I visited the store at Santana Row for the first time in a while and they've done a beautiful job of adhering to the COVID restrictions while creating an amazing shopping experience. I came in on a Saturday and there was already a line to get in. After a short wait, I was paired up with Kimberly and she helped me find the 5 items that I was looking for in record time. Kimberly was so personable and patient! She knew the store's inventory and product lines and helped me find the cruelty-free, vegan brands that I love, plus a few gifts my by sister's bday. Had a great experience tonight. The whole team, but especially Sam was amazing! She helped me find exactly what I needed, and what I didn't know I needed. She dropped everything she was doing to help me, asked me a ton of questions, and made great recommendations on what I needed. At one point I felt confused by all of the different directions her suggestions were going-but at the end she zeroed in on exactly what would be best for me and I purchased everything. Nick from fragrance was super nice, had great energy. I came in 30 minutes before closing, and they helped me like they had all the time in the world. They took my items inside but wouldn't let me in the store . I paid with PayPal and they would only give me a gift card ! I offered to give the cashier my bank card linked to PayPal. So last time I came here I received no customer service at all and everybody would ignore you, until two days ago. I'm always struggling with finding my correct shade and everyone would tell me I have a yellow undertone or that I look darker than pale, and everything they would give me would not work out and I am sick and tired of returning items and getting a different color to try on. So I was looking around and Jasmin came up to me and asked if I was doing ok and I told her about how I can not find the correct shade and I told her I have combination skin. She did many swatches but they were all not good at all and she even told me straight out that she did not liked them. And I believed jasmin because I saw it in front of my eyes. So jasmin decides to do the color IQ. HOW COME NOBODY TOLD ME TO TAKE THE COLOR IQ BEFORE! When I went to oak ridge recently I did asked to take the color IQ but everyone's response was it is not accurate.... that's bs. So after taking the color IQ we found my perfect match and concealer with my product for me to exchange my current foundation. I really enjoyed going in to this sephora! I usually stay away from places like this because I've had bad experiences in the past but today was amazing. I needed to pick out a bunch of skincare products to create a new skincare routine for my oily skin. Samantha was the girl in the skin care section of the store and she was absolutely amazing! Super sweet and she was really knowledgeable and gave a lot of advice and a lot of recommendations. I wanted products that were all natural without harsh chemicals and she found me perfect items! (I'm writing this after using the routine for the first time) my skin feels so soft and hydrated and looks so fresh. She helped me pick out the Glow Recipe blueberry bounce gentle cleanser, Glow recipe Watermelon glow toner, the Herbivore Bakuchiol smoothing serum and the youth to the people adaptogen deep moisture cream. I love how she helped tailor what products to buy to exactly the concerns I had about my skin! Also gave me testers of things I didn't buy for me to try out at home to see if I liked it! I love this store but man does it have problems with management. Angelica, a manager is so unprofessional! I overheard her talking to an employee in such a degrading tone! She sounded like a true bully that never grew up. Leaders do NOT lead by bullying. They lead by example and by exemplifying professionalism and respect. I felt so bad for the employee. Angelica has so much attitude and I wouldn't stand working in such an environment for more than a few hours if I had to tolerate this kind of treatment. The other day, I was just testing some olive scented lipstick. The flavor sent me into overdrive, and I just had to take a bite. Yet once I did, I immediately regretted it. I love coming to this location because it's right across Urban Outfitters and H&M. Today I came in looking for some kind of face powder, although I love makeup, I can admit that I do not know too much about it. Usually when I go into makeup stores I feel like a bother, or like the staff is just putting on a smile just because they have to. When I went in today I was helped by Mary, I think that was her name. Black hair and makeup so on point. She helped match me to a powder I can use over my foundation that wouldn't dry out my already dry skin. She color matched me to the laura mercier smooth finish foundation powder. Bright, open, and roomy for the space. Not a huge Sephora, but the place is nice and bright and plenty of variety. ABH, Tatcha, KVD, etc. Tons of brands to choose from. Customer service can be spotty. Sometimes I go in and am helped right away and if I need a sample it is a great size and they have what I need and the line is never to bad. Most of the time, however, there is no one to greet at the door, they are out of what I want, understaffed, and I ask for a sample and they give me enough for half an application. Personally, I use this as a secondary store if they don't have what I want at the VF location. I suggest you call ahead if you are looking for something in particular. I have gone in on numerous occasions when it shows an item in stock online at this store, and they do not actually have it. Park at one of the free garages around the corner. Lots of other places to stop in at around as well. I will always go into a Sephora and buy something. Because I always need something. But the level of cs can definitely vary from store to store, time of day to another. read more

I mainly shop Sephora online so it was great seeing all the Beauty products in person . Also fun to see the beautiful "cast members" wearing fun makeup like the new Fenty Trophy Wife highlighter . I absolutely love coming into this store. Unlike the stores in the mall, this location doesn't seem to get as crowded and hectic as the other ones. I can actually really take my time to look at everything instead of feeling like I'm at war with other people trying to look at the same thing. All the staff that I have encountered are really friendly as well. I haven't seen SKII carried at other sephora locations, but they sell em here! They have a really good gift set that I think I might get for myself, mom, and bf's mom as well. I'm not sure if sephora does this thing where they target certain customers depending on location, but this store definitely seems to highlight their Asian skincare since they are front and center as you walk in. Maybe I just haven't visited other locations as much, but anyway, I'm not complaining because I love Asian skincare! This is a fresh and brand spankin' new Sephora in San Jose. It's more spread out than the Sephora in Valley Fair, which is right across the street. The employees at this one are especially very nice. I was able to find the liquid lipstick that I was looking for with ease, as well as the brush cleaner I needed. I also got some recommendations on facial masks which was great! I took home some glam glow mask samples (moisturizing and firming). If you needed to go to Sephora and you were in the area, I'd definitely recommend coming to this location rather than the Valley Fair one any day. read more

I really wanted to find a new everyday look and I was greeted by Kimberly who assisted me with finding a foundation and concealer that blended in really well with my skin. Simply just had an enjoyable experience at this location today. I am not a super dedicated crazy Black Friday shopper, but after receiving the email blast Sephora sent out yesterday advertising their specials, I had my eye on a few things. I totally respected and appreciated that they opened at 9 am - so their employees at least had an opportunity to enjoy the morning - and though I was there when they opened their doors a few minutes early, I was in and out in 5 minutes. The staff was super helpful in assisting me with the things I was looking for and checkout was a breeze. The store is relatively small compared to other Sephoras you may have been to, but when their product mix is just right and displayed so cleanly, who really cares? Definitely impressed with my trip to this new location, so I'll plan to come back when I need new goodies. read more
