Top-tier ALL YOU CAN EAT hot pot in the South Bay! Super fresh, clean, and great value. Why It's Great: 1. Quality Meats: Premium, tender cuts like Beef Toro and Prime Blade. 2. Individual Pots: Great broths (Spicy Miso and Tonkotsu are ) so everyone gets their own. 3. Fresh Station & Sides: Clean self-serve bar for veggies, sauces, and hot appetizers like chicken karaage. 4. Quick Service: Tablet ordering keeps the food coming fast. 5. Bar inside for drinks on tap **Tip: Join the Yelp waitlist online before heading over bc it fills up fast on weekends!**

Solid AYCE hot pot! I've been here multiple times and always leave satisfied. They have a fine selection of soup bases, appetizers, and raw meats to order. Then a grab-and-go seafood, veggie and sauce bar. My go-to order is always the Original soup base, chicken karaage appetizer, with toro and ramen. You can walk-in or waitlist on yelp. The restaurant is big with a lot of seating. Weekdays are usually semi-busy while weekends are always packed with a wait time. Even on busy days we were able to find parking.

Cool spot for AYCE hot pot! Checking in is easy, you can join the waitlist online or in person. Once you're notified, you're seated quickly. The server takes drink and broth orders and lets you know you've got 90 minutes to enjoy your meal. You can order two apps and six meats at a time, either through the tablet at the table or directly with your server. Choose your broth, and they'll bring it out and pour it into your pot. Veggies, noodles, and sauces are all self‑serve, and there's a huge selection. There's a sign about an upcharge for seafood, but we weren't charged. The gyozas were our favorite appetizer, and the spicy chicken was solid too. The only downside was the cleanup process. The staff clearing tables were slamming plates into bins, creating a lot of noise -- especially when they were right next to us. Definitely something they should improve.

Whenever we want hot pot, this is our go to place! Place is clean and they have a good selection of veggies to choose from. Also like their sauce bar - it is simpler than other places but their sauces taste better! The beef toro meat is always our favorite and then we rotate between meats 1, 4 and 8! Soy glazed karaage and potstickers are a must!

Food here is mediocre. Not too much to choose from on all fronts. For appetizers, only one type of chicken in 3 different flavors. No desserts. Sauce station was bare minimum. Meat selection was not great. Not sure how this place passes inspection. Imagine eating right under these nasty dirty conditions. See photos.

Tonkotsu, Spicy miso, and Original House soup. Beef toro, pork belly, Prime Flat Iron Steak. Gyoza and soy glazed chicken karaage.

I came to have dinner for a friend's belated birthday celebration. You will only get seated when all of your party is here and you can only sit for 90 minutes. This is an all you can eat place. I got the Original House broth. My stove gas took awhile to boil the soup for some reason as rest of my party had their pot all ready boiled. This happened to me at one other time when I came here and not sure why. Other than waiting longer than expected for my broth soup to boil in order to put ingredients in to cook, everything else was fine. Service was nice. I like the thin slices of meat to cook in the broth soup.

10/10 experience. Shabuya is a go-to hot pot place for me. This was my boyfriend and I's first time at this location. We actually prefer this location! There's a good amount of places to park. This location is so much more spacious compared to their Concord one. We were greeted kindly after walking in and were seated immediately. Our server Barrett was on it! Our orders came promptly. There's a huge variety of sides to choose from and a make-your-own-sauce station. Meat quality was great! To note, they have a clean lavatory.

I grew up coming to Shabuya (from when it first opened to now) and this place is still a staple for my family! Meat is cut fresh and the portion sizes for meat were perfect for us. It doesn't seem like a lot on the plate but it adds up! We were a party of 3 and I signed up on the waitlist on Yelp. I love that option since it's always super helpful. Our waiter was Reagan and he was great, he came to check on us often and was attentive and helpful. Food was great, selection is good and had the things I usually eat. For $29.99 this is not bad at all! I will be continuing to come back :)

