Here's an update...while the packing was terrific, the rest was terrible. The furniture arrived 30 days late which was not only inconvenient but extremely costly. Furthermore, some items were missing and others broken. The facility only accepts delivery M-F 9-4 and of course the truck came on Sat at 3:30PM. They wanted to unload in the lobby and leave. It was all very stressful and Seventh Generation was a poor communicator throughout the entire process. I would not recommend them. read more

I'm a disabled veteran who hired this company to move my stuff from Los Angeles to Rio Linda Ca. I told them everything I had to pick up and move and was given one price to move. However, once they got to my place , the price went from $3000 to $6500 to $6900 which is bait and switch and we had already given our notice to move so we were stuck. We told them every step we need to change everything and they said ok until they dropped our stuff off and then demanded cash before they would release our items. once again bait and switch. To add to this, the people who delivered my stuff spoke very, very, very, little english ...very little. How do you communicate what's going on to people if you don't speak English? My side table was broken and the movers tried to hide it in one of my rooms without telling us. As if we wouldn't check. I got ready to sign the paperwork and said "What about the broken side table and they said "Oh right, let me put that down"They still have refused to pay for it and I've contacted them several times. I used seventh gen as a reference from my building manager and I think they did a really good job proving why my large apartment complex refers us tenants to them first. They used carpet runners on both locations of my move to make sure no dirt was tracked into my new place so that was a plus. They only took 5 hours to move my heavy furniture and pack up some of my kitchen. Good experience overall. Great price. read more

The customer service for this company is horrendous! I was given a 4 hour window for them to show, (between 8-12) and received zero phone calls to inform me they would be running late. 2 and a half hours late. I had to call customer service TWICE to finally get a courtesy call & was then told they would be here 30-40 minutes. They then showed up & proceeded to talk in circles & do anything but move my stuff which was packed in a 10x10 Uhaul truck. One of the two guys they sent to move my truck looked to be a teenager with a broken right arm/wrist. He referred to my things as "trash". All he wanted to do was instantly charge me more money. He repeated himself constantly, offered no real assistance. I called customer service for the company that I dealt with that hired these jokers. They were closed for the night. I asked to speak to the manager of the movers and was given a number to "Bryan" who when asked, told me he is a co-worker. When I asked for a manager, he suddenly became a manager too. He was so rude, talked over me, talked down to me, also spoke in circles and was actually worse to deal with than the broken arm kid. The other mover spoke zero English. I received no apologies, no compensation & no understanding for the inconvenience I was experiencing. I had friends who drove 3 hours to visit with me before I moved out of state that I could not visit with because of the amount of time it took for these guys to load 400 cubic feet of items. They made me sign two different "guesstimates" for still, I have no idea what. I was railroaded for money when I had no other alternative to pay since I was on a time frame to get to my new out of state residence to get my child enrolled in school. It was the worst moving experience ever that caused much unneeded stress! I had to wait for them to finish so I could return the Uhaul & they took their sweet time. We needed to move from simi valley to Granada hills and Brian helped us with the planning and sorting out of our quote almost exactly to the detail minus my mistake of leaving out the wrong order of items for one of the bedrooms, they were still able to fit it all in 1 truck and do the job in less than 7 hours although we knew we would get past the 3 hour minimum. These guys are pretty darn good. It's Saturday morning and the movers I book text me at 6AM informing me they would need to push back our appointment from 8AM to 2PM. Then at 2PM I get a call informing me the movers will not make it. What do I do then? I jump on Yelp and start messaging every moving company I could find. Fortunately, Seventh Generation was available. I spoke to them through Yelp and booked their services by about 2:30PM-3:00PM. They arrived at 3:30PM with their truck and 3 movers. Jeez, talk about a fast response time... Price - Very fair. