read on the app that it's sometimes randomly not open during posted business hours, and wouldn't you know, that turned out to be the case today. Did the owner decide he'd rather go fishing? Is he in jail for a crime that would be considered reprehensible even by Grove standards? I'm not into spreading rumors. Ask someone at Pie Guy. Oh wait, you can't. This location of the local Korean fusion chain appeared to me like a beacon at the east end of the eclectic business district. It's in a weirdly nice building that may have been purposely designed to attract gainfully employed young people. The entire block, consisting of at least two apartment buildings and multiple storefronts, has the design language of a circa '08 Chipotle. If you wanted to, you could actually live in an apartment above Seoul Taco. Imagine how convenient that would be. I knew I should have tried harder in college. The burrito here is an especially generous serving, the fact that it consists primarily of rice notwithstanding, but the tacos might be the thing to get. It's a perfectly fine serving size, and the emphasis is on the meat, as it should be. Right, Puff Daddy? The Seoul Tacos come with your choice of meat, spring mix that's probably from a bag, some sort of sriracha-mayo mix and that might be it. I'm not familiar with the Street Tacos, and in fact I wasn't aware that they existed until just now. They might have more of an attitude. I toyed with the idea of getting a quesadilla, which is never bad, even if you get it from Taco Bell. Instead, I went with the Nachos, for a little textural contrast. I got one taco in addition to the nachos, because I hadn't had one in literally decades, and I figured it might be useful as a point of comparison if I visit any other restaurants that serve tacos. The nachos were surprisingly beef-forward. Rarely are you presented with an entree that has more beef in it than you expected. I felt like I was in a Wendy's circa 1983. For anything with beef in it, you pay a surcharge that, depending on the item, is almost enough to purchase an entire meal elsewhere, so I guess that's the least they can do. Meanwhile, there's not much cheese. Should it not be the opposite? By definition, nachos are chips and cheese. You don't even necessarily need the meat. Was the person who made this on drugs? There's a dispensary nearby. You're bombarded by the smell, if you park at that end of the street. For the taco, I went with the spicy pork, which might be the thing to get. The beef is great (ahem), and I suspect that the surcharge has as much to do with the taste as the food cost (they could just give you less of it, or jack up the price of everything else), but the pork is arguably just as good (with all due respect to the Honorable Minister), and it has the rare distinction of having a spice level appropriate for an adult of normal intelligence. You can actually taste it. If I were to return, I'd probably get the Seoul Tacos with the pork, even if money were no object. Like, if I won the lottery. I was delighted to see that this place has cookies, and of course I felt obligated to try one, as part of a balanced diet. They don't seem to be freshly baked, and they cost too much, but they're great. If I'm not mistaken, one of them was a matcha chocolate chip. Clearly, it was designed to appeal to the kind of person who would pay a premium to live upstairs. I went with some sort of salted caramel--like a chocolate chip cookie, but with caramel instead of chocolate. It was ginormous, tasty and probably very unhealthy. It had a texture not unlike those soft batch cookies they had to pull from the market because the trans fats would cause your heart to explode. If I ever die, it's their fault.

Overall I like Seoul taco a lot, the flavors are good and the food always seems fresh. The tacos and bowls are excellent and I really enjoy the branding. This location in particular isn't the best, though. Unfortunately it's the closest to my house. The atmosphere in this location feels unfinished and disconnected from the other locations. Also, the people working don't greet you or seem happy to help.. in fact the reason I'm leaving a review is because the last three times we've been in there placing a to go order, we wait and wait and wait while they call out some peoples orders, but neglect to call ours despite us placing the order directly and waiting on site. Each time we had to revisit the counter and pickup our food that's been sitting out. Once we get home, the egg is congealed, meat and rice are cold, and the overall experience is a bust. They could be doing better at this location, they just don't seem to care.

Went for lunch with some coworkers. Food was really good and came out quickly. The OG kimchi was underwhelming for the price, but the Gogi bowl was great! The person who took my order was fast and friendly, moving the line quickly! Dining room was pretty clean for how busy it was, but the exterior doors weren't all unlocked. Like, 1 door of each set was unlocked, making it odd to get in and out. 1 door was actually blocked by a wooden trashcan box. Weird. But the Gogi bowl! So good!

It was my first experience with combining Korean and Mexican food, and it was awesome! I loved the funky quesadillas and the spicy pork. That said, I would have loved a bit more attention as a customer. They even forgot to give me napkins. But I won't hold it against them. I'll give them a second chance.

I wish we had one of these in New Orleans! I had the gogi bowl and it was amazing! Spicy like I like it. We ordered there to go and it took about 10 or so minutes to prepare. I would suggest ordering in advance.

