Beautiful interior! I went at a recommendation online. If I lived closer, I'd love to sit and work in the peaceful, modern ambiance. I got the pistachio frappe and wanted a crossoint too, but two small items at a cafe for $18 was more than I could justify. The $9 frappe was good, but tiny and not quite the value I'd repeat order. I'm sure the other menu items are good too, albeit pricy!

Delicious coffee and pastries! I had the Karak coffee, it was on point and Pistachio Croissant had a sweet, creamy pistachio filling. Nice ambiance and plenty of seating.

I got the Biscoff croffle and I also got a Mexican latte and both were so good. I felt like I ate the Craffle so fast because it was so good. I felt like these kind of desserts you only get in Europe, so it was very nice to see that these existed near my house. It was a very cute coffee shop and it was really quiet and there's so much seating in there. I've been here a few times now to meet friends and it's a really nice place to come even to study because it's so quiet. The service is also very good. They always have something free whether that be samples or dates during Ramadan

This cute cafe is located in Halstead Square in Fairfax, near the Mosaic District and Dunn Loring Station. They have a great selection of lattes and desserts to choose from. I ordered the pistachio latte . it was sweet with a subtle nutty flavor My friend got the Nutella croffle and a date latte, and she enjoyed both. There's street parking and a garage nearby, which makes it easy to visit. Prices are a bit on the higher side for the portion sizes, but the cafe is clean and inviting.

    Brownie Frappe and Lotus Frappe

First of all, I absolutely love the aesthetic in the cafe, it feels very chill and a good place to catch up with friends. There is plenty of seating available too! We ordered on the kiosk, and got our drinks probably after 5 minutes. I loved how the drink came in a soda can, I thought that was really cute. I got the Lotus Frappe and I thought it was pretty good. It was the perfect amount of creaminess, yet I could taste the coffee and the Biscoff sauce inside was yummy. Would definitely visit again if I am in the area!

    African pudding

Come prepared with a sweet tooth, because you're about to consume a lot of sugar! I got the African pudding based on recommendations I saw online and I wasn't sure how sweet it was going to be so I ended up getting karak tea to mitigate some of the sweetness. It paid off because the dessert comes with ice cream and if I had gotten one of the sweet lattes it would have been way too sweet for me. My husband got the shaghf tart and a pistachio latte and they were both individually good, but the tart had a level of sweetness that I couldn't handle. He has a big sweet tooth and enjoyed it. They also have a fruit tart that is not in the display box, I might try that next time and probably pair it with a less sweet drink again. You order up front and they call your name, it was just one person working so things took a while, but it wasn't his fault. The inside decorations were similar to an upscale hotel vibe with Arabic music playing in the background and I really liked it. The seats were also comfortable which was nice.

I've enjoyed all my visits to this Shagf location. The ambiance is a comfortable setting with Earth tones and green plants. The coffee and food is delicious. Shagf Cafe, like its location in Falls Church, specializes in unique, North African and Dubai-inspired flavors. Without customizations or extra shots, the coffee isn't necessarily caffeine-driven, but still delicious. My favorite is the Lotus Latte. The African Pudding is absolutely delicious and served warm. The customer service has always been OK. This location, being newer than the location in Falls Church, has a self-service kiosk for ordering, conspicuous WiFi information, and ample seating. The parking situation is not ideal as the street parking is limited and too competitive, serving multiple businesses on this street. There is parking around the corner, which I have yet to locate, however, it is in the vicinity. NOTE: the adjacent apartment building has conspicuous signage warning against retail parking. The enforcement seems to be pretty serious as there is signage on the Shagf storefront reiterating this. I've encountered a resident who also echoed this warning. Overall, a good experience.

    Shaghf tart
    Justine T.

The Shaghf tart was divine! It was like a warm pecan pie with melted cookie butter on top. It was perfectly sweet and the crumbly texture was great! I also got the white matcha crack, which is supposed to mimic the viral crackle coffee, but mine sadly did not crackle like it's supposed to. I wish the chocolate wasn't hardened at the bottom, but the matcha tasted great and I could tell the ingredients are high-quality. The pistachio latte tasted good, but I didn't care for the large pistachio chunks. Street parking right outside the cafe is hard to find, unless you park at a garage a bit further away. Not a huge issue, but something to keep in mind. The interior was elegant and posh and the service was pretty quick. The prices are a bit steep, but I would come back for the tart and enjoyed my time here!

