($9.84 for a "double" cheeseburger that looks like it's the size of a single patty burger anywhere else.) The taste here is pretty consistent to locations on the East Coast. Shake Shack is expensive, but I think that as long as you go in with the expectation that you're getting fast food at a premium, then you'll be satisfied. The most delicious burger in my opinion is the shack stack (go fried portabello mushrooms!). Just be careful of the cheese loaded inside the mushroom, or else you could make a mess and/or burn yourself! The chick'n shack is good, but at best reminds me of a glorified chick-fil-a sandwich. The shakes here are good, but veryyyy sweet. I would not delay drinking your shake for too long, otherwise it will lose its consistency and turn into liquid ice cream quickly! read more

Came here during the week for an early dinner and we were pleasantly surprised by the short line! The other times that we've been here it was during the weekend (for lunch), and the line is either out the door or close to it! I found out that they now have an app that lets you preorder so you can avoid the wait. On to the food and drink: 1) Love their crispy crinkle-cut fries! I've also tried it with the melted cheese (on the side) and it was a guilty pleasure! 2) I mostly get the single hamburger and I like that the patty is larger than their fluffy bun! 3) A friend recommended their shack stack so I gave that a try and it was large enough to share (it's a cheeseburger with a meaty fried portobello mushroom filled with muenster and cheddar cheese). If you're super hungry, give this a try! 4) The smoke shack is a cheeseburger with applewood smoked bacon and cherry peppers. Get this if you're in the mood for some crispy bacon. Definitely a party in your mouth! 5) Limited time only Chicken bites (either 6-piece or 10-piece) was a nice snack but the sizes were inconsistent. The chicken was tender and juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. However, it was a bit salty for my taste. And, only two sauces were offered - honey mustard or BBQ. I personally prefer sweet and sour sauce. 6) The chocolate milkshake was tasty and not overly sweet. I read that it was the shake (along with vanilla shake) with the least amount of sugar. 7) The strawberry milkshake was a bit too sweet for me. Texture wise, the shake was thick and creamy like how you'd expect it to be. Why do I always sucked in by my husband to eat at SS? In order to satisfy 2 people's hunger in this joint, they must spend at least $40! I get it that their ingredients are "natural" but the food is not that tasty compared to other burger joints like in and out and the habit. If I want to spend that much money, I would go to a sit-down resto and enjoy the wait service. Even the milkshake which should be a no brainer is not that enjoyable here. The fries still reminds me of frozen fries and the cheese on top of it is just weird-tasting. As for this location, they have their own restroom which is a plus and the employees are very nice. No. Just No. I am such a fan of Shake Shack and so disappointed in my experience at this location. I am so glad I tried other locations before coming to this one other wise I would not know what the experience should be. We knew it would be busy as always so that is just something you cannot escape. Location: It is TINY. It literally felt like I was in a shack. However, the food court is located across from rhe restaurant with plenty of places to sit. Customer Service: Our cashier was great. He was really friendly. I was hoping the food would complete that experience. Food: No. I ordered the chicken shack with No Pickles and fries. Certain pickles give me an allergic reaction so I am cautious with pickles on my food. We got our food fairly quickly. My chicken was overcooked, and they added Pickles!!! It tasted as if they added the pickles, tried to mask the mistake in sauce, but left a pickle on the sandwich. Luckily I didn't get sick. The fries were also awful. Some tasted cooked, some tasted undercooked, while others tasted overcooked. I have no idea what happened here besides extreme disappointment. I was so excited to see a Shake Shack in Century City. I've eaten at several Shake Shacks over the years, including the original location in Madison Square Park, and I keep waiting to be wowed by these burgers that everyone seems to love. I think the problem is that it keeps getting compared to In-N-Out, and it's like 80% as delicious and more than twice as expensive (though, admittedly, the fries are much better). Unless I very much want to be drinking a beer with my burger, I'd always rather be at In-N-Out. That said, Shake Shack is good fast food, and Matt B., who works in Century City, is extremely grateful that it opened in the mall. I met him for a quick lunch a couple weeks ago after running an errand in the area. The parking was a pain in the ass--I have hated this parking lot, through all its iterations, for