We love Shabuya, but we usually go to the one in Concord as it's conveniently located in a plaza/mall, but that location gets really busy and there's always a wait. This was our second time at this location and it was on a weekend so I decided to add us to the waitlist, and when we got there, there was no wait. It was a pretty busy day. It's spacious with ample refills throughout the day. The lighting a dim with natural sunlight during the days The soup and options always hit here and it's always bustling with full tables and bellies apparently. My son does not each much as a 9 year old but is tall enough for full price so it's not worth it for him, but we take him anyway because we love it so much. The service was good and the staff there seem to be more friendly than the Concord location. If you have a huge appetite, this is such a great place and the food is so comforting. I also appreciate the sauce bar. Since it's an AYCE, most people are in and out and some stay a while to get their money's worth. Either way, I highly recommend this for hot pot and looking to be a glut for the day. This place is an all around hit for my family and I can't wait to come back.

Weekday lunch price 8/11/2026. $22,99 The service was awesome! Food arrive pretty fast.

price: $30 per person They have a wide variety of sides to choose from with seafood, quail eggs, veggies, noodles etc. The sauce polar was also plentiful as I enjoyed having ponzu sauce and the radish! the meat quality is pretty good and service was really quick on a Saturday night.

Shabuya is one of my favorite places to go for AYCE hotpot! It's always a fun time, and the servers are always a great vibe. Also super easy to join the waitlist, just do it through Yelp but make sure you're within distance! The location itself is pretty big with parking all around. The eating experience involves choosing your broth, meats (up to 8 per round!), and appetizers if you're interested. My boyfriend and I always get chicken and gyoza. You can then get your noodles, veggies, seafood, and sauces from the self serve area in the middle of the restaurant. Pretty easy to navigate, and everything is so yummy! My personal must-gets are the sukiyaki broth, pork belly, glass noodles, and lots of cabbage and mushrooms! Super filling and hearty! They also have fun soju cocktails if you're interested, definitely try out for a fun time!

    Can you post the price?

Hi there, you can find the price here: https://www.shabuyarestaurant.com/milpitas-online

Do they sell their “Goma” dressing? Some restaurants sell their salad dressings so wondering if they sell “Goma” dressings ? If so what size and how much per container? Thx

Hi, unfortunately, we don't sell our dressings at the moment.

Their website says they open at 11:30am on Sunday but the e yelp page says 11:00am? Which is it?

Hi, we open at 11:30 am on Sundays!

I want to have a large party of 20 ppl for a Saturday around 2pm. Are there any reservations required?

Hi there, please send an email to Reggie.guerrero@shabuyarestaurant.com and include tyour name, phone, email, date and time of reservation plus the number of people. Please make sure to also include the location you're wanting to place a reservation…

Do you guys have your own individual pot?

    Yes we do!

Do you guys accept cash as payment?

    Hi there, yes we do!

Is this hot pot only? No kbbq option as well? Trying to look that has both options

Yes, hot pot only. No kbbq options.

Do you offer free birthday person?

Unfortunately, we do not have any promotions for birthdays, but would love to celebrate with you at Shabuya!

    Do you accept reservations?

Yes, we do accept reservations via Yelp waitlist!

Can we bring a birthday cake for party of five?

Absolutely 😀 The Staff are super nice.

How many ounces is each plate of meat for AYCE?

The exact weight of each plate of meat isn't specified on their official menu. However, in shabu-shabu establishments, meat servings typically range from 4 to 8 ounces per plate. For precise information, it's best to contact Shabuya directly or…

I'm planning a 17th birthday here for a friend and I have a couple of questions to ask. Do they take cash or is it credit only? Do you need everyone there to join the waitlist, or can you put your name on the waitlist and the # of the people going?

They accept both cash and credit. You can join the waitlist in advance but your whole party must be present to be seated.

Do they do lunch prices on holidays?

No, holidays are always dinner prices.

Is there private room for group of 10? Or reservation for big group needed?

I've never seen another special room at this restaurant just an open restaurant concept. They can set up the tables for a party of 10.

Can they accommodate a large party of approx 60 guests for a lunch? How much for lunch on a Thursday? Does it include drinks?

They look like they have the space for it. But I have asked and no reservation are taken. Maybe it's different for larger parties.

Do you use meats that are hormone and antibiotic free?

