Great food, bad service. First time I ordered from here (pickup), they charged me twice. I've been trying to get my money back for the extra charge for a month now and they keep delaying refunding me...saying the "owner is not here" or "they'll call you back." Second time I ordered (also pickup). I figured I'd eat from here again even though I'm still waiting on that refund from above. 1. They shorted us 1 sandwich so I waited for them to make that 3rd one. 2. I get home and 2 of the 3 sandwiches were made wrong 3. I call back and they claimed they don't make the sandwiches we requested when I know they do b/c I've ordered it before, it was written on the receipt and I had placed the original order directly over the phone. 4. Lady on the phone said they can't do anything since "they don't make that sandwich." Didn't offer any solution. Straight up just said can't do anything. 5. Finally I talk to a manager who understood the issue and what sandwich we asked about. They made the correct sandwiches, but the manager offered no refund/credit and I'm still waiting on the 1st refund for the double charge. read more

We decided to support this brand new local biz especially considering they have to open during this lockdown/quarantine time with only doing carry out. I really liked the Bermudian fish! The raisin bread gave it a subtle sweetness & the fish was very mild & yummy. My husband got the Shaker Steak Sandwich & it was ok. He thought it would have more kick with the horseradish sauce. Maybe the hoagie bun soaked it up too much?? Our biggest disappointment was with the fries. While the seasoning was good they were visibly 'old' & texture was a bit soggy. I really wanted to love this place. It's close, food is good. I know they opened just about the time Covid shut everything down. We went there during the shutdown, ordered and ate in parking lot. Been there through the short staffing, still went back. Til now. Tonight went in for dinner, first thing I saw upon walking in was a "Let's go Brandon" sign, right behind the host stand. YES, you can believe and say whatever you wish. But to see this upon entrance is going to upset a portion, however small, of your patrons. I realize I am a minority on the Southside, in Indiana and the overall Midwest, being a Democrat amongst the Red state. Maybe, others have seen the sign and stayed away? I so desperately want to like this place since it's so close to home but they make it challenging. This review is based on about a dozen visits so we certainly have given it a chance. The food here is good, and they offer delivery so that's a great option. The problem is with the staff and the ambience. They servers / bartenders never seem to have been trained. They're unaware of specials / draft selection. They always seem a little clueless when it comes to the menu and drink selections. Also, they do have a TouchTunes but it's always turned down so low you can't hear it and the one time we asked to have it turned up, someone else came and turned it back down. Also, they close at 9pm so making this a late night stop on the way back home isn't ever an option. I'm not giving up on them yet but it needs to get better quickly. read more

Tonight I ordered carryout. Service was really good for carryout. The food not so much. Everything is heavily seasoned. I had the pork tenderloin. It could have been good but the seasoning was too much. The fries were not good at all. The homemade cheese sticks were probably the best item I ordered. The Mac and Cheese you could taste the rue and no cheese, the patty melt my daughter ordered was burnt. The sliders were not good. First 1 star review. The food was just flat out gross. Got the perch. It said it was 3 pieces... got 2. It was inedible. No homemade tartar sauce which they talked about. They seemed understaffed when we had lunch there yesterday so take this review with a grain of salt, I'm sure the staff was probably under supported. The service was not excellent but totally something I can look past if a place is busy and has good food, unfortunately that was not the case here. The host seemed barely there, our waitress was friendlier but pretty slow in checking on us and bringing stuff out even though there were hardly any customers at all. When we got our food it all looked okay but not a single one of us finished our meal or took any home because the quality was sub-par. I had the chicken and waffles, the fried chicken was definitely all white meat and seemed hand prepared (not frozen chicken tenders from a bag) so I was excited to eat it. However, the chunks of fried chicken breast were so thick that they had been over cooked (presumably to make sure they were done). The meat wasn't pounded out at all and was super under seasoned, it was tough and dry from being over cooked, I had a hard time getting through it with my fork. The waffles were okay, the chili sauce and syrup were good; it would have been a perfectly fine dish had the chicken been pounded out a little for tenderness and a shorter cook time and seasoned well. Someone in our party also got the steak sandwich with waffle fries. I didn't try the sandwich but he said the bread wasn't that good so he just ate the steak. I did have a couple waffle fries and they also tasted way over cooked - very dark and dry and kind of hard. Another person got brisket macaroni and cheese which we all tried. The brisket was perfectly fine but the mac and cheese definitely tasted like it was heated up from a bag and covered in only-half-melted shredded cheese. His "loaded" mashed potatoes had only cheese on them, that's it. Overall definitely not worth the money we paid for it and will not be going back. read more

first time in, we were seated and the waitress Karry came and took our order, after a few minutes she came back and said they were out of pulled pork, would Brisket be ok? and it was very good, my wife ordered a baked potato again out of them, but she did bring a nasty little one out and asked if my wife wanted it, of course she didn't, but i must say i had sliders that were not on the menu and they were excellent, we were there at 7:15 on a Saturday night and they are about 50 feet from a Kroger so not really any excuse to be out of potatoes, the food we did get was all really good and the waitress was excellent, she did comp a dessert for the troubles, i hope this isn't too negative because i will go back, i just didn't understand a few things. Saw ads on Facebook and the menu looked good. Needed a break from quarantined cooking. Ordering is done through text. How could there be a mistake when the order is plain to see in the writing of a text? My husband's burger wasn't made as ordered. Both of our fries were soggy and cold. I ordered a strawberry daiquiri and had to ask for it upon pick up. I had already paid, tipped, and waited to find out that the frozen daiquiri wasn't making frozen drinks, so my $9 drink was liquid. Put it in my freezer for two hours and it's undrinkable due to too much alcohol. Customers were great about following social distancing recommendations. Staff not as much. To sign the check, customers must use their finger to sign on a tablet. Not sanitized between uses. Not safe during this pandemic. Husband and I both wish we would have eaten at home instead of throwing away a $35 meal. Maybe it'll be better once open for a sit down meal, but I would not recommend Shakers now. read more

I absolutely would not recommend this place we have ordered pizza to go twice and it has been wrong both times 1st time we ordered a sausage pepperoni pizza got charged for a sausage and a pepperoni pizza. We just ordered A12 inch pepperoni sausage pizza and order breadsticks and got charged $32 . the pizza had not one pepperoni at all (after I had ask the waiter when I went to pick it up where are the pepperoni) he said oh it's between the layers so when I get out to the car I checked and saw that there was absolutely no pepperoni on the pizza I took it back in they threw 4 torn up pepperoni on there and threw it back in the oven and handed it back to me I absolutely would not go there.That is SUCKY service . read more

Terrible experience at Shakers on 8/29/20. Ordered my food at 6:10 pm and the food came out over an hour later and my order was wrong so it had to be sent back to the kitchen and finally received the correct food 1 1/2 hours after ordering. Very slow on getting drink refills also. The thing that really ticked me off was that many of the wait staff were delivering food with masks down below their noses. I went to the hostess station and informed her that if our food was delivered by anyone with a mask below the nose that we would refuse to accept our order.