almost twenty years--but finding the Shake Shack was easy enough, at least, since most of the mall is still creepily closed. There was a short line, but it moved quickly, and service was friendly and efficient. It was busy and the dining area compact, but we got a table, no problem. We were right next to another table of two and since this was the day after Trump fired Comedy, all four of us were weirdly talking about the same thing while pretending not to hear/listen to each other. I've had the run of the Shake Shack menu and everything has been varying levels of good. This time, I got the Shack Stack, a cheeseburger mashed with a 'Shroom Burger, so patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, ShackSauce, and a deep-fried portobello mushroom filled with melted muenster and cheddar cheese. Decadent and quite tasty, with plenty of gooey cheese action. Matt and I also shared some fries, which were great. I don't know that Shake Shack is worth the headache of driving to Century City and parking at the mall, but it's a good option for an easy meal if you're already in the area. Let's skip the the haterade about high prices, small portions, etc etc, shall we? Great quality, fresh ingredients and real food, for that matter, ain't cheap. If you're looking for a bargain, keep looking. I really liked my cheeseburger at Shake Shack. They use brioche buns that are then steamed, so you won't get a stale, dry, hard or crumbly bready bun- just soft, moist, buttery goodness to hug your burger...good move, guys. The patties aren't super thick, but flavor is on point. We didn't think the hot dog was anything special, but hey, it's a burger joint, right? Their crinkle cut fries are awesome and seasoned with an amazing blend of what I can only imagine to be made from fairy dust and angel tears. So good. Milkshakes are also good, but the title of 'best milkshakes ever' still belongs to my beloved, The Habit. (Then again, the Habit pretty much dominates all things.) They call this the In-N-Out of the east coast and this is my third or fourth time coming here! Yummy but a bit pricey. ***PARKING Now that the construction is done, the parking is much easier to navigate through. I believe it's about $1/hour for the first three hours and it's more after that. Luckily we were in a rush to eat so we could catch a movie and were only there for under an hour! ***FOOD 1) Classic Shack Burger - I believe that's what the default burger is called. It's really good! I almost hate to admit how much I actually enjoyed it... The patty itself definitely beats In-N-Out because it's much more flavorful (as in salty and savory mmm). The buns are also so soft and light. The burger is so well balanced too. The only downside though is that it is quite small especially for its price. I could probably finish this burger in a handful of very large bites. ***ATMOSPHERE This is quite a classy mall. The food court is really nice and there's a bunch of outdoor furniture to hang out on with friends if you just want to digest after eating. The inside of the restaurant is also really nice! ***OTHER The price is quite expensive since nothing comes in combos. I'm not sure about the whole shake shack/in-n-out debate (it's of my opinion that they serve two different purposes and don't really compare to one another), but their burgers are just so dang good. As a California native, I never had Shake Shack before. I can now say that it is definitely a great sit-down lunch place with great options for food and drinks. I had a ShackBurger, a chocolate shake, and the ShakeMeister Ale: all being amazing choices. My friend had the Chickn'Shack and loved it. I don't get the rivalry with Shake Shack vs. In-N-Out because Shake Shack has higher prices and more of a sit down restaurant at this particular location, so I don't think they can be compared. However, I do believe that Shake Shack has great food and an atmosphere similar to Umami Burger. Parking is a bit of trouble at the Century City mall, but there are plenty of spaces. Restrooms are available inside Shake Shack. Overall, I will come back and to enjoy another ShackBurger. read more

Glad I came here with a gift card so I never have to go back. I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1 because I will say their employees are very nice. Everything else about this place is horrible. To start I ordered the shake burger. When it was ready it was cold, stale, and had 0 sauce. I had to go back to the counter where they put some in a small sauce cup for me. One of the employees who came by to take dishes we were done with asked if I wanted a refill (which was free so get the small for your soda I don't get why they offer a medium size which costs more when you can just get more soda for free). Anyways I said yes she cleared everything but then I didn't see her again. When I finally did I asked her what happened to my refill. She was very apologetic and then did go and get it for