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. Service - Their lead mover (I think) walked through the apartment and we discussed what was to be moved and what wasn't. Super nice. Easy communication. They start and wow, these guys don't stop. I was a bit concerned these guys may move slow in an effort to run up the bill. Not the case at all. If anything, I felt bad that they were working so hard. They worked hard/quickly while always maintaining a very pleasant demeanor. This left me with no choice but to tip them well. Especially since we didn't finish the move till about 11PM. Its important to note that they packed/wrapped everything incredibly well. Not a single item was damaged... until I got I got to them... Would I use them again? Absolutely. I would rate them a zero if that was an option! They are a scam...they will nickel and dime you! I had to re-route the moving company to a storage unit. I spoke with the office management several times and not once did they mention that I needed to be sure the facility would allow for a semi-truck. Once they arrived, I was told it would cost me an additional $75 per every 75 feet to hall everything from the truck to the unit costing me another $300. Plus I paid for "white glove" service which of course I didn't receive moving into a storage unit. Make sure to read the fine print, because this company will be happy to charge you more! Do NOT use this moving company. I used a 3rd party and was told everything I wanted to hear to book my move with Amerisafe with Conor and was contracted with 7th generation moving company. Conor set little to no expectations and failed to provide all the fees and service charges that was included in the move. He lied multiple times. Do NOT be fooled by the price. The representatives from 7th generation moving company customer service (ext 1) and dispatch (ext 3) was little to no help as when you are connected with different people, they will share with you different information (most likely made up on the spot) to get you off the phone. I was told I would get a call back multiple times with no reply. Was also told I'd get my items within 7-10 days after pickup, then this turned into 7-10 days after the 'first available delivery date', and then 14-21 days after the first available delivery date. I ended up waiting around 25 days after my pickup in Corona. Since then, Conor and their immediate associates were let go for reasons such as these I assume. Went through a broker, Safe Move relocation they sent this company, well the broker was wrong on our estimate so Seven Generation added another 1900 on bothe ends, charged us a 600.00 large item fee to not stack on, well that didn't work out. They loaded 2 trucks, asked when I could receive the load, this was Sunday, I said Wednesday should give us enough time to get there, all the preparation of the furniture looked good, at some point the transferred one of my trucks on a semi, it looks like they just threw everything from one truck to the next, so much damage, it was hard to believe that they treated my things like that, so Wednesday I hadn't heard anything from anyone yet, I called twice with no return call, well the trucks finally came 10 days after they picked up our stuff, some communication would have been nice, the guys that transferred my stuff from 1 truck to the next should be fired. Firstly, DO use companies like mypieceofcakemove.com. You may pay a little more, but guarantee your items will be safe and preserved. Also, check their reviews and I regret not using them in the first place. Seventh Generation has a (mafia style) set-up where they turn up on the day of your move only to hold you to ransom and claim additional space is needed so try to bump you an extra few thousand dollars. Their communication was awful but worse, they completely wrecked our items and make you sign a waiver to limit claims against them. This company has no regard for your items and is simply there to shaft you over. Avoid this company at all costs...you'll thank me for this (and others who have experienced them). read more

Horrible service. Having made no less than 9 cross country and international moves, this was by far the worst of all. Very poor communication. Damage came from items this company packed, moved and unpacked where everything we packed was fine. Very poor and rude communication throughout the process. When paying per contract, the company refused to issue a receipt of any kind. At the delivery, there was no oversight by the company or driver comparing what was delivered vs. the BOL, none. When we started to unload the trailer, it was clear that some of our furniture was "unpacked" in order to put items inside cabinets causing damage to our furniture just tossed in to the container without the original packing. When the driver arrived there were only two workers to unload, eventually getting to 4, but the entire time the driver was pressuring them to hurry up. Very little unpacking was done. Additionally, several heavy boxes were dropped on our tile floors causing broken tiles. Finally, the driver was not going to pay the workers hired to unload causing an issue on my front lawn. First, I need to say that I booked through a broker, and they share a bit of blame for the bad estimate. HOWEVER, 7th Generation obviously did not communicate with the broker that hired them because when they arrived, they told me that the actual move cost would be $10,000 more than my quote. It was moving day, I had no other choice but to borrow the money and pay. The movers tried to compact things as well as they could which resulted in me ONLY paying $6,000 more than my quote, however the job was much bigger than they were planning for which resulted in a two day pack, putting me a day behind. The movers on this side had a great attitude, and I might even not be writing this review if things were not so bad on the other side. (Even though it felt like extortion.) I thought that now 7th Generation was clear about the size of the move, and I had certainly paid for it. The driver showed up the morning he was supposed to, but no movers. They finally arrived about 2PM, three guys about 20 years old, and when they saw the job they refused to start until the next morning because it was too much. The next day