Great location of a great company. If you are craving a fast food burger without fast food taste than this is the place to be. The outdoor pingpong table and dog area gives a comfortable urban vibe as you enjoy your delicious (although a little bit pricey) burger. Ask for extra cheese for the fries and your perfect meal will be complete. My only gripe would have to be how thick the shake is (although I know some individuals that enjoy the ice creamy consistency to their shakes). Been wanting to try Shake Shack for years and was finally able to try it in the domain. I travel for work in the area and as soon as I saw it I knew I was going to give it a try. I had attempted to try the on in Central Park when I visited NYC but it was too busy and we were on a schedule. So Austin Shake Shack here i come. Overall very good experience and i tried it twice in a 3 day trip. When trying gourmet burger spots I always opt for the same thing. There signature burger and fries and a chocolate milkshake. Milkshake was great Fries were crisp, fresh and properly seasoned Burger: What I always notice most is the bun, I feel that really makes it and I am a big fan. Beef was great, cheese was also good, fresh veggies. The lack of a fifth star comes down to the shake sauce. It may sound odd and it could just be me, but it tasted like bad breath? It didn't stop me from coming back and just getting it with out but just thought it had an odd flavor. Staff is very personable and did a great job. Place was clean and well maintained Fan of the self serve water set up. After visiting this location I did stop by the Chicago airport unit in the midst of late breakfast rush. Not as good, ordered a draft root beer and it came in a cup 3/4 full and with no ice? Breakfast sandwich was okay and when my order came up the pick up process was a little weird. The burgers are great always fresh, the fries are just ok. It his places is over priced for the food served. You have to bother the employees to get a refill if you want one. Chicken is over cooked and seasoned. Been here twice, staff is always nice but the food is not worth what you pay. Will not be back. read more

I've been wanting to try Shake Shack forever (I even have it in DC/my area, but hadn't gotten around to it until a trip to Austin). Since I had it, I now crave it. The size/portion is perfect, the burger is PERFECT, the fries are delicious (remind me of the 80s) the service was good and quick ... super cute and clean chain. Can't wait to go again!!! I'll try to DC/Chinatown location next time. So glad they expanded out of NYC. read more

We went to blues on the green and attempted to order a burger after waiting in line for 25-30 minutes only to be told they were refusing mods on food orders EVEN IF YOU COULDNT HAVE THE SAUCE BECAUSE OF LACTOSE INTOLERANCE. the apathetic cashier didn't seem to care at all about our frustration, so we left. My boyfriend was furious and returned to the line after it had diminished. When his turn was up and no one was behind him, the cashier shouted, "oh, he's back again!" Just don't use the app to order. It'll tell you to show up at a certain time and wait for a text to inform you your order is ready for pick up. Well it told me to show up at 7pm. I waited for 15 mins for that text to come in that never did. When I asked the person at the desk, he just pulled the items from the shelf. WTF if it's ready, it's ready. Where was my text? I LOVE Shake Shack's burgers! I ordered the Smoke Shack and it was smokin' good. The bacon was just my type-- crispy, but not where it's too brittle and crumbles apart in an overly salty burnt coal taste. I like my bacon to look like the advertisement burger photos shown in commercials and menus. The Smoke Shack's sauce is kind of sour which reminds me of relish, the chopped cherry pepper was not too spicy and adds in that mini spark on your tongue, although I do admit it was testing me near the end as the small spice accumulated, but I won. Meat was cooked medium rare with a little red on the inside, and held together with the soft bun. What I liked about this bun was that the back of the bun was still attached together, so nothing fell out on the other side when you bite it from the front. Such a simple fix, but ingenious. The chocolate milkshake I ordered was thick and frothy; they use a lot of ice cream in it, so it didn't turn into mush quickly like other newb shakes. Their crinkle fries were the perfect ratio of crunchy and potatoes, so you won't get tired of eating them. There's a mini bar on the side with plasticware, condiments, napkins, and water cups. Employees were busy because it was flowing with customers so they all had their focused game face on. A little on the pricier side for these burgers, but you get what you paid for so all is well. The atmosphere here is hip and trendy, with a beautiful pairing of wood vs glass windows, making up a unique modern abstract building. I've been to the one in Times Square and fell in love with this place. Such amazing burgers. I don't understand the low ratings for this place- I thought it was just as good as the one in New York, the food came out quick and fresh, and the service was excellent. Unfortunately as much as I hate giving bad reviews today was not up to par for what I expected from shake shack! I'm visiting from Houston and wanted to try it out for the first time over here in Austin because we heard it was a nice spot to get a quick and delicious meal, but unfortunately after today I don't feel very confident recommending this place for burgers! We ordered a Lockhart and the new Korean chicken burger along with fries.. we were planning on eating outside but it was a bit crowded around the time we went so we decided to take it to the hotel. When we took the food out there was just so much grease that had come from the burger that it completely drenched the paper wrap it was in along with the napkins and bag! The Korean chicken burger wasn't my favorite and the Lockhart burger had tough meat inside the sausage was so dry and the bun was soggy yet a little hard on some parts my boyfriend commented about it tasting very strong and old. Good food, good customer service, and clean tables. The only complaint I have is the water bowls for dogs they leave outside get used by the birds as a bath. Those birds flick water everywhere that can get on people and their food. It's nice to leave water out for the dogs, but I think it would be better to move those bowls farther away from the tables. read more