Can you confirm if the miso broth purely vegetarian?

Miso contains fish and so it's not vegetarian. They do have vegetarian broth though!

I have never been to this restaurant. What can one expect? Is the bar still open for seafood and salads? Is their a time limit? Are reservations needed for dinner on Tuesdays or Wednesdays? Is it unlimited proteins?

I believe the self-serving bar is still open. Last time when I was there, which was about 1 month ago, they only allow one person per table to use the bar at any given time. I don't think they take reservations but the place is huge. You add your…

Are you open for lunch on New Year 01/01/2022 (tomorrow)? Thanks.

What Covid-related accommodations are still being made, if any (e.g. open doors/windows, reduced capacity, closed buffet section, etc.)?

I went on New Years Day 2022 and they still require masks, take your temperature before being seated, and require you to sanitize and put on disposable gloves before you help yourself at the buffet.

I didn't know that you could call for a reservation, or get on their waitlist with Yelp. I was going to do my order to go, when I was asked if I wouldn't mind sitting at the bar. Not at all. I was seated right away, and I was helped by Allison, who was also tending bar. She was a very nice lady, and she took very good care of me. The restaurant has. A nautical theme to it. I decided to go with the Cajun chowder, and the softshell crab po' boy. . My food comes quickly, and the order was huge! It was a very good, rich chowder, with just a tiny bit of a "zip" from the Cajun spices. They definitely gave it a good flavor. There were lots of goodies inside. The one thing about the chowder, was they didn't take out the bay leaves, and I did get a couple.. I just put them off to the side. I'm not going to take off a star, because the chowder was so good. Hey, It happens.... The po' boy was huge! The softshell crab was not over breaded. I could taste the crab with no problem, and it was a little bit sweet, a little bit savory, with that wonderful "crabby" flavor. The roll was a soft roll, , but it still held up to the sandwich extremely well The lettuce, and tomato were crisp and fresh . The Cajun fries, had a little bit of a zip to them, but not too much. they came with ketchup, and their house Cajun sauce. I didn't even touch the ketchup. The sandwich already had some Cajun sauce on it, I put a little bit more. The rest, I used to dip the fries. I only made it halfway through the sandwich, and the fries. The rest came back to my room with me for another great meal. I also got another little "tub" of that sauce to take with me. The entire time, Alison was so personable, , we chatted a little bit about this and that... She is definitely an asset to that restaurant. (Tell her boss to give her a raise...:). The price was extremely reasonable for such a wonderful meal, and they also have a military/veterans discount this was such a great meal, I would gladly come back here again. Thank you so very much

Loved the quaint atmo, dark colors with zen vibes and the small space made me feel like I found a gem in an alley in Japan. Unique menu where they'll do a few fried apps, udon soups where they told me the noodles are homemade. And this rice seafood bowl where minced up tuna and other sushi ingredients are all in one bowl. I've had chirashi hundreds of times but I've never had a bowl quite like this...so I had to give it a whirl. Take Bowl ($33/4*) So this gets presented in a very Japanese fashion. On a tray with a decorative ceramic bowl containing the seafood and rice, a matching ceramic bottle of homemade soy sauce, a pickled cabbage side and a nice big wooden spoon. In that bowl is a base of warm plain short grain rice, topped with a generous mound of minced raw tuna, a little snow crab, a few chunks of raw scallop and this particular version has a ton of salmon roe. It is garnished with a small nori sheet, some scallions, pickled ginger and wasabi. So very familiar ingredients if you're a fan of sushi, but the experience is one I can say I've never done. Menu says to first make your own hand roll with that nori sheet, stuff it to your hearts content. Once that's done you can eat the bowl as you wish. Hopefully with a dousing of the soy/wasabi combo as the minced fish is completely plain, no seasoning. I kinda mixed the seafood mixture into the rice a bit, not sure if that's the move. Now here's my take on this new way to eat sushi ingredients. I liked it but I didn't love it. I think I would much rather just eat a chirashi or a tartare prep from a sushi chef, as those have texture and flavor added by a chef. Here you have to do everything yourself and often there can be a learning curve to the new experience. Like I had to add the soy/wasabi mix several times, as I just couldn't figure out the right amount as their soy sauce is much less salty than commercial versions. And I was too concerned on not going overboard and ruining my bowl, so I was doing it in a very cautious but cumbersome manner. Also since everything was so minced up, the overall texture is very one note, soft and mushy. At least with a chirashi you can sense each fish's firmness and unique texture. Here the chopped tuna, chopped scallop and shredded crab are all soft, and with the soft rice, was just a mush fest for me. There were small hunks of cucumber and pickled lotus root that gave little hits of crunch, but still not enough for me. I will say the seafood is very fresh and in good portioning. Fried Squid Legs ($4.50/4*) Very small skewer of trimmed up calamari tentacles fried tempura style. The fry is very light. The tentacles remain quite tender yet with a slight chew. But the crispness was minimized by the light fry. Still decent with the cold seafood bowl, to go back and forth on the bites. I'd still come back to try those homemade udon noodles, now that I've knocked out their seafood bowl. Give me an adventure and I'll delve right in. Thanks Yaichi for providing such an adventure.