they worked hard, one literally almost passed out from heat stroke, and because of the lack of people they did not put together the furniture as 7th Generation promised and I paid for. I had to insist that the driver help me get at least 60% of the plastic and moving blankets off and take them in his truck so that they didn't leave all the garbage with me. (He wasn't happy, but he did it.) I had paid for a piano move, but the 3 guys would not move it, so 7th generation found 2 other guys who said they could do it. They showed up with no ramp and no specialized equipment, so I had to help them move the piano in. They could not put the piano back together, so I had to hire someone else to do it. At that point, I was just so thankful we got it in the house without damage. Unfortunately, several other things were damaged. I let them know about three big items, but it's been 19 days since the move, and I have yet to hear from anyone about reimbursement or the results of the insurance claim. They answered me at first, now they are just ignoring my calls and texts. Because they didn't put the furniture back together, we have since discovered two other pieces that were damaged, and we still can't find my son's Playstation VR. At this point though, I'm going to stop wasting any more time and frustration about this move and let it go, but I wouldn't feel right without warning others about my experience first. ADDENDUM: When I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, 7th Generation finally got back to me about filing an "insurance" claim. I did it, and it took about 3 hours to file. They paid by weight, which is insane, so the only things that were eligible to file under their terms were a badly dented washer, a couch with a hole in it from scuffing, and a broken desk. They offered me a whopping $187 for all of them, IF I got it notarized and IF I agree to remove all bad reviews and never tell anyone about my bad experience again. Sorry guys, I'd rather help some other poor schmuck from being a sucker. Now, if you want to talk about a damaged hardwood floor, the extra $6,000 you charged me at the last second, and the real cost of what you damaged, we can talk. read more

Do Not use Seventh Generation Movers. They will most likely give you an estimate that is half the price of other companies, but its a complete lie. I reached out to Sam in sales about 10 times to make sure what we had fit the estimate, she insured me each time that I had nothing to worry about. She even hung up on me while I was in the middle of asking her questions. When the day of our move came the movers showed up and said it would cost us double what they quoted. We were livid. We called their manager Brian (who should be fired for how he spoke to me) and he just threatened that they would just leave and not complete our move if we didn't pay double on the spot. Worst customer service I've ever received. THIS COMPANY IS A COMPLETE SCAM- BEWARE! And then- the kicker. When the truck showed up at our new house at 8PM there was only 1 guy to move all our things (which of course is impossible) so after paying double I had to move my furniture myself. DO NOT BY ANY MEANS RENT FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL! This was by far the worst experience I have had to date. I did not know this company (Seventh Generation) would be assigned my contract until it was too late and I had paid who I thought was the moving company but actually a broker (Nationwide Moving Solutions) a deposit. If I had known and seen these reviews, I would've taken my business elsewhere. When the movers came to my home, (all my items save for my bedframe, a small armchair, coffee table and two storage bins, fit in one single bedroom). They took one look and immediately decided it would cost way more. I asked how did they know, they stated the company who hired them knows nothing about moving and you don't know what you'll pay until they tell you. They miswrote information on my inventory list for example calling my small arm chair a "sofa" proceeded to ask me uncomfortable questions about whether or not I live alone and if I'm alone in my city. (They asked this several times in different ways) by the end of the day they padded my invoice with an additional $1,200. They will absolutely scam you out of more money any way they can, including having drivers charge you an obscure additional fee because by some magical shift your items take up more space than what you were told. (They damn near doubled my cubic square footage) if you hired them for cross country be prepared to be told after the fact that they use 18-wheelers and If they don't fit down your street (which essentially guarantees that they won't always fit down your street, even though they will have your address in advance and know whether or not you live in a home or apartment building) they will charge you a "shuttle" fee but was told by a young woman on the phone it's not a flat rate, I was told the driver decides what he will charge me. Then another individual I spoke to calculated what the shuttle fee would be for me and I was told an additional $600. I tried to seek help and work through this amicably before delivery but You can expect to have your phone calls and emails ignored until the last minute. Then bullied into an explanation of your contract the day before delivery. (Literally had someone call me and tell me that I had to pay the amount or there will be a problem) I've already filed with the BBB, the CA Department of