This is a fun place to get a great hamburger. My family and I have eaten here several times. It is especially nice to follow a meal with a game in the courtyard outdoors when the weather is pleasant. Solely writing this review on their shakes. We went around 8pm on a weekday night...I counted a total of 11 customers. Nice! The place was really clean and they were fully staffed as if it were the weekend. The menu was filled with your usual burger joint choices but I was only there to try a shake. Some of the shakes rotate weekly...I had just missed the red velvet cheesecake shake. The cashier was really patient while I decided on my order and even let me try the Uchi & Uchiko miso hazelnut and huckleberry jam on a tater spoon. My God was that delicious but I was in the mood for chocolate! I tried the concrete Texas Twister (chocolate custard, chocolate covered pretzel bits, marshmallow sauce and chocolate sprinkles). It's was just ok. You have to really love chocolate to call this one good. It's such a rich, chocolatey flavor that I could barely finish it. And then the mix ins were chocolate covered pretzel bits (I thought entirely too much in quantity) and chocolate sprinkles...I couldn't even taste the marshmallow sauce. I'm sad I didn't enjoy this pricey double shake! But I'll be back to try the concrete Uchi shake and play a lite bocce for sure! read more

I really love the staff and the ambiance. Nice location for a cheap-ish date night. We watched an nba game on a friday night and it wasn't too crowded. We didn't feel rushed at all. But if I'm rating the food, three stars. I've been in twice to this location and ordered the mushroom burger, both times the inside cheese has been cold and not fully melted... kind of underwhelming considering it was an absolutely delicious burger when I had it in DC and NYC. read more

Ridiculously overpriced. I think they have the cost of the item and its caloric value mixed up on the menu. I saw the $9 price tag on the burger we wanted (fries not included) and I figured it must be large enough to split with my wife. I was pretty hungry though so I also got a hot dog additionally. Thank goodness for that hot dog. Half of the burger was a couple bites. Very small for the price. They're delicious, don't get me wrong. But I could eat two or three of them on an average sized appetite. Fries were good as was the hot dog. Still hungry after our $30 meal, I went to get some ice cream. The eponymous trip to Shake Shack I guess. Surprise, surprise... a $7 milkshake. That's more than the Pulp Fiction $5 milk shake. And this wasn't a tumbler of milkshake with the metal mixing cup. It was what you would expect a small/medium soda to look like. Not cool. Worst part, it wasn't very good. No where near good enough to name the business after. Service was so-so. There were a few people milling about behind the counter at all times. Looks like 3 people could run it but they had 6. Maybe that's where my money went. That or the decor. First ever visit to any Shake Shake (still confuse the name with Steak & Shake). Ordered the Lockhart Burger - a burger with Kreuz's Sausage on it. Asked for no cheese, no sauce. Took forever - and it came with sauce. Had to catch them on the redo - it was going to have cheese - the guy had written nothing down. The redo took forever as well, and the seats are all the uncomfortable type. The fries - just ok. The burger - ok - greasy bun. The sausage made the burger, though (this would seem to be only available locally). I would get it again - but maybe just the sausage? ;) read more

I could eat here everyday. My go to menu items are the smokestack and cheese fries. The cherry peppers have just the right amount of spice and match perfectly with the smoky, salty bacon. The french fries are crinkle cut and crispy, allowing them to not get soggy under the delicious cheese sauce. I crave the cheese fries all the time. On this visit I tried the strawberry mint lemonade and it was the perfect blend of sweet and tasty and a touch of mint. A meal here can be a bit pricier than comparable burger restaurants, but the food here has always been a favorite of mine. read more