Intro: So I been on a cafe trend where I have been trying all the middle eastern cafe and this one has been on the list, happy to say it was great! Decor: this the probably the strongest part of this place, it's so warm and comfortable yet trendy. I would come here just to chill and vibe. Food Breakdown: So it's drinks and dessert. Sadly I got here at closing so I didn't get a drink otherwise I would be up for hours Lmaoo. But I got the brownie bites and mannnnn it was so good. Don't get me wrong it's veryyyyy sweet and I am glad I shared it with someone but totally worth the price and would get it again. Portion Size: really happy with this size and price. Especially since after eating it I felt very content. However I do wish they made it little less sweet. Service: nothing bad to say as I ordered on the tablet and they just called my name 5 min later to tell me it's ready. But text notifications system they have is really nice plus. Price: These cafe at typically all priced similarly so I think it's fine. Would I go Back: For sure, I am really excited to try the drinks and love the containers they come in.

The only 2 hot drinks without caffeine: pistachio latte and hot chocolate. Pistachio latte: taste like thick pistachio milk. It does taste authentic and nutty, not like the fake flavored type. Comes out very hot and I did not get the extra hot option. I would get this again although it is pricy. Tiramisu latte: very pretty but very sweet.

Coffee was delightful, I was here for a while studying because they have a lot of seating and outlets available to study at. Cotton candy energy was a redbull with flavoring btw. They were so kind and gave us a free croissant!!!

This place is really so nice! Amazing drinks, delicious snacks and a wonderful ambiance! The service is also incredibly friendly. My only constructive feedback is that the internet is a bit too slow for this to be a remote work spot, but otherwise it's amazing!

Really cool new coffee shop! We came to the grand opening of the Fairfax/Merrifield location of Shaghf cafe because they were giving out free Dubai chocolate to the first 200 customers and was impressed by the food and drink that we got. The grand opening was very hectic, but the employees did a good job of keeping the lines moving as fast as they could. Inside of the shop, there were two kiosks and one cashier that customers could order from. Inside of the shop, there was a good amount of seating. On a different day where there aren't so many people, this would a be a good place to get some work done or hang out with friends! The menu has a large variety of unique drinks and desserts. We got the ocean blue drink and carrot cake. The ocean blue was pretty tasty and had a refreshing lime and mint flavor. The carrot cake was not too sweet and very light and fluffy. We did have to wait quite a while for our order, but I think part of it was because it was very crowded due to then grand opening. Hopefully the service will be better on a non-grand opening day. The employees were nice and helped me get find my order when I asked. I would definitely come back to this shop!

The purple Ube…read moreice cream and green coconutty Pandan ice cream twist is our favorite and love topping it off with Oreo crumbles or sprinkles, and let's not forget the Ube wafers and Taikayi waffle cones! The flavors rotate seasonally with different combo twist flavors and there's now a Mini 6 oz option as well as the 9 oz classic option with unlimited toppings! There are interesting seasonal flavors that are fun to try: - Honey Dew & Guava Cheesecake Twist - The summer flavor and sweetness of the honey dew complemented the exotic guava cheesecake flavor. - Sticky Mango Rice and Matcha Twist - While I enjoyed both flavors while the savoriness of the matcha helped balance out the sweetness of the Mango, they didn't pair that well together. I would get the Matcha separately and pair with Oreos and chocolate. - Peach Honey Goat Cheese - My favorite summer! The unique flavor is complex with a bit sweetness and a touch of savory. You can taste all of the ingredients. - Sakura: The pink cherry spring flavor wasn't that sweet and a bit tangy. - Kyoto Taro Cheesecake: A great combo of Taro and Matcha Cheesecake twist that's not too sweet and flavorful Ube Cheesecake flavor - A bit bland with a subtle cheesecake flavor. - Watermelon Basil - Fun flavor to try and tastes like a sour watermelon jollyrancher. It pairs well with the Peach Honey Goat Cheese flavor. - Black Sesame - Grey, savory flavor with a hint of bitterness. - Cookies and Cream flavor is a bit bland. - Classic Ube & Pandan Twist: I always resort back to my favorite default sweet and coconutty flavor. The Taikayi waffle cones are delicious. As the stuffed Taikyai is quite decadent, getting it hollow without any filling is the best way to go with the ice cream. Any type of filling with the ice cream becomes overload of sweetness. The Wicked Pandan Float (from the glass cooler) was delicious with layers of green coconut Pandan cheesecake custard pudding on a bed of Oreo Crumbs drizzled with salted caramel dulche leche. All of the flavors pair well together. I wasn't a fan of the Ube Dulce Leche or the Ube Oreo Floater. The Ube custard was a bit bland and didn't like the jelly topping. Skip the floats in the cooler and head straight to order the ice cream! Sign-up with the app and you can score deals and discounts via text and get notified of new flavors and when some flavors retire. My kids and I enjoyed love coming here and sharing a fun sundae! We came here a dozen times during the summer. There's both indoor and outdoor seating.