The good: There are more Seoul Tacos than ten years ago - there's more opportunity to get. Another good; they're consistent. What you craved ten years ago is still the same throughout this chain. What is the name of this craving? Spicy pork burrito and some times the chicken burrito bowl (with egg). Decor is modern casual with high ceilings. Now the bad about this location: First, street parking can be challenging. Second, and my biggest criticism is actually directed at the municipality that runs this area. 12.1% sales tax. I've always wondered how an iconic area has a problem retaining businesses and I think I may have uncovered why. Am not sure about the business license tax in comparison to other municipalities and it might be attractive for businesses overhead cost reduction but sales tax will drive customers away. I did walk in on this establishments with only one customer at 1130am, and no one else after I left. I love Seoul Tacos, and I hope this location survives.

Easy, delicious, simple. It has been awhile since we indulged in the beauty that is seoul taco. This local chain boasts a simple, yet flavorful menu. They only have about 5-7 entrees, but with multiple protein selections and add ons you can really create a diverse plate. We have had just about everything on the menu up to this point. My partner is hypnotized by the spicy pork burrito. Anything bulgogi here has my heart. I went with tacos and kimchi fried rice. The bulgogi tacos were insane. And, for street tacos, had a solid amount of toppings/protein. The bulgogi is tender and ever so sweet. Cooked to perfected. The kimchi fried rice is amazing. I am not a huge kimchi fan, but if you sprinkle a bit of salt on top this dish goes to another level. The kimchi stays crunchy and offers fantastic acidity. The sesame seeds add some nice texture also. The workers are always nice and the vibes are good. Casual, quick, and quality. You can always eat inside, but we love to grab it as a quick bite and just take it home to enjoy. It never misses. Never.

The Food is so tasty, and the ambiance is creative and awesome. It's perfect for a group hangout session or a date night. Staff are funny, good at their job, and they serve quality food. I wonder if they have events lol. They serve a nice selection of alcohol, and have outdoor patio seating as well. Including an indoor bench like seating that's creative, and optimal for a photo op !! 10/10.

    Gogian Waffle Nachos
    Mollie M.

Talk about a flavor blast! I got the Gogian Waffle Nachos. They are exclusive to in-store only, you can't order them online. The meal was a mixture of the Gogi Bowl and Nachos. The queso blanco felt out of place with the sweet potato waffle fries, I think it could've tasted better if it was just the Seoul Sauce. Great meal size, finished the whole tray and felt satisfied- not hungry or overly full. Inside was also super aesthetic!

I like the open café-like feel of the restaurant. however, I think that they have two few condiment choices. For a place that serves fries, I think they should definitely have ketchup at least. There was also this 10 gallon soy sauce dispenser with a really loose control valve by the utensils, I just thought it was kind of strange. The amount of food for the prices are really really good value in my opinion. And I like the concept of the Korean Mexican mix.

The nachos with queso I strongly recommend. I also had the gobbi something (limited time), it was ok. I was driving through town and found this spot. I would recommend. U get allot.

We challenged our nephew to take us to a fun and different restaurant of his choosing in St Louis. To his credit, he selected Seoul Taco! Nice! Founded by David Choi, this place serves Korean Mexican food that is both unique and fun! Our bulgogi nachos with cheese, black sesame seeds, kimchi and scallions were possibly the best nachos we have ever had! Zowie! Taste explosion! We also enjoyed the burritos which were pretty huge and way more tasty than any competitor's burrito. Service was friendly and professional and parking was a snap, right across the street! We look forward to returning! Life is good with Korean nachos!

    OG Kimchi Tofu 3 Tacos
    Alena B.

I really liked this place. I happened to be walking around in the area and it caught my eye. I guess I would describe it as an Asian spin on Mexican food but authentic and one of a kind. I ordered the taco plate with tofu and the OG kimchi, one of their staple dishes. The cashier was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in explaining what everything was and offering suggestions for what I should get. The atmosphere has a cute naturesque vibe to it. I'm sure it's really packed in the summer. I believe they may have outside seating as well but don't quote me on that. The food also came out fast and they were slammed with to go orders and people who were dining in. Loved every bit of my time here. Would definitely come back and try other things on their menu.

My husband and I have been here a number of times, we've brought our (adult) daughters and their partners, out of town visitors, and we've recommended it to friends. Some of our friends went on our recommendation and enjoyed it. Again, I have to say that we love the vibe, the staff, and the food - probably equally! We sat out on the covered patio last night. It was pretty hot out, but the cover and the fans made it feel okay out there. We ran into neighbors as we were leaving. It's about 35 minutes from our house and we have never seen anyone we know there. They were enjoying it as well! The only negative I can think of is the restroom situation. There is one restroom with one toilet - plan ahead! There's usually a line. We'll definitely be back!