He's the assistant manager and was incredibly polite and informative and gave me lots of information. I ended up making the reservation and then calling later to confirm and altered a bit. I then changed it to 16 but in the end we were 13. We sat outside which was a pleasure. Loved that they were able to keep us to one table too. Many in our large party were locals and raved about the place. We ordered the two big seafood platters and coconut shrimp for the table to start. The local person who ordered extra shrimp said they are the best he's ever had. They were good!! Everything on the big platters went! I had a salad and then the salmon and was extremely pleased with my meal. We ordered wine for the table and they were great about refilling the glasses and keeping up on ordered drinks and water refills. Two people ordered the mocktail and loved it. My only constructive criticism would be to keep up on clearing dirty plates. The dirty appetizer plates were still there on the table during dessert. Even with my not-so-subtle trying to hand them to the waiter. I would eat here again.

After today's visit, though... I finally understand why the second location closed. Ordered: Shackie's Sauce (Hot) Shrimp & Mussels Combo Snow Crab Clusters Garlic Noodles Garlic Fries The seafood boil was nowhere near the quality it used to be. The corn tasted old, the shrimp and snow crab didn't taste fresh, and the snow crab clusters had barely any meat. By the time I cracked everything open, it felt like there was more shell than seafood. The mussel shells even had barnacles on them, which I've never seen here before. It made the seafood feel like it hadn't been cleaned as well as it should have. The garlic fries were crispy, but that's it. It was weird--I could see the garlic and was literally eating it, yet there was no garlic flavor. The garlic noodles used to be one of my favorite items because they were bold and packed with garlic. Now they've definitely toned the flavor down, and they're just not the same anymore. It's honestly disappointing because this place used to be one of my favorite seafood spots. The food quality has clearly declined while the prices have continued to go up. I hope they can get back to what made this place so good, but based on today's experience, I can't recommend it anymore.

This time we ordered combo #3 with the snow crab legs and 2 lbs of shrimp, and 1 lb of mussel. They were out of clams but it was okay. The sauce and the flavor were superb and everything was cooked to perfection in the kickin sauce, mild. My friend whose favorite is boiling crab, really liked this place. Staff actually came around to check on us and to refill our waters. It's been pretty slow every time I come in here but there's plenty of tables to choose from and sit at. They still play some really good music and it's a vibe. Still one of my all time favorite places to eat.

Unfortunately, today's experience was nowhere near what we remembered. We ordered a pound of king crab, snow crab & shrimp, and snow crab with Cajun fries -- definitely not a cheap order. We were also told we couldn't order or pay over the phone because of the cost, which was already a little frustrating. But the food was the real disappointment. The sauce was extremely watered down, to the point that the seasoning wouldn't even stick to the shrimp, crab, potatoes, or corn. The crab itself was flimsy and somehow tasted dry like it wasn't fresh, and several of the claws had little to no meat in them. Being a pescatarian, and I can honestly say I've never thrown away a pound of king crab until today. For what king crab costs, that says everything. We used to love this place, which is why this experience was especially disappointing.
