Was waiting for quite a while for this Shake Shack to open. Honestly, the two times I've been here, I haven't been disappointed. I usually get the Beverly Chills custard, which is almost like a meal in itself because it is so filling. However, it has so many ingredients is full of sweetness, which I why I get it every time I come back. Also, there's no other place in the mall to get something similar to ice cream except for Shake Shack and Yogurtland, which is downstairs... I also like to get the cheese fries with bacon here. Keep in mind that if you order it to go, you will be given the cheese in a container as well as the bacon, so that you will need to distribute it evenly on your fries yourself. Thus, I prefer to order the cheese fries with bacon for here so that they can do it better for me. I have yet to try to burgers, but I can imagine that those are good too. So excited to have Shake shack at Century City Mall...especially since there's nothing else at the mall currently as it goes under massive remodeling and construction! I love how shake shack has its own little restaurant sitting area & it's own outdoor patio. Most especially appreciate the option of Shake Shake Ale (beer on tap) to pair with your mind blowing shroom burger and fries. They can accommodate any changes I asked for mine without mayo and substituted dijon mustard instead. The strawberry milkshakes are absolutely delicious! Make sure you try the chicken burger as well; skip the cheese fries, too many calories! The service is absolutely first class! this place is definitely not to be confused with McDonald's (neither in service, price or quality of food). I was pretty surprised when my husband said that Shake Shack and In-N Out have a rivalry going on. Curious, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, I was disappointed on multiple levels. I ordered just their classic burger but I added bacon. My husband got a burger that had sautéed onions and mushrooms and we shared a side of fries. Firstly, the cost of the burgers for how TINY they are is INSULTING. They looked like the size of MacDonald's cheeseburgers. They got even tinier when you picked them up because the bun is so soft, that it flattens with every bite you take. I don't need a lot to be full, but when I was done with my burger and half an order of fries, I didn't feel satisfied. Even the habit charges around the same price, but their burgers are WAY bigger (and better). Secondly, though tiny, their burgers are HEAVY. The bread is sort of just mush in your mouth, then add that with their sauce and cheese, and I felt like every bite was just gooey heaviness but not in a good way. Sure my burger had once slice of lettuce and tomato, but it tasted like it was just cheese and fat. The only reason I give them a 2 star and not a 1 star is because I do think the patty was flavorful. My review is based off of my experience at Shake Shack, not off of a comparison to In-N-Out. However, if I were to compare the two, In-N-Out is a definite winner and here's why: For one, the size of your burger is bigger. Additionally, the ratio of burger toppings is better. In-N-Out's bread doesn't just mush into a flat pancake and the extra lettuce they put and the pickles gives it a fresh taste. You still get the cheese and sauce, but it has a brightness to it. Also, In-N-Out's sauce is WAY better. Shake Shack's sauce (which I tasted both on the burger and on the side) thick and lacks flavor. In-N-Out's is delicious (I mean, come on, we all need to admit that we could totally drink the sauce packets) and goes well with everything. Lastly, the fries are better and fresher. I don't know why there is even a question about which is better. Either way, Shake Shack alone is not something I would eat again, even if In-N-Out wasn't an option. Blech. read more

Went in to this Shake Shack at Century City Mall and waited in a long line to order a hot dog and fries for my 5 year old. After finally making it to the front of the line I asked if there was a kids menu in which Josh responded no. I then ordered a hot and fries for my child. Josh said they had run out of hot dogs and so I canceled the order and walked away. Upon walking away I noticed someone getting a hot dog order and so I proceeded to make the order through their app as I saw advertised at the pick up window. When the app notified me that the order was ready I went to get the order and asked another worker if they had run out of hot dogs at anytime during the day in which she responded no. Quite shocked I asked if I could speak to the supervisor and she let me know that she was the supervisor. I explained to her the situation that had happened between me and an employee named Josh and she immediately apologized and proceeded to get the assistant manager. After explaining the situation again to Tee, the assistant manager, she said that they would refund my order. I told her I did not care nor want the $7 refund. I proceeded to ask why I would be lied to about such a thing especially after waiting in a long line with a toddler who I made clear I was ordering the food for. That is when the assistant manager, Tee, decided to cover Josh's tracks and lie about how they did temporarily run out of hot dogs. Now keep in mind it was at most 10 minutes between the time I was told they ran out of hot dogs to the time I was given a hot dog I ordered through the app. How could it be that in 10 minutes they ran out of hot dogs that I am almost certain are prepackaged and sitting in some refrigerator waiting to be heated? I do want to mention that I am Muslim and wear the head scarf. I hate to play the discrimination card here but I honestly can not find any other reason why Josh and then Tee (covering their tracks) would lie about running out of hot dogs. read more