Consumer Services, I have contacted the CA Attorney General's office and I will be reaching out to other proper authorities as well to have this organization investigated for false advertising, fraud, and predatory practices. I notified both the broker and the moving company about the inappropriate line of questioning that left me feeling extremely unsafe and did not even get so much as an apology. Go with someone else and do not schedule your moves with a broker. (By the way it appears they had my Google review removed but I refuse to be silenced. I just bought a new house and was going to move myself, until my wife convinced me to hire a mover. I Just used these guys to move into our new home yesterday 4-22,24 Let's start with Vital and Israel who actually did the work. Both of them were great, they busted their butts to get it done as fast as possible and as efficiently as possible. Fast, efficient, careful and great attitude what more could you ask for. When it came time to unload at my new house they were methodical about everything. They way they left all my boxes and random stuff that needs to be unpacked was awesome. Everything was organized as it was unloaded from the truck and put in the different rooms. They didn't just put the boxes in the rooms and leave it, they actually organized the boxes in a way that is going to make unpacking and putting everything away really easy. I would absolutely want these 2 guys to be the ones sent if I ever have to move again. Vital and Israel get 10 stars. As for the 4 star review, I'm leaving that is on the actual company itself. I was quoted $891 for a 6 hour move, and $135 hr over the 6. by Sam from 7th generation. I gave a $100 deposit and the move was scheduled. It wasn't until it was time to pay the balance that i was hit with all the extra fees. They sent a crew down from L.A to do my move in San Diego and then hot me with a 2 hr drive time charge, And an $85 fuel surcharge. So I'm hit with an extra $355 because they dispatched a crew from so far away. Had it not been for the BS extra charges I would have given a full 5 star rating. 1/13/24 AWFUL and HORRIBLE We were going to pay the bill when the Seventh Generation movers finished loading the furniture. We were told by the mover who picked up the furniture that we could pay by credit card for the pick up service but we would have to pay the remainder of the bill by Zelle or with a Cashier's Check for the remainder of the move upon arrival and delivery. We agreed to pay by Zelle the remaining portion of the bill. When we were ready to pay the charge by credit card for the pick up of the furniture they told us we could not pay by credit card. When we told them that we had never been notified we couldn't pay by credit card the agent on the phone told us I'm telling you now. The agent on the phone said they may keep our furniture for up to 30 days if we continue to insist on paying by credit card for the pick up services only. He also said he doesn't have to accept our credit card payment because he felt I was going to reverse the charge on the credit. WE ARE WILLING TO PAY THE PORTION OF THE BILL FOR THE PICK UP OF OUR FURNITURE AS WE WERE TOLD WE COULD DO BUT THEY CHANGED THE RULES AND NOW SAID IT ALL MUST BE PAID BY ZELLE OR CASHIERS CHECK OR THEY WILL KEEP OUR FURNTIURE. When my wife called asking for an update the employee Erik didn't know where exactly the load was. My wife said this is unacceptable since the move was only a nine hour move. Erik proceeded to raise his voice at my wife. There is no excuse Erik can come up with for why this is taking so long for the company should've planned the deliveries better. He said he would give us an update, but I don't expect it at this point. Rude and incompetent staff. If you hire this company expect to pay 2-3k over the initial estimate. Beware!!! I did not select this company -- I was outsourced from Allegiance Moving, which turned out to be a broker who only cared about getting the booking. I wished I had checked the reviews before I proceeded with the move! There are consistently horrible complaints of malicious and egregious damage and loss as well as grossly overcharging beyond their quoted estimates! This may be an industrywide problem -- the mover who picked up my property said "you know how moving companies work, right?" before telling me I had to pay thousands additional after they had taken all my property. My move with Seventh Generation was 11/19/2023. I wanted to make sure I had a specific delivery date since the building required me to reserve the elevator. They completely disregarded this and showed up whenever they wanted -- and when I could not be there to check my property. Every piece of furniture arrived with severe damages. Every box, including the ones marked "FRAGILE" was crushed beyond recognition. I was told to file a claim with Anthem Claim Management. This company is a front for unscrupulous moving companies whose sole purpose is to limit claims against them. They offered $78 for the extensive and malicious damages but only if I signed and paid to notarize a release stating I was completely satisfied with the outcome! It is a win-win for them -- either way they pay next to nothing for the outrageous behavior of the moving company! I will never again use a moving company as the industry is so rife with corruption and fraud. My parents are 80 years old and had 30 years worth of stuff packed and ready to do and were told pay 3k more or they would leave. I used these guys twice, first