Honestly one of the better vegetarian options out there, and easily more interesting than the regular burgers. I usually don't go fully veggie but this is the outlier. Cheese fries were also strong--crinkle cuts held up, and the cheese sauce wasn't stingy, which is rare. It was Father's day and my husband wanted to try this place since we were in the area. It is inside Valley Fair mall, so you need to park for the mall to get to it. I tried to order a chicken sandwich with an add on but they could not do this for me without charging me for a more expensive sandwich so I just ordered a burger. I didn't ask for cheese but ended up getting cheese anyway, which I do not like at fast food burger places. I thought because I ordered a burger, not a cheeseburger, I didn't have to say no cheese. Lesson learned. The fries were just run-of-the- mill crinkle frozen fries. My husband ordered a chocolate shake and was not impressed. I do have to say the burger meat was good, albeit a little greasy, and I probably would have enjoyed it much more if there hadn't been cheese on it. The nuggets were very saucy, mildly spice, and pretty sweet. It's honestly not bad. The wait can be pretty long if you order on the kiosk, but faster if you order online & pick up. I think my boyfriend got the limited time French onion burger with an extra patty. The base price of the burger was $14.79 and ended up being $17.79 for the triple. The burger was really good but the edges were my favorite. It was so juicy and all the flavors came together there. The middle of the burger wasn't as appealing. The regular single $8.29 shack burger was good too but no where near as good as the French onion burger. The ordering kiosk was a bit slow. It took a bunch of tried to get the machine to select what we wanted. The restaurant gets really cold at night if the door gets left open which it constantly was. Just okay burgers - and that's ok! The first and only other time I ever had Shake Shack was in Las Vegas in like 2017. So it was time to try it again! We ordered the Smoke Shack and the Bacon Cheeseburger. Both are similar, but the Smoke Shack has cherry peppers that added a nice pickled kick. The ordering kiosk makes it easy to customize your burger and you can also add a side of shack sauce too (free)! The burgers were good enough, but not amazing for the price you pay. If anyone remembers Umami Burger in Palo Alto or San Francisco - those were sooo good and I'd pay $$$ for them!! Since it's called SHAKE shack, we had to order shakes too! It was pretty sweet and filling with the burger so I wish I ordered their mango passionade instead. It sounds refreshing! We also ordered garlic parmesan fries + regular fries! Honestly the garlic parm fries just tasted like regular fries, but it just comes with a garlic aioli (yum!) My friend had a burger and fries, which they enjoyed. I've tried the Shroom Burger before, but it's not for me. I know, I know, I'm late to the game, but I finally tried Shake Shack. I don't go to Valley Fair often, I had lunch with my friend last weekend, and I felt like a burger and fries. You order and pay at a kiosk, find a table, and then they bring you your food when it's ready. My friend got a single SmokeShack which is a bacon cheeseburger w/chopped cherry peppers. Their Shack Stack looked interesting, so I tried that. It was a cheese burger topped with a shroom burger (deep fried portabella stuffed with Muenster & Cheddar). I also added bacon to mine. We also got a couple of orders of fries. I really liked all of the textures of my burger, including the charred crispy bits of the hamburger patty. The fries weren't crispy but we really enjoyed the burgers. Now that I've had Shake Shack, I'd definitely eat there again. Got a BLT 8/28/25, it was so unbelievably not worth $8. There was very little bacon and even though it was nice and crispy, it doesn't do this super sad sandwich any justice. The ambiance is just whatever, a family and friends hangout spot with lots of seating (not much people at 11am) Service was pretty fast, like five minutes for mine and ten minutes for my friend's cheeseburger, but putting together these sandwiches should be taking like two minutes. In terms of quality, Shake Shack seems to be hit-or-miss for a lot of people, but I happen to enjoy their burgers and fries. I would just suggest tempering your expectations; the food isn't going to blow your mind but it's very solid. I will say that the chicken sandwich is decent, but I've definitely had better chicken sandwiches (e.g. Popeyes), but I'm not upset since the sandwich was free with a $10 purchase. (I should note that I did not purchase a shake this time, but I've had Shake Shack shakes at other locations before, and they're good.) A kind employee approached our table and asked if she could refill my drink. This is the closest Shake Shack to me and we've been a bunch so surprised I don't have a review for this place yet. I'm more of a fan of their competitor. But Shake Shack has good food. I also think it's not comparable as it's a difference price point. Anyways I usually only come here now when they have some kind of deal. And I feel like they always have a deal right now. Currently, on Sundays they have a free chicken burger with a $10 purchase. And they're always doing BOGO or a free shake or free something. I have the app also so ordering online before is the way to go. Then you can just walk in and pick up your food. They also don't care if you eat there or you can go outside and there is plenty of seating. I've tried a bunch of their different burgers but I would say my favorite is the shack stack. They do a lot of special burgers, and I always get the truffle ones. The fries are decent too for the crinkle cut variety. Usually I don't have any issues. This most recent time I was handed the wrong order. I made it all the way back to my car before I realized and I was not going to walk back so I just took it. Also I felt like I couldn't really taste the pickles or the Shacksauce, making the burger just a little bland. But the bread buns were soft and toasted, which helped a little bit and I liked the cook of the patty. We also got a Cookies and Cream milkshake which was decent. tl;dr So far only the standard burger has been good. The shroom burger and chicken nuggets were big no nos. Service and ambiance are nice, but they do not make up for the food quality. I've been here a few times and try something different each time, but unfortunately I can't give the food a very high rating. The burger filling was good, but the bun really doesn't compare to the toasted ones like at In n Out. The chicken bites were good as well, kind of like an elevated chicken nuggets, and I thought were comparable to Chick Fil A. You can choose one sauce to go with and I got the Shack Sauce. Haven't tried the other sauces to know which goes best with it. It's a decent burger place, but can be a tad more on the expensive side. Overall, service was super fast and I got texts reminding me to pick up. Staff member helped me find my order right after I walked in. It's too bad they do not have a curbside pick up option here, because parking at Valley Fair is super annoying if you're not sticking around to hang out in the mall.