So I went on a Saturday night and the line was out the door and there was nowhere to sit because it's not that big on the inside. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger, fries, and made my own concrete. The burger was flavorful and good, I like the hinged bun but I do not care for the shack sauce. It just tasted weird to me. The crinkle cut fries were really good. My concrete was a little too sweet for my liking. It's a good burger place but really expensive. Over $20 for two people. Shake Shack at Century City!! Location of the restaurant is perfect. It is in a prime location that draws crowds in. The restaurant is brand spanking new and is very clean. They seem to have ample staff behind the counter and in the dining area, but they all tend to customers showing hospitality to everyone. The food is as I remembered it when they had a Pop Up last year on 3rd street. They have a wider variety in the menu and the flavor was spot on. One feedback I have is that it was greasy. I got the cheese fries and thought the fries were decent but the cheese reminded me of meal-program government cheese sauce from H.S. The burger itself was okay but there was barely any sauce, it was small, and taste-wise was like any other burger I've had at Bobby's Burger joint down the street I recommend coming before 12 to avoid the rush, I walked in at 11:45ish ish and went straight to the counter. After 12 the line was out the door and stayed that way. This was the worst dining experience I have had in many years. We went there thinking that we could find dinner items for our young grandsons. The gentleman that was working the floor, his name is Ryan and he was just giving the best service I've seen to the guests ( I thought I was at Chick-fil-A). First, I called them to ask how long for the wait for to go, whoever answers the phone said 8 mins, so I went there in person to order. I ordered at 6:38 pm tonight and I got my burger at around 7:00.(even the waiting is way longer than I expected but I told myself not to be too crucial to them). Its been a couple of months since I last visited this location and since I was in the area I decided to give it another try. Without a doubt, I have always been a fan of the food at Shake Shack but the only thing that was keeping me from returning was the consistently bad service (as shown in my previous review) I was receiving at this location. I can say that this visit was completely different from all the past ones. Every single staff member I encountered this visit was very kind and helpful. I don't know if they recently made changes in how they are changing their staff but I am very happy with this change! It makes me more willing to return to this location. During this visit, there was a little bit of a line but the staff kept it moving quickly and the food came out faster than expected. I've eaten here a few times now. The burgers are consistently good; well seasoned, crispy edges, good balance of toppings and condiments, and a great egg (I think) bun. The fries are a delight, too, especially when topped with cheese. During this last visit I tried a concrete. The employer described it as "thicker than a shake, and you'll have to eat it with a spoon." I can't say this description was accurate as the concrete was, in reality, a bowl of melted ice cream with some chunks (toppings) drowning it in. Please note that I'm not employing hyperbole when I say melted. Had I thrown this at a wall or onto the ground it would look like a Jackson Pollock painting. There's usually plenty of parking in the parking structure and from what I recall they charge a measly (for LA) $1 per hour. A miracle I know. Located in the upstairs food area, Shake Shack has the usual architecture design you'd find at most Shake Shacks, with the nice wooden tables, modern silver accents, and friendly vibes. There's even an outdoor seating area here. Lines are pretty long during lunch (was out the door), but was about 5-6 deep around 5pm. Time to get your order was a bit longer than expected, but not necessarily a bad sign for a fast-casual spot. Cashiers were super friendly. I've had the regular burgers and roadhouse burgers a few things, which are great. This time, I tried the fried chicken burger and it was way better than I expected. The chicken comes in a pretty thick piece, but moist throughout, and the batter was on point. For a fast-casual restaurant, it def exceeded my expectations. My heart is with Howlin's Rays, but I'd happily settle for a Shake Shack fried chicken burger anyday. read more

I simply love their burgers and cheesefries, to the tune that I'll drive from Long Beach all the way to LA to enjoy their flavors. I moved out of this area years ago, so I'm over hustling and bustling over parking. I'm also over paying to park at a mall. For that reason, I'd rather go to the Hollywood location off La Cienega than to deal with this parking structure and the sometimes snobby attitudes within. I suppose if you're already going to or are at Century City mall, you're in luck. If you park near Gelsons, you'll be fairly close but will still have 2 escalator rides up. Inside is pretty small, so if you plan to eat there, send a drone from your party to watch for a table. The bathroom could have used more sanitation the day we were there but other than that I found this location to be "aight". We were just here yesterday. We ordered the shroom burger. It was good but the fries were really salty. After eating our food. My daughter and I went to go use the all gender restroom. A male employee (shorter really young white guy) went in before us. He left the rest room looking disgusting. He didn't put his seat down, he sprayed his pee all in front of the toilet floor, and didn't even bother to flush. Probably didn't even washed his hands either. It was disgusting. Before using the only toilet available at the time (someone was in the other restroom) We had to wet the floor with some water and use some towel to clean it with our feet before even attempting to use the toilet for my 4 year old. She was rude too and said, "The ticket didn't print a name so we just put it to the side and didn't call it out." If the first employee just took a quick look at my order when I first arrived or was helpful enough to ask the kitchen, there wouldn't be a problem.