That said, the portions can be a bit overwhelming after a while, so I usually order the small size or split a signature with someone. Ordering is easy since everything is done through the kiosk at the front, which gives you plenty of time to customize your dessert without feeling rushed. The only downside is that there can be a bit of a wait before your order is ready, especially when it's busy. I'd definitely come back to try some of their other desserts. One tip: if you've never had pandan before, this probably isn't the place for your first introduction. The pandan flavor is quite bold and can be an acquired taste.

Wife and I sat at the Chef's Counter for a truly wonderful meal last night. The menu is exceptional, five courses, several with two options, and the progression was just perfect. We really loved all of the dishes, but for sure the ravioli with wild asparagus and ramps is one I will remember for a long time. The octopus was also a memorable dish, and the poussin was complex, layer after layer of flavor and the salt level was so good...just perfect food, perfectly executed. Oh, and shout out to the owner's dad, who is in his 90s and makes the bread, a rich sourdough, served warm, that has a 50 year old starter at its essence. Yum. We did the wine pairings and I def recommend. Some really good wines, curated from small vineyards globally, matched perfectly and well presented. The sommelier nailed it. We also just loved the service. Nice touches pre arrival, they are expecting you when you arrive and there's a lovely personal touch and welcoming feel. The ambience is warm, and you can hear and talk and it does feel like you're at a dinner party with friends and family. Finally, shout out to the chefs and servers. Knowledgable, conversational, and charming. We really enjoyed the Chef's Counter and the entire experience. Kudos to Chef Jon Krinn and his family for creating this masterpiece of a restaurant. It is Michelin star worthy, and we cannot wait to go back.

I mean shame on them because they deserve some seriously high praise. And honestly, they pulled out all the stops for their recent New Years Eve dining experience - I'm talking caviar, white truffle, A5 wagyu, a custom cocktail (because they know I like gin and yuzu) and a painfully decadent dessert - What a way to send out 2025! I mean, honestly, the meal was exquisite and so perfectly executed. Each dish is crafted with a passion and care for food that absolutely shines. I mean the Foie Gras (sp??) - I don't even really like the stuff, put the way they sauteed it, put it on top of some sort of savory cake and slathered it with this balsamic gastrique - it was like bacon and pancakes smothered in maple syrup just amplified to 100. Bottom line: I would eat this every day (and amplify my weight by 100 too). The snow crab, I don't know if it's the care in selecting the product or the techniques used to prepare it (probably both ), but they packed so much crab flavor into that dish! And the dark chocolate cheesecake, it was magic that can make something so dark, so bold, so rich feel so light when you are eating it. This was just one specific meal here, but I am surprised and delighted every time we get the privilege to dine at Elyse. It's not just the food, it's the atmosphere and the attention of the staff. The slush part was really good and had a slight coconut flavor which was nice, and it tasted very fresh. While I liked the drink, if I could I would get that slush with boba instead of sago. The pistachio flavor was evident on top, but it was just a kinda tart vanilla ice cream with toppings. I did like it, however, and it paired well with the lokmas. The lokmas were fried to perfection, a nice amount of chewy, and covered with a good ratio of pistachio cream. They were a decent size and conducive to sharing.