me. After all the hype surrounding Shake Shack, I finally got myself to drive all the way up from Orange County to try the place myself. Unfortunately, it was a...so-so experience. For starters, be ready for a crowd because this place still gets very busy at peak times. The wait felt like forever because I was so hungry. I ordered a Double Shackburger, and in my opinion the burger was very very good, BUT in regards to how much it costed, it was pretty small--not worth the $8-$9 price tag. I also got an order of cheese fries, which started off tasty but then became a little overwhelming. I'll probably be sticking to classic fries next time. The coffee milkshake I had was reallly good as well, but again, quite overpriced. Overall, the food was pretty dang good, but for the price you are paying, it's definitely not a place you'd go often. That being said, they do have a pretty expansive menu that I would still like to try more of eventually. I had my first juicy Shake 'Shack' burger (cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, Shakesauce) with their famous crinkle-cut fries was at my company award ceremony dinner award party last year. I was hooked! Shake Shack has 5 locations. Their secrets are they used Non-GMO potato bun with hinge to catch all the juices when you bite into the burger; so don't tear the buns apart! The burgers are small because they smashed the meat to crystallize the outside of the meat. The Shackburger is my favorite. I have had the double Shackburger when I'm super hungry! I also like the fact that they are very conscientious about where they purchase their meats (vegetarian fed, humanly raised, antibiotic free, hormones free) and premium ingredients from reliable farmers, ranchers and bakers. The post mates order had 7 items, the bag was tagged with the long receipt and only 1 item of 7 was messily thrown in the bag. Not box or packaging- literally just throw in the bag? The careless man with blonde dreadlocks and blue eyes rushed me away from the counter without even checking either order. Not sure why he thought the mile long receipt was for 1 small item. I've never received a burger that wasn't even put together. Basically the ikea version of a cheeseburger like they expect you to build it yourself & all the pieces are just thrown in the bag for you. Staff is so rude and takes zero pride in their job. Makes the whole Shake Shack establishment and company look like sloppy shit. Tastes like it too. Hope the management sees this review and takes it into consideration. I was disappointed in spending my own money on this place and even more so I felt embarrassed to deliver the post-mates order late, sloppy and cold. Your location sucks. The fries I got were limp and the cheese sauce immediately turned it into an unappealing pile of mush. Today I had a movie planned so I used the mobile app to order to make sure I had time for my movie. It's Weds at 5pm, line is only 5-7 people deep. Come on a weekday! Glad I came in to try out the food but I enjoyed The chicken sandwich way better than the burger. If you are going with a burger smokestack is better than the shack burger if you are a meat eater. Krinkle fries tasted normal. The seasonal Shake is vanilla toffee. They had three options for floats but the app only let me order the creamsicle. Prices are fair. Food was tasty but I wouldn't wait an hour or more for it. Also, I like this location. Folks are civilized and will hold your spot in line so you can run to the restroom and stuff. My first Shake Shack experience was in Century City, and when I told them, the cashier gave me a discount. Century City Mall looks great from its recent remodel. If you're in a burger mood, you can't go wrong with Shake Shack. Sure, people compare it to In-N-Out, which is cheaper and many prefer the taste. Personally, I think the taste is marginal, but I would go to In-N-Out often if they were around more...it's just that Shake Shack is popping up everywhere and I'm willing to pay a bit more and it's not worth traveling to an In-N-Out anymore. Plus the Frozen Custards and desserts are good. I had the Beverly Chills (vanilla, caramel, chocolate), which is unique to this location. From what I can tell, the menu items are unique to where the restaurants are located. In case you're wondering, the difference between ice cream and frozen custards is that the latter has a bit of pasteurized egg yolk, it's denser, and it melts a bit quicker. That's pretty much the experience I had with the Beverly Chills, having the large one to enjoy on a chill night, and it was delicious. Yum. read more

One of the most disappointing burgers I've had. I ordered two double cheeseburgers, and two crinkle fries. The burgers were dry and the edges were burned and inedible. The meat had an off taste, so I threw it away. The bun was smashed almost flat and tasteless. The cheddar cheese was good as were their pickles. The crinkle fries were mushy, not real fries.