It's not authentic guac with chunks of guac, instead it was creamy and didn't have a clumps of avocado or flavor. It was more of a blended consistency with just a smashed avocado flavor. The chips were awesome! I ordered the mahi-mahi tacos. The first one that was brought to the table was fried so well done the fish inside was rubbery and dry, and the outer coating was black. My waiter apologized, visually confirmed that the dish was not right, took the dish and 5-10 minutes later brought out the same dish, assuming this one would be better. It wasn't. The fish was overwhelmingly fishy smelling, dry and overall, I felt like I would've had a better meal at McDonalds ordering their Filet o' fish. Ugh! The waiter took the one bite eaten from the taco dish and removed it from the ticket. He asked if he could bring me something else, but so much time had passed between the last 2 mix-ups that for me to order anything to replace the meal, my party would've left me at the table so I just had chips for dinner. Where I see an issue, is one would think a manager would've come over apologizing, or something. Yet, I felt like the bad guy sent to her room with no dinner. When the bill came, the waiter, what I feel like intentionally put the bill directly in front of another person from our party rather than in the center of the table. Probably because that person loved his meal... A person in my party got the 3 taco dinner- only ate one taco. Packaged up the other two tacos. I paid, tipped 20% assuming it wasn't the waiter's fault. And we walked out. We got to the front door, the person in my party that had boxed up the 2 tacos realized she left her box at the table, turned around 1-2 minutes after leaving, went back to the table and our waiter said he threw away the box! It wasn't busy ... I understand wanting to clean a table, but there should be some protocol of if this happens, maybe the bussers have x number of minutes before they throw away a meal that someone intentionally boxed up to take home. So -2 stars- I won't go back but if you try this place you might get something delish. My hope is you fall on the positive side of these reviews.

It's been a few weeks since I had any pocket cash to go out to eat... so I decided to pick a food…read moresource at random for a Saturday afternoon, and I'm SO GLAD I did... You know how they say one of the best things about Mexico is the food? I have to admit, I would honestly wouldn't know and just have to trust the stories I've heard, as I've never been lucky enough to go to Mexico.... But all my life I've heard stories about people who go and basically remind you.. NEVER hit a restaurant for _authentic_ Mexican food. You want to hit the street vendors. Well, St. Louis has a fantastic surprise.. Now you can do that right here in the city! Part of a three-restaurant set up, Amigo Sole is the "street vendor" restaurant that's not on the street. (And having met the owner of the full set-up, I'm REALLY hoping i get invited to the grand opening of Jekyll & Hyde) As it was middle of the day Saturday, I didn't ask for anything alcoholic (so i don't know if the reviewer that asked for alcoholic beverages and was told they didn't have any was just unlucky or if it was true.) But I'll take a Mexican Coke over American Coke any day of the week (NO, get your minds out of the gutter.. not that powdered one!). Anyway, I went simple for a quick stop, and went with the Chicken Bomb. at the recommendation of the cashier and he was quick to name this one off.. (and always remember cashiers, have a favorite READY, so thumbs up to the cashier on this one!) . And then to my amazement.. no more than 5 minutes later, HOT, tasty, cheesy, chicken quesadilla style BOMB-diggity! (Ironically this one is not listed on the website menu, only the instore menu? Come on Sole, online is everything today :) ) Absolutely delicious food.. and absolutely messy too, as it literally would fall apart in my hands.. (HEY, that's a good thing!) As for the decor.. 100% true, as Amigo Sole definitely has SOUL! (and lots of soles!). Again Amigo Sole isn't designed to be a 'great sit down' restaurant, it's designed to be street-vendor FUN!!!! and with what decoration they have, it pulls it off fantastically in my opinion. So just based on my meal, what the owner told me about the Amigo Sole, you're getting EXACTLY what you're promised a Mexican street vendor serving fantastic Mexican street vendor food, only with a roof over your head the entire time. During the meal, met again (Who i believe to be) the owner of the store and talked with him about Amigo Sole and how amazing it was to me... and he told me about the three-restaurant combination. (And I apologize sir, but I completely forgot your name when we talked!). even mentioning they share three kitchens when it gets busy (so I was kinda lucky as i think the rain scared everyone out for the day), but I'm still hoping for the Jeckyll & Hyde invitation! (I'll even pretend to find a date if I have to for the upscale part!)
