    House fried rice
    Tommy J.

We had to go to the Tesla planned. Decided to stop here and get it couple of boxes of fried rice. The house fried rice is actually really good. Plenty of meat. We also got some walnut shrimp with a really nice honey glaze or something not sure, really crunchy shrimp with candied walnuts. What we ordered: Walnut shrimp with fried rice House fried rice Water The food was prepared quickly. Both of the dishes were delicious and really a good price. Not sure when I'll be out this way again, however definitely will stop here and eat. I think they cater mostly to the factories out here, Walmart, Tesla... Whoever. Give it a try

Food was great! I had chicken and shrimp fried rice Service was okay as well. Wasn't too busy when we went there, so all was done by the cashier.

The napkin is where I spit out the rotten pork. Barrrf!
    Michael S.

Five bites in I realized they sold me rotten Sweet & Sour Pork... Barf! ! Of course, I didn't realize this until it was too late. Even if the pork wasn't rotten, it was over breaded, gristly, and fatty. The fried rice seemed to be nothing more than woke warmed steamed rice with soy sauce added at the last minute for color along with some carrots and peas.

I only ordered off the "Authentic Szechuan Gourmet" menu and highly recommend you do too! I wanted to venture out a little so I got fuqi feipian (spicy cold beef and tripe) and it was incredible, as were the wok fried green beans. The cumin lamb and chicken wings were also full of flavor, and well executed. The service was pleasant and very accommodating to the group, we had a person with a peanut allergy and they let us order stuff with the peanuts on the side, and knew about the allergens in the chili oil. I'm looking forward to another visit so that I can try the Mapo Tofu, and spicy boiled fish soup.

Now, the sesame chicken sauce was very delicious, but I must say the Chicken could have been better. Some pieces were soft and tasty but some pieces were not soft as if the chicken was not fresh. The sauce definitely was a perfect sauce full of flavor. We are definitely going back to try more dishes. The lady that served us was very sweet. She checked on us frequently. I made a taco and the ground beef was seasoned perfectly! Meats: The roasted turkey and sausage were exceptional. The prime rib and steaks were overcooked and dry. Salads: I loved the variety of salad dressings available! Fruits were sparse. There was only watermelon available. Soups: Clam chowder & pho were delicious! Desserts: Tasty and the portions were too large. Recommend making the serving sizes smaller to decrease waste. I stumbled upon the horchata and Melon drink dispensers. What a great find. Very tasty and fresh! Service: Our table server was Mauricio. He made the dining experience so pleasant and we felt like a VIP. He was very attentive and served with pride and a genuine smile! This was our first time at this buffet. We were instructed that we earned a one free person meal but after looking at our bill, we did not receive the discount. We were a party of 12 but we were good with being assigned 3 separate tables. They were gracious to keep us in the same area. Thank you. Ambiance: Warm, inviting. The plates were very accessible. Booths were roomy and very comfortable. Recommend: Moving potatoes near the meats area. It was a difficult find. We will return! Thank you for your service. Rondez

I don't know if it was because it was the first day of hot August nights or not, but there was quite a bit of a line. I got up into the line, paid, and went inside..... What a spread! Mexican, Chinese, American, a station where they would make a salad for you, pho, Mongolian BBQ, a Carvery station with all kinds of different choices, including ham, prime, rib, and even sausage. They had a dessert section, including cobbler, bread, pudding, cakes, cookies, pie, large selection of gelato, even cotton candy! They also had a selection of sugar-free desserts. Everything that I ate was amazing. Some of the things, The shrimp were fresh, the Mexican choices were good, I loved the dim sum, and I had both prime rib and some of the sausage. They had both salmon, and trout, and both of those were amazing as well. For dessert, I had a rocky Road gelato, (very creamy with lots of goodies inside...) the cobbler and the bread, pudding. the bread pudding was just the right consistency and delicious, the cobbler was nice and warm. I paid about $41 with the senior discount. If you are a senior or military/veteran, you have it added to your players card, and you qualify for the discount. Definitely worth it for the quality and quantity of the food. An excellent meal. I would gladly come back. Thank you.