time I had to move all my stuff to a storage facility since my new home wasn't ready and did not want to renew my lease for 1 year. They packaged my tv's and computer monitors up really nice and did an excellent job. Their prices are up front and what they charge for materials is actually cheaper than if you would to buy the same supplies at home depot. Antonio in particular was a great person to communicate with, he was very clear on how the whole process would work and also explained to me very clearly on how much everything would end up costing me. His estimate versus how much I actually paid was within a hundred bucks. Although one of my boxes went missing I'm sure it's something stupid I did since who the hell is going to steal a box filled with used boxers!! They were on time, had the most friendly and positive demeanor. They kept me laughing and feeling at ease through the move! Everything got done under two hours. Seventh Generation was subcontracted through Allegiance Moving Co. The process through Allegiance was professional and customer service friendly. I felt like a valued customer. I wasn't aware that the move was being subcontracted out, so I made my money order out to Allegiance. The movers of Seventh Generation waited patiently after packing up my home for me to go back to the Post Office and retrieve a new money order. I was told by Allegiance that I will receive a call when my items arrived in state and then I can give the movers my new address. I waited 21 days, I called SG, and spoke to the rudest person. His tone was aggressive and I asked him, "why was he speaking to me as if I did something wrong by calling and asking where my things would be here." There was a miss communication between Allegiance and I, that SG does not have in their contract. Even if it was my misunderstanding it could have been explained to me professionally with a courteous tone. I believe it was Brian I spoke to. After the ordeal was rectified. I was told by Brian that they had 21 days from a date to deliver my things. A week later someone else called, a very nice gentleman to confirm the address and let me know I had 2-3 weeks and my items will be on the way. The polite gentleman also mentioned they as in SG will give me 24 hours or more as notification of drop off. As I explained to him and Brian I needed the notification because I had to ask for time off work. The gentleman said, no problem they understand, he went in and gave me explanation on how they worked with another mover to accommodate their move. One week passed and I didn't hear from SG, I didn't expect too because the time-line was 2 -3 weeks out. As Iwa boarding a plane SG Brian calls and tells me my items will be there Saturday-Monday. I explained to him I was leaving town, he told me if I don't get my things that weekend he can't quarteantee when I would receive them again. It could be weeks or month out and I will be charged. It wasn't what he said, it was how he said it. I wasn't speaking to him in a harsh tone or yelling or being rude. I was being extra polite because they have my things, it's like being nice to the nastiness waiter because you don't want them to spit in your food. I exited the airport went home. I called SG back 10xs or more before they answered to confirm I will be home to receive my belongings. I was given a text message of 8-11am on Saturday. They came late, with an apology and great customer service. I don't recommend SG if you have to deal with calling into the office with questions and concerns. The movers, the ones who do the heavy lifting where nice, polite and professional. I do not know if I received all of my things because I wasn't able to use their check list to check all the boxes. It has been 6 days since I received my items and I still looking for things. I would have liked them to have allowed me to check things off. I recommend numbering all your items yourself to have a count. When they deliver, you will know if you have everything. The movers had great customer service, polite and communicated what they will do and explained the moving process. Office staff; abrupt, defensive and short tempered. I did not feel like a valued customer. I had questions because it was my first time ever using a moving service, he wasn't with me asking questions. Do NOT use this company. This was my fourth long distance move and I've never had one single problem until this time. Movers were to pack items separately, some for storage and some to my temporary home. Every drawer, shelf, cupboard and large item was tagged and color coded so the packers would know which items were to be packed together. They ignored (or didn't understand) these instructions and packed the entire kitchen in the same boxes. So I have two complete sets of dishes and silverware in a tiny apartment. And remote controls were not packed with their corresponding items, they were put in storage. So I have televisions and and adjustable bed that I had to purchase new remotes. As for the closets, clothing was wadded up and stuffed into the bottom of the wardrobe boxes, with only a few items hanging on the rods; 2/3 of the clothing had to be re-laundered. On the other hand, every single pair of shoes was put into storage. I phoned Antonio to express my disappointment, and he actually said to me "you are a liar", three times. He was so mean and vicious that he actually made me cry. He said he had proof and sent me photos of the inside of the bathroom drawers .. not the areas that were a problem. read more