I ordered the 1 dozen oysters, clam linguine, and house salad. Oysters -- 7/10 The oysters were really fresh and shucked right in front of you, which was definitely a plus. They were a little too big for my liking and had a creamier texture than I prefer, but overall they were good. Clam Linguine -- 7/10 The linguine was solid. The portion was decent, and I liked the combination of clams, lemon, garlic, and Parmesan. Nothing that completely blew me away, but still a good dish. Might pass on the parmesan next time because it clunked up as it melted in the dish. House Salad The salad was actually pretty good and surprisingly large for a house salad. Fresh lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, olives, and plenty of croutons. Overall, everything is prepared fresh right in front of you, which I really enjoyed. The oysters being freshly shucked definitely added to the experience. The wait wasn't terrible, and if you're an oyster or seafood fan, it's worth stopping by while you're in Tahoe. Overall: 7/10 thank youuuu

Unfortunately, the clam chowder was terribly watered down and had a noticeable "fishy" smell the moment I opened the lid. And before anyone says seafood is supposed to smell pungently fishy: no, it's not. If it smells bad, it's usually because it's not fresh. For a small bowl of clearly watered-down clam chowder that didn't seem fresh - and somehow cost around $20, more than some of the best clam chowders at well-known coastal seafood establishments - I'm annoyed enough to write a Yelp review, which I rarely do unless I'm especially impressed or especially offended. I'm offended.

I visited Chopstix in Sparks on a whim when my wife was getting her nails done nextdoor, thinking…read moreI'd just shnack a little while I waited. Instead, I ended up coming back the same day because my first experience was that good. Let's start with the appetizer sampler I got first go round. The egg roll was crispy, cabbagey, savory, and satisfying. The shrimp was crispy, fresh-tasting, and absolutely delicious with the sweet and sour sauce. The chicken wings were crispy, crunchy, juicy, and left me wanting ten more. The sesame ball was sweet, creamy, and wonderfully nutty. The crab cheese puffs were packed with filling, crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy in the middle, with a slight tang. The restaurant itself was spotless and smelled nice. The staff were friendly, smiling, and genuinely made me want to come back. The appetizers came with sweet and sour sauce, hot mustard, soy sauce, and a generous stack of napkins. It's a little thing, but I appreciated it. After I ran into the nail place to let my wife try what I thought was amazing, we decided it was gonna be dinner. Later, I came back and ordered two combo plates and a chicken fried rice. My combo came with chow mein, orange peel chicken, and General Chicken. My wife's came with fried rice and Kung Pao Chicken. My mom ordered the chicken fried rice. My plate left me conflicted. The flavors were fantastic. The orange peel chicken actually had large pieces of orange peel in it, giving it brightness, sweetness, and acidity. The General Chicken had a nice spice level, and I could actually taste ingredients like ginger instead of just generic sweetness. The chow mein was flavorful enough that it didn't need soy sauce at all. The problem wasn't flavor. It was texture. The chow mein, orange peel chicken, and General Chicken were all much softer than I prefer. Not quite mushy, but getting close. Everything kind of compressed when I bit into it. So I'm torn. Amazing flavor, but textures that just weren't my favorite. My wife's Kung Pao Chicken, on the other hand, was excellent. The spice level was perfect, the vegetables were uniformly cut and perfectly cooked, and there were peanuts throughout that added a nice crunch. Nothing was undercooked, oversized, or awkward to eat. Whoever is doing the knife work and prep in this kitchen deserves some credit because it shows. The fried rice on that plate was okay. Not bad at all, just very simple. It needed a little more flavor and a little more going on. My mom's chicken fried rice was much better. It had more seasoning, more ingredients, shredded chicken, vegetables, and a much more satisfying overall texture. So what's the verdict? The appetizers were outstanding, especially the shrimp and crab cheese puffs. The Kung Pao Chicken was excellent. The chicken fried rice was very good. Even the dishes I criticized had genuinely amazing flavor. Seriously, orange chicken that actually tastes like orange instead of pure sugar? That's rare. General Chicken where I can pick out individual flavors instead of one-note sweetness? Also rare. My issue was texture, not taste. If you like softer textures, you may love the chow mein, orange peel chicken, and General Chicken. If you're like me and prefer more bite, chew, or crispness, those dishes may not be your favorites. Will I be back? Absolutely. I should also mention for two combo plates, a order of shrimp, and order of crab cheese puffs, I spent like $55 bucks. Not bad at all. The flavors were too good not to come back and explore the rest of the menu. Honestly, if the orange peel chicken and General Chicken had a crispier texture, they'd be among the best versions I've had. As it is? 4 out of 